@@bonebard6178 Honestly, I personally feel like Nero is just "Donte/DiNO done right." He's a rebellious and sometimes apathetic punk with an attitude, but unlike DmC Dante, he still comes across as endearing and likeable. His sense of humor towards the bosses doesn't feel unnecessarily mean-spirited or overly rely on swearing, and as much as we joke about "KYRIEEEEEEEE," giving him something to care about humanizes him. DmC Dante feels edgy for the sake of it. Very rarely is he likeable or sympathetic, as even when he starts to open up a bit more and care about other people he still acts overwhelmingly selfish and aloof. Nero accomplishes the same purpose while maintaining the heart and over-the-top silliness that makes the style and tone of the main series enjoyable.
And it got even more depressing with DMCV because it's a soft reboot that went into the most safe yet the stupidest direction possible all the while making Nero into Dante 0.5, effectively killing both characters.
I find it hilarious that Nero and Kyrie only actually kiss if you beat the game with Lady/Trish. Like Japanese relationships take so long to develop that it took them like 8 years for them to go from handholding in the initial release to kissing in the special edition
When Nero finished off Sanctus, he yells out 'Jackpot'. Like Giorno channeling Dio's WRYYYYYY, something in his GENES told him to yell off Jackpot when finishing off the big bad.
@@Micktrex Trish is modeled by Mundus (main villain of DMC1) to look like Dante's mom. And since Dante ends up wanting to save Trish, it's as if he does everything for MOTHER.
I like to imagine that Kyrie thinks Nero's attitude is actually really dumb and childish, but it's cute so she likes to laugh at him about it. Meanwhile Nero thinks he's actually acting cool and is oblivious to it.
What I also love is the fact that from 5, we know that Nero is usually a giant fucking douche wannabe Gangstar, when he's around Kyrie he turns into a HUGE softy. To the point where he probably NEVER swears Infront of her. I find that absolutely adorable.
What makes that weirder here is that sparda was known for being loving and kind,which is well known for how he got his power.Yet for some reason the order though being evil would make them equal to him.
I love that the "Jackpot!" line is optional and triggered by the player finish off the fight in the most stylish way one could logically imagine. It's similar to how the franchise has you play as a super badass, yet doesn't allow you to feel like one unless you put the work in instead of relying on quick-time events and the like.
Alternate-r Ending: Kyrie is actually super aggressive about purging false prophets, she realizes that Sanctus completely missed the point of Sparda so seeing her bf destroying this massive heretic really does something for her
I know I will be hated for this, but I actually like DMC: Donte Must Cringe better than 4. and I'm excited to see relentless shitting these guys will pour on to it.
I'm actually super hyped for this because while the story and character designs suck, it is by far my favourite in terms of mechanics. Plus the Virgil dlc was fun
After DmC: Devil May Cry came out i played through DMC4 again and when Nero asked Dante "will we meet again?", i was very sad. Everything changed after E3 2018 ☺
So Pat talking about Nico prompted me to take another look at Nico to see if she bore any resemblance to Agnes, and while I couldn't tell one way or another, I did discover that she looks a hell of a lot like Elaine from Seinfeld. And now I realize that what I really want to see is the cast of DMC drawn to look like the Seinfeld cast.
My favorite theory about Nero's DT: For anyone who's seen Seven Deadly Sins, you know the scene where King talks about the Sins' holy relics, how each Sin has GARGANTUAN magical power, but it can only be used through the filter of a relic? It's like the difference between trying to empty a lake with your bare hands, or using a big ass magic bomb to blow it to hell. Same here, but with Devil Arms. Dante, Vergil, and Nero have big ass demon energy in their bodies, but they need a Devil Arm to channel it. It's why you only get your DT in 1 once you get Alastor, it's why you have different forms for each Arm in 3 (different funnels means different results), and it's why Nero's DT comes with Yamato (a real Devil Arm. Red Queen isn't magical). Also, as demon blood gets diluted, it starts to get fuckey, and DTs manifest in weirder ways. The half-demons have full body transformations, while the quarter demon develops a Stand.
So if Kirby sucked up Dante would his power be style switch, his own devil trigger, or the ability to eat endless amounts of pizza and not get paid well?
The gameplay isn't LP poison, so I don't think so as much as I really want it to happen. At the very least, we can hear Pat and Woolie riff the cutscenes.
Pat's idea about Nero's DT is probably 100% correct. It also explains why Vergil can Keep the Summoned Swords that he only has in DMC3, while having the Force Edge, in DMC 1, after losing the Force Edge. They seem to both have this ability. Keep in mind that Vergil's summoned swords are summoned Force Edges. In this game, Yamato's Summoned Swords are Batarangs. This means that Vergil IS NOT using Yamato's version of summoned swords. It may be that Vergil can actually summon swords based upon the prescence of his amulet. This may explain why Dante actually cannot summon swords (batarangs) with Yamato like Nero can. Also, this may mean that the Devil Bringer Nero has actually has part of the original power in Vergil's Amulet inside of it, and this is why Vergil had him and his arm. They are a back up plan in case he ever lost his amulet to Dante, which he did. This means that Trish's Force Edge/Sparda's Sword is actually incomplete. This means that Vergil very well may steal it and unlock the even Truer Memier Force Edge.

