Perfect timing - this is the year I'm moving from a cooler to a fridge, adding a battery, and a toilet for the wife. Great info - and this is the first small one I've seen with a freezer. Neat!

I have this same fridge. Pecron sells a 500 watt alternator charger. It should be able to handle the charge for that iceco solgen (Solar Generator or Battery Box etc) while you are on the road or engine running. its at an amazing price too on sale right now. I ordered one for my Gladiator. I know the gladiator comes with a 400 watt inverter but 500 watts DC charger is better for the Solgen I have. I always keep my fridges in insulated covers and when I ordered the APL35 it was not avail. Now its avail! that really helps save on power usage in very hot temps and can help prevent freezing in winter low freezing temps. This fridge is very light weight compared to my Iceco 55 quart fridge, its night and day. I can't wait to use this on my future trips. Its super quite, you can sleep next to it. A big plus is the phone app. I can check the temps from my phone, and not have to go looking at the temps on the panel, change temp settings and switch to max or eco mode. Once you get used the app and how it does the temp settings its easy. I don't think an integrated battery will be the way to go as this thing Sipps power so a solgen will last a long time unless you want to remove from vehicle to say put in your tent or next to cooking area then yah it may make sense. It can be plugged into vehicle cig lighter or inverter while driving. If plugged into DC power, it has settings built-in to auto turn off if the main car battery drops to certain voltage levels to ensure it won't kill your starter battery if you plan to run it off the car battery. Its super flexible. one final thing, these secop pumps dont have any issues with steep angles, > 45 deg, like lower quality fridge pumps do. So when off roading/trailing this will be cranking along.

Purchased the Super Early Bird with the APL35 and the tray. A lot of tiers have already sold out. I will have to pick up the cover later. I do wish it had a basket in it. As a single female, it would still be nice to load the unit in the car (even as light as this is compared to others) and then load in the food.

Agreed. I like the basket in my dometic so I can just take that out to put in the house after a trip and the cooler stays in the garage.

Talon, good vid! Right now I solve the battery issue by trickle charging my Jackery 1000 off my cig lighter while driving, and run the fridge off of the Jackery DC port. I tap into the Jackery battery power when I’m camping. In hot Utah weather, my fridge draws down around 25% over night. I can make up a one night battery deficit in four hours of driving.

That’s how I do it too but it’s not a great solution. Just One cord from the fridge to the truck would be ideal 👌🏼 Hopefully they can take the tip and make a self powered unit soon 🤞🏼

What does my fridge draws down around 25% mean? It only drains 25% of the battery? It drains 75%? And leaves 25?

May be my new fav pick for my first minivan fridge, planned for extended use. Any stats on its energy consumption? Originally had in mind to get VL35 ProS but lighter and a smidge smaller exterior.

BTW I love IceGo, I had been using the Go20 for the last couple years. The fridge with the hot swappable battery you discuss is the Eco Flow offering. Charges perfectly off of 12V power and it makes ice!

Do you have info on the dimensions without handles. I built the drawer around the 37QT which is 26.4 inches

So can the smaller battery pack magnet to the side of the silver one like it did on the black frig?

Interesting, id like to see this fridge mounted to a fladbed truck for about 3 years and never shut off.. my arb elements fridge has been flawless thru any weather so far.. but its not dual zone, which id prefer ..

Supposedly iceco tests their products pretty extensively before launching but this is too new to tell how it would stand up to long term abuse like that.

That's a nice looking fridge, would you consider installing a dual battery in ya truck? Its a very popular thing to do here in Australia, we have fridges running 24/7 in our vehicles, so handy

Love the design. I may want to pick this up. I currently run an engel MR040 fridge. I really like it and mostly like the single zone but every now and then itd be nice to have a freezer section. I may sell my Engel and buy this one. This is ideal for most of my use cases. Also price is right. I also plan on buying iceco vl60D to have for larger trips. We are a family of 4 but even our current 40qt fridge works mostly for our needs. We tend to just do weekend trips or long weekend trips maybe 4 days and most. Now that the kids are starting to get a bit bigger they eat more and we have started going on longer trips every now and then so the larger fridge will be nice for long trips and the smaller for shorter trips.

Iceco is awesome. Started w a jp40, moved up to a gigantic VL75ProD. Just my wife and I, but it was pivotal when we spent 11 days in the infield of Daytona International Speedway. Really like that position holding lid. One of the advantages of the vl75, is the multiple ways to open the lid. Idk if they could incorporate that tech into the VL lids, but that would be amazing. But, every product I've had from iceco, I've never had an issue with. Performed as well, or better than promised. And, ice cream sammiches just hit different on the trail.

My new favorite to buy! Similar to one of the comment I seen, ice and ice packs take up room I would rather have something in plus it takes time to pack with them. A battery pack that plugs into the side or attaches similar to the battery pack you used is perfect.

I have a Iceco VL35 that has an expandable collar and two different lid options(a flat and a domed), I think its discontinued now, but I love it. Its pretty damn heavy, but definitely well built and very quiet.

My understanding is it’s not about the power draw. The inverters on the Toyotas is not pure sin wave and that’s why they don’t charge power stations… you might check on that but that is what I have found.

Can this cooler fit a 2L pepsi bottle standing up? How about the classic wine bottle? It seems like they generally measure about 12" inches so I am curious as I think it might be very close.
@Justin-C
@Justin-C 3 месяца назад
Laying down, yes - two should fit in the bottom (should be able to fit 4). Standing up? No - 2L bottles are ~12.4" high: ""The large container of the APL35 has dimensions of 14.1" L x 9.9" W x 11.8" H, which converts to approximately 35.8 cm x 25.1 cm x 30 cm."

Just an FYI but you can get a DC car plug to xt60i plug, that will charge the battery bank. The Toyota inverters are notoriously under powered and I found this work around for my battery/fridge set up in my Tacoma.

The fact that it has a compressor can it be turned upside down? Most if not all refrigerators have to stay upright so oil doesn’t get into the refrigeration system

@@mattwalker2583 Their fridges are designed to operate at a 40 degree angle. If it gets turned over, you may have to allow the compressor to settle for 24 hours.
