I use Capcut and have done for 18 months, but it has become to much of a money spinner, all the transitions txt and other are becoming pro, I'm not a pro editor so just a hobby, Davinci is just to memory greedy, I'm going to give shotcut or VCSD a try, love the video
what do you think? I have bad storage and internet so I can't try too many software out, I just wanna make simple edits but manually, without using templates
just getting started trying to get my sim drifting vids off the ground for the team i founded your vid here cleared up alot of things others made convoluted or confusing or just straight up forgot thank you so much thank you thank you
I edit videos as a fun hobby so I don't want to pay for subscriptions when I'm only using the editing software once every few weeks or even months. My main issue is video length cuts. I used clipchamp which was fine cutting together and editing my gameplay, but I can't go past 10 mins, even with the paid version. I just want to be able to make 20 min length videos..
Wow; what an impressive video. This is a top notch overview of free video editing software I've ever seen. I have been using Filmora but they have made updates almost every week. Your forced to learn new additions of the software continually. So I looking into a new software editor. This video really helped me to understand what features I might want and if my computer has the memory to operate them. This video itself is user friendly and perfectly laid out. I was amazed; well done.
Have you played filmora? I'm also trying to get into editing but with the free version of filmora, they put a big banner in my video, will it go away if I pay for it?
Thank you for this video. I sadly had to put my 10 year old cat/bestfriend/furbaby/son to sleep on Saturday due to extremely fast progressing illness. I am looking to throw myself into a project to help me deal with his sudden passing (all this happened in less than 2 weeks), the project will be a memorial/compilation of videos and photos of his life , (however I have nooooooo experience with video editing so here's hoping I do a decent job) this video has helped me narrow down what program I'm gonna use for making his video ♡ Rip my beautiful furbaby Novak , April 2014 - 14th September 2024 ❤
I used Shotcut for a while and then switched to Capcut. I find Capcut very easy to use, but with every update I get the feeling that they are reducing the number of free features. My two requirements are not available in Capcut free. They are reducing the barrel efect caused by wide angle lenses (deformation) and sound equalisation (control of bass, treble and mid-range). DaVinci has a very steep learning curve and for me, it is out of question.
Bought 14 Days film maker 2 years ago. I logged into my account after watching this video and was granted free access to 14 Days RU-vidr. New lessons have also been added to the course in general. Back then there was no Da Vinci and capcut editing. Thank you so much Anthony.
Hi. I started out with Davinci but found the lagging in playback too annoying, and my pc has decent specs. So I now use Capcut and even with HVEC files the playback is flawless. For the type of videos I make, Capcut does a great job and I find with the keyboard shortcuts, the editing is fast and efficient. One gripe I do have with Capcut is the fading in/out of music, especially fading out. I would prefer it to be 20 seconds long and to fade into silence, whereas at the moment I think the fade out still doesn't fade to a low enough volume so when it's stops, it cuts out too abruptly. Otherwise, I love it, especially the pro version which gives me access to pro tools which are great. Thanks for your honest review and I think your results are fair.
@@MrPaulXavier really? Yeah I am using the PC Desktop Version. I open it up offline it says no internet connection. And then even when I can get past the screen, you can't use any built in transitions and effects due to offline. Are you able to check? Thanks!
Thankyou, you have been a light in the darkness of so much BS sales links etc. I'm ADHD and yours is the only vid i watch to the end. Easy to follow 3 good choices and simple directions. Ill be back to pick your brains. A well deserved upthumb.
Thank you for taking the time. It's Greatly Appreciated. I'm planning to spend a month creating videos, editing them, and then starting my first RU-vid channel. I'm an Exercise Therapist and Holistic Nutritionist and plan to have at least 20 to 30 videos ready to upload as soon as I start my channel. I feel that having a good number of videos available at the start will help. With your experience on RU-vid, do think that is a good idea? Like many others, I am very nervous about how all of this works. But I'm going to take the gamble and put 150 percent effort into building my channel over the next year. I truly believe that I can get monetized within 6 months if not sooner. My goal is actually 3 months. I do believe I can achieve that. Thanks Again....
Capcut it is! I aspire to eventually getting Da Vinci but I know how off-putting overloaded programmes can be to my learning curve process. I like to start with the basics and get a mastery over them first. I'm starting with my smart phone.
You need to look into whether or not the programs allow the simple generation of proxy clips to take the strain off lower spec'd computers. It's not always turned on by default.
Capcut 3.5 for PC no longer has the opacity slider under the Blender options. Obviously your video is showing an older version of Capcut that did have the Opacity slider. Is there a workaround to change the opacity of your videos because if there isn't I will scrap Capcut.
Cap cut can access your camera and mic while not editing, they have access to everything on your computer or your cell phone, they can see your contacts, way to many permissions not good
Yep, they're owned by TicToc. Most people don't read all the permissions they're agreeing to while they're installing what's basically spyware into their devices!
as an editor that uses clipchamp here are some pros and cons of the video editing software: pros: easy to use, templates are mid audio sometimes can be buggy cons: it can sometimes get rid of your video, (I have had this happen to me a couple of times) sometimes you have to use 3rd party apps to get the right volume for the audio
Do these programs maintain the audio sync throughout the edited videos regardless if you sped the video clips up, reversed them, or had many small chopped up clips? I paid $80 for Filmora 11 and it has problems with this
is there a good free editing program that allows exporting 4k video. i currently use clipchamp it came on my computer but have to pay to export anything over 1080p
Only concern with capcut is that it takes up way too much space. I made a 20 minute video on Capcut and it's 3 GB. Which would be around 1.5 GB for 10 minutes. When I use something like canva it's only 80 MB
Da Vinci Resolve wont work with 8bit 4k gopro videos (its supposed to) ive spent weeks on their forum and all i get it (pay for the full price one or re-encode all your video 1st) NO its SUPPOSED to work in your compitible codec list.... I've tried 3 different versions of it, none work. if you are only using HD it seems to work. but the support is terrible. I have used kden Live for a year, its free and really good, but it crashes too often (save regularly).