It's the underlying message that Dante has confidence in Nero's ability. He's certain that whatever stands in his way between now and then, he'll be able to best it.

I find it funny, woolie pointing out the camera zooming in on nero's arm at the end by saying "what should I use?" because a twitch streamer I used to mod for actually rage quit the game at the false savior fight at the very end because he couldn't figure out you need to use buster on him

Honestly tjst game was fun to play it had awesome boss fights only problem was that getting an SSS rank was laughaubly easy you just had to do a 3 hit combo to trigger a bullshit move which is a tornado that traps enemies in it and hit them A LOT
I’ll let you in on something: Definitive Edition is a massive improvement over the original. While it’s true that DmC is probably the least good out of them, I do actually think DE is legitimately fun, unlike the original release. It also adds hands down the greatest addition to any DMC game: Must Style Mode where you need an S or higher to do damage in combat which really lets you use the game’s mechanics to style on even the weakest of basic mooks.
@@touchingisjustthefirststep To be fair, when it first came out there were a lot more issues. The weapons were all samy, you were forced to fight color coded enemies with the right weapons, SSS could be gotten just by shooting things Ala DMC2, the levels were easy, and honestly a bit boring. The satire was.... well, let's just say it wasn't subtle, the story writing was god awful (Gotta love that cutscene where dante and a boss just shout "Fuck you" at one another over and over again" and then there's the fact that they just straight up ruined dante and virgil, though I'm willing to admit that part is subjective.
Dante just kicks down his own door, steps outside and hovers in the air about 5cm off his front step and indiscriminately shoots up the street in front of him.
In Canon, This boss rush is the internal suction of a bit of the demon energy from each of the hell gates used to summon the demons. This is where part of the energy is stored, within sanctus, that would otherwise be taken out to fuse into bianco angelos or try and ressurect the Yamato. You are welcome. I don't understand why their are dice except as an analogy to the fortune and grace of God that one can manipulate it if you have the secret Strats?

DMC2 Dante is certainly stronger than Sparda, or Vergil, ever were. He has his obscenely powerful guns, a dodge button, and a feinted stinger, all three of which could totally roast his brother's heiney. A roasted heiney is a great way of staying warm when you're shirtless in the rain, by the way. Still, DMC2 Dante wouldn't need to stay warm, he could just dodge the concept of coldness.

I don´t think they will be much suffering, dmc: devil may cry is not a bad game, it´s a dumbd down verison of the og dmc, in both gameplay and story. With the knowlage that it´s not the bad aftertaste of the series but just a phase that would have been fine if not for the devil may cry name attached to it, maybe it will be fine

You know, I don't think I actually knew you could bounce back the charged orb the Angelos throw at you with a melee attack. I've always either done it with Charge Shot 3 on Nero or Pandora on Dante.
That's because Charge Shot 3 or Pandora is way easier and safer since it's a projectile with distance and instant release. Melee is way too risky if you have baby timing, like Pat and Woolie
Call me a cheesy sap, but the credits encounter where you gotta protecc Kyrie was tense as hell for me to watch. I had to re-do the Sanctus fight about a dozen times because I wanted to get that right, way back in the day.
5:00 I agree with Pat so much. DMC4 feels like such a letdown in terms of durability and design, since the second half of the game is just the first one backwards; granted that Dante is super fun and style switching in real time is absolutely CUH-RAZYYY, but the areas are just re-used and it feels so meh. Also, i like Nero much more because a solid moveset forces you to be more creative than Dante's options (read last sentence again).
If they went with the 'Order' weapons that the Angelo's use like the Alto's using their Red Queen's, then 'Red King' would probably be a Rocket Lance which I think I'd be okay with since that'd give them the excuse to make a really stylish Gunlance ala Monster Hunter.

My first time through DMC4, I had NO idea that you could counter so many things with Buster, I kinda just brute-forced my way with Snatch and sword combos. Naturally, that also meant that I had no idea that Buster was critical for finishing the final battle with Sanctus, and extremely helpful at various stages of the fight. So without that knowledge... holy god Sanctus is a rough fight. Snatching will only get you so far, and if you abuse it, Sanctus will instantly teleport away every, single, friggin', time, if not blast you in the face with fireballs. Even if you manage to close in, he'll start blocking your attacks with Sparda. And if you don't know about the gimmick with the Sparda charge... whew. Nightmarish. But once the knowledge is in place... wow what a cakewalk. When in doubt, Buster. Mission complete.
