YES PLEASE make this a RU-vid series!! To better steward my time this year, which will be swamped with school & work transitions, and divest time in the craziness on social media right now, I took Instagram and Facebook off my phone. But I love watching RU-vid in my spare time, while doing other random tasks, and I so loved your good news Friday updates!!

This channel really help me i was spiralling and this was insanely helpful. A lot of headlines make things seem extremely bad, but whenever i watching these videos it stops my anxiety and reminds me progress is being made!

I've got some more good news for you. Here in South Australia the state government has banned single use plastics such as straws and cutlery. It comes into effect sometime in March and many companies have made the switch. IKEA has bamboo cutlery. McDonald's has very thick paper straws. Costco has ditched the straw entirely and resigned their soft drink lids which are recyclable (not the best thing but better than outright throwing them in garbage). Our state government is also installing solar panels for it's public housing tenants who ask for it. My mum is one tenant who asked.

News from Michigan: our governor ordered the shut down of Enbridge's oil pipeline 5 that runs under the Straits of Mackianac (connected Lake Michigan and Lake Huron). This pipeline has been poorly maintained and its a huge risk to the Great Lakes!
