British films are just soo..... british, there is somethink distinct about them. You instantly know a film is going to be british before they even start talking haha! They are so realistic, the cast look like real people, the way they speak is actually how we speak, the shots aren't all taken at the "golden hour" (time of the day when the lighting is at its best for camera shots) and that's just the beginning. I have no idea what makes them so realistic and so great and just so distinctly british but I love it! Proud brit, always have been always will be :) now lets get back to our tea and the film shall we!
Livies most British films are good but the dialogue in jw’s books and films is so weird and out of touch. Like no one says ‘heaps’ or ‘terribly’ or ‘mustn’t’
Omg I remember seeing this on Citv years ago when I wasn't into jw and then since I was into her I've been trying to find this everywhere! Thxs so much for this. But also in the book Alice's mum is not single , the reason why they move is because of theirs DADS new job
Awh I relate to this story so much. I moved away from my best friend from England to the middle East!!! I love this story. And Gemma is a great actress. Xx
Holy crap I remember this movie from when I was young but I forgot the title and had been searching for ages.. thanks soooo much for the upload!!!!!! :D
thankyou for posting this I had memories of this film but I couldn't think what it was from but me and my best friend both had seen the same and I couldn't remember this brings back memories
This isn't what happens in the book . . . I read it when I was little . . . Biscuits is NOT new, he's Gemma's friend, and they never try to get rid of him - Gemma finds out that Alice is leaving, so they decide to run away together and Biscuits accidentally gives them away. I am NOT happy.
most good bits have been left out and completely different bits have been added in but I suppose that does not matter since its quite a good film actually the book is really good I recommend reading it
Just a heads up, there is music that is not in this for copyright reasons, I assume. So... 1:15 Imagine the song "Air Hostess" by Busted and 15:07 Imagine the song "5 colors in her hair" by McFly
I have this book on audiobook and I used to have the book. Wish this was closer to the book. I’d love to see diamond girls made into a tv show or movie.
I had no idea more of her books got put on the big screen, i only knew of the tracey beaker tv series but i read most of her books growing up. i think my favourite was cliffhanger. I need to go on a big ass binge. I must watch them ALL.
Chloe Smyth who played Gemma will be aged about 27/28 The actor who played Biscuits aged 27/28 Sadly Poppy Rogers who played Alice died of a drug overdose aged 16
I used love this show as a kid; I only watched it because the actress of Alice was in ‘Five Children & It’ and she portrayed Jane and the actor who portrayed Biscuits was also in ‘Five Children & It’ as Horace (only just realised)
I read the book, then watched this and they changed it! The book story line was much better, even the small details, like Biscuit's Mum being dead. I think they did the characters of Gemma and Alice quite well, but I wish they'd have stuck more to the book-it would've been cool to watch.
