The Fila is an excellent dog breed. One of the most fearless I've ever known. The *only problem* is that they are being crippled by irresponsible breeders. It's tragic, so many of them are developing severe health problems.
Fila Brasileiro was the only breed in Brazil that wasn't killed by Brazilian Jaguars, they actually hunted and killed them; so the cattle was always safe with them around
@@jakobfolmar6604 cane corsos are naturally protective as well but yeah they come no where close to this amazing Fila dog. I plan on getting one once I finish my education and get a job.
Yes absolutely agree I have four. And it’s funny when folks create lists of guard dog and never bring up the Fila at all, I have seen many. They forget the most formidable dog is the Fila hands down. I have owned central Asian, wolf dog, Doberman, mastiff Dane, shepherd mix, akbash, working Saint Bernards, and Pyrenees’s mix. Anyway I have seen enough to know. There is nothing like a filas, maybe Caucasian Overcharka and Alabai pending blood lines. But still Filas Stand out as Men among boys. Turn to the Lord before it’s to late. Blessings
i own a fila brasileiro #1 family dog never growled at any of us ever but strangers cannot go near my dog at all unless hes off leash and im right beside him if hes in a car, house or on a chain or leash you cannot go near this dog he will rip you apart!!! nothing but love has been shown to my dog never had any training or ive never attacked him on anyone its just in his blood in his ojerize awsome breed only breed for life
Minor Bob when i say u can have him around the people he doesn't know i mean when hes outside on somone else's property as in their own house their very dangerous and attack mode 24/7 and even if muzzled they have very sharp claws and very heavy if they were to jump on someone
also id like to state my dog will not chase a person and attack if he got outside only if a person was to come close to him or his family other wise he will just watch in distance and make sure the stranger isnt coming towards us/him very smart dog
My dad use to have a Fila when I was a little boy he was really aggressive with strangers but pretty loyal to the family he’s name was Bush, my mom told my once I was playing in the yard and he was locked at his house we just let him loose during the nights and I was never alone with him cuz I was too young, but that day I did open the gate of his house and my mom thought I was too quiet outside and she went to check on me she said I was like a statue and Bush was walking around me like he was protecting me, he was a great dog but then my parents got divorced my dad took him to the farm he Brooke the chain went to the road and got run over by a big ol truck, whenever I’ll back to Brazil I’ll get one I do have a cattle dog to help me with work, and I’ll be need a good guard dog
Here in Brazil they were used by farm owners to look for fugitive slaves, to protect their owners of jungle animals (Jaguar, Pumas, Ocelots, Guará Wolves, Anacondas, when the dogs were in packs or other invaders, that is, an excellent watchdog) and, in addition to all this, he also helped to shepherd the cattle, not that he is a shepherd dog, but yes, he gave a little help with that too. A multifunctional dog, in addition to being very cute and fluffy!
In the dark ages of humanity when slavery was accepted. Among other things this dog was designed to keep the farm owner and his family safe. imagine a small family with young kids surrounded by dozens of slaves! it's sad but true!! this breed was raised in a very hostile environment with one goal, not dogfighting, not hunting pigs, but bite human beings who dare to threaten its family! Nowadays the breed temperament is much less aggressive! but some good breeders still have some of these "old school" lineages.
I like Fila brasileiros I'm planning on getting one, I would love to see somebody broke into a house with an untrained dog that untrained dog... everybody keep saying Rottweilers Dobermans etc etc are the dogs to have bulshit get a Fila and let's see how much somebody going to break into that house
Is there anyone who agrees with using a power harness some of the time and hold the leash yourself so the dog feels your tension ? People should get proper training before the dog gets the training, there is so much knowlegde out there...
Stop making this dog pulling from his nick you will nick problems. But good looking dogs and keep up the good work. If I was you I would use harness to do bite work with this dogs.
Best guard dog? Lol if that guy didn’t have a second leash the dog would be dragging that kid all over the place lol. Entire point of having a protection dog is that he stays next to you until the owner gives the command to go or the guy reaches for the owner or his property like a backpack or a purse. They actually shouldn’t be pulling like that at all my boys warn right next to me and won’t leave my side until I give the order to. Too much barking/excitement it should be precise and calm like a hunter.
A Rice Filas and Ovcharka are awful personal protection guard dogs because neither knows the difference between a threat and non threat. They are paranoid animals and they get stressed easily. The best dogs and most intelligent guard dogs are by far the boerboel.
Adriana A Bamfo you must mean "your" definition. A Fila is only good for close encounters first of all and Secondly Like I already said they are Horrible when it comes to telling the difference between telling threats and non threats. Filas are good for protecting small remote areas and for people that don't expect to have a lot of visitors. They are absolutely the wrong choice for a personal protection dog and they are Horrible at guarding Large areas as in several acres. Like I stated they are better at close encounters when it comes to guarding.