13:20 Davinci Resolve has funktions to use Proxys to edit and other things. I edit 4k without problems and I use a Radeon 3 quadcore, 16 Gb DDR4 ram and a GeForce GTX 1650 on a 27" 4K Monitor.... I think, the cache and the proxys storing on a M.2 SSD will help too.
@@MrPaulXavier I will have to start with Capcut since it's most affordable for me right now. When I get much better at editing my goal for the future is probably to learn After effects/Premiere pro/Sony Vegas, one of those
Nice and useful video! I miss Shotcut to be one of the contendants though, since it seems to me it has plenty of powerful options, like color correction, and it is not just absolutely free, but even FOSS.
Say i'm still using vegas pro 15 Because Since sony movie maker I have adored the ease of use of the program But now that I need to upgrade As 15 is heavily showing its age ... And I want to edit and render 1440p videos without it taking hours per video I have to wonder how does Devinci stack up against Vegas pro 22
I’ve recorded a few videos and ready to start a channel and upload what was holding me back is picking the editing software which was beginner friendly watching this I think I will settle for the software I initially thought would work for me Davinci Resolve I would also like to enroll on the offered courses please
What about Video Proc Vlogger. I was using it for a while and it was quite good. Also free, also lots of professional features. I would love to see you do a review of that compared to cap cut which I am now using.
Amazing breakdown man, I request you to make videos around color grading in capcut & lightroom to make videos cinematic, as I struggle to play with curves.
I just started making youtube videos as a hobby so I definitely needed free software. I have been using clip champ and I have no complaints. That being said I would like to increase what I am able to do in my videos so I will definitely be giving cap cut a try. Thanks for this video
Bro, I was about to buy your 14 day film maker course, but I was watching the intro video for it, and I didn't hear you mention that it goes over Capcut!?? Is this true? I have been watching your videos on youtube, and I have been sold with going with Capcut, but I'm greatly concerned now if your course doesn't cover Capcut? Wondering your thoughts. .. Should I still do capcut, or is this not the best option, or is the intro video outdated and capcut is covered in it?
Capcut is super friendly but it will get crashed and super slow even crashed my ipad pro when editing long form videos. I had to spend a lot of time to learn Davinci Resolve, still learning but totally worth it.
Thanks for explaining clip champ lag. could not understand what was going on. massive memory usage slowed everything. couldnt use other programmers while it was running.
I love Divinci but man it's laggier than ever no matter what I try to do to fix the lag. I have high speed ram 32GB a RX 6800XT and a Ryzen 7 two SSD's still lags.
I used Clip Champ because of this video and loved it. I just wish it werent so buggy and had a timeline more similar to movie maker (so i dont have to zoom in/out and pan around so much). Are there any paid or free programs as easy to use and quick as clip champ/movie maker? I made some clips in resolve but couldnt imagine editing a full project with it
Are you familiar with OBS Studio? If so, is it beginner friendly? I just downloaded it and so far I'm kind of lost. I've done some very basic video editing with Photoshop, but it only works for short videos. No budget rn for another app. Cheers!
Question, Anthony: with your Content Creators templates, are you able to tell me if the assets such as the transitions can work with CapCut or Camtasia? Sorry for asking here, but I didn't see a contact form on your site where the templates are listed. Thank you for your patience. :)
If you go to contentcreatortemplates.com right now, there are filters on the left side of the screen that you can use to select for only CapCut compatible templates. You can also select “all platforms” which will include camtasia as well! Unfortunately those two editors don’t support a lot of third party templates but this will give you a good idea of what to expect.
Disappointed. I installed Clipchamp and used it. The first file I want to edit with it is incompatible with it. That file is a MP4 file with AV1 video format and AAC audio format.
So I've just got windows 11 and I googled clipchamp maximum video length, it recommends 10min maximum,,inwana do longer video so what's 10 min about ? Seems a pointless programme if that's the case,,,any advice?
Thanks for the information. I'm struggling with Adobe PE9, it now crashes when I include text, it also have a 15 minute upload limit, which is miserable, but other than these issues it does everything I want for my RU-vid videos. Dose Capcut upload directly to RU-vid, like PE9, or do I have to go through another process? Regards . . . Andy
Not really to be honest, there are tons of foreign companies making apps as well, people have just really chosed to focus in on this one company in particular.
I feel clipchamp is horrible Seems to work good but it ends up duplicating words in the audio. So if I said something sometimes it repeats it .. messing up the audio.. making everything out of sync. Imagine editing for hours & after checking everything all seems good until you upload it.
I am not sure why I am watching this when I use Vegas Pro. Curious how free things have come, I suppose. These free apps seem very simplistic. Focused more on auto-editing and phones than providing what comes off as "basic" tools to me. Davinci aside, but Davinci hides the good stuff (like hardware encoding) behind a paywall.
I think since i dont hsve much time ill start with capcut since it seems more simple and if im able to grow an audiancd and able to dedicate more time ill learn a more powerful editing software.
Hi Bro, CAPCut is no where available. Its own website is also down. I have finally found the desktop app. But after installing it, there are libraries available with it what so ever. Simply gives error loading. Can you provide the link official website. or an offline PC app.
How does Shotcut compare to your 1st 2 options for beginners? I mostly need a very simple way to splice recorded video segments together for RU-vid tutorials (& not cause blips that make it obvious I spliced two takes of a video together - ie I need to make smooth transitions across splices). If it was easy, I might add some overlaid text or notes, too. Thx.
