I'm glad Dan takes his time with the consultation with these clients, this client basically had no idea what he wanted after Dan told him that his hair wasnt curly
My thought is that it's too much work to try and match the photo of a naturally wavy hair guy who isn't doing anything....he's just showing up. This stylist is a master but to me (naturally wavy/curly hair), your better off styling for the look, not cutting for the look. JMO.
I think it's looks over-styled tbh the guy didn't need it cut, looked better before, and most of the time I think the client always looks better after Dan does his work.
@@patrickbatman141 Definitely didnt look better before, was way too heavy the weight just hugged his head. The layers made the difference. Client is happy
This may be my favorite cut I’ve seen so far! Amazing work as always Dan. I think it was a perfect compromise of what the client wanted originally vs what the client was capable of having due to his hair type.
You guys should have a series or a playlist of just mens cuts for medium and long hair. Especially medium hair. Everywhere I go no haircutter knows how to style them and I’m in Miami! And guys are growing out their hair more than ever. There’s a very small amount of good professional videos of these kinds of cuts. Thanks a lot for the content.
Man, thats a professional, he listens to the client deeply and try the best to get to the dream haircut. My barber just chopp my hair off and I leave depressed and regreted!!
Before looked great, the after looks dodgy imo, too much product and an awkward shape but no offense to Dan most of the time his cuts are amazing. This just proves even the best of the best can drop the ball.
Kid was happy. Thats awesome. Looks great. So glad this generation of kids are letting hair grow out. Gives people more character imo. Best stylist in the world as always.
I thought it looked better before tbh, surprising because Dan mostly always ends up making clients look better. This guy should of kept it the way it was or gone shorter.
Love Santiago's face at the end, like i knew we could pull it off sort of lol, amazing what Dan could do with his type of hair, and those scissor sounds keep me coming back lol
New subscriber 🇨🇦, Dan is awesome at what he does. I think I'll drive over to his studio immediately for a much needed pandemic haircut. 😎 What? He's in England.
All the people saying it's a bad haircut clearly doesn't know anything about hair. Dan styled it the way his client requested which is a messy/curly look. The final styling doesn't define the whole haircut, styling can be changed countless times depending on the product used. And I'm sure it will look good without any product as well judging by the way he cut it.
I've been growing my hair out like this for over a year now. I've got wavy hair and my back is starting to curl excessively so I need to go get a trim soon. One thing I noticed is my stylist does not go in-depth on sectioning my hair and layering very well it seems. She just always trim the ends but doesn't seem to check the layers even though I ask her to do so. Maybe need to find another stylist?
Thank you for these videos! ❤ I have a 14yo boy with sensory issues&tourettes who has not let anyone cut his hair for about a year (I mostly did his fades before that and on rare occasions I could get him to trust a hairdresser to cut it) and it's a shaggy shoulder length, and now suddenly he wants me to trim it and I'm SO SCARED!! Like... I'm a gardener and an accountant! I can't be trusted with a teenager's mid length hair! But I feel more confident after watching a bunch of these vids, maybe I can give him a trim without "totally RUINING HIS LIIIIFEE". Wish me luck.. 🙄🙏
Mate was very confused about his hairstyle 😂 but i think he was trying to say that he wanted to keep the length just want a regukar trim without losing length plus he wants to add texture and layers into his hair Its pretty normal because you care about your hair and dont want barber to make a mess but with a barber like you its not gonna happen for sure 😂❤❤
Am I the only one who thinks this looks bad? One of the few times I think the guy looked better before Dan gives the cut. The before looks clean, casual and healthy, the after looks greasy, over-styled and full of breakage. Also the majority of guys including myself look better with an off-centre parting or side parting rather than the hair being brushed straight back or centre parted but he looked better when his hair was parted in the centre as it was in the before rather than brushed backwards as it was in the after, probably due to his hairline being that very strong v shape, the centre parting balanced it. I'd grow that back to how it was originally or go for a shorter cut tbh. Goes to show someone as talented as Dan doesn't always get it right.
I thought Dan try to give the guy what he wanted to begin with , the Timothee curls , but the guys hair it too straight to do that without alot of styling and I don't see him doing that everyday. I thought there was too much clay in the hair and it lost its natural flow , Dan should have gone with hi first instint to trim it to even and connect the layers .
@@lolaottinger6976 There isn't any but it just looks like there's loads of it because of the texture that was added I suppose, before the haircut his hair looked much healthier and flowed rather than sitting in a scruffy mess.
@@davidgreen424 Exactly, the whole point of long hair is it being easy to style and looking effortless, the guy styling his hair like this everyday is the complete opposite of that. The product made the front of his hair look oily and clumpy.
Hello mate I'm really struggling with my hair IV been growing it out now for around 1 half years with the occasional trim, but I'm looking for a really good hair dresser and some professional advice, please can you help
I currently have a mullet and the back part has been growing for almost 8 or 9 months maybe. I’m not sure whether the mullet suits me anymore and I’m unsure whether to grow out the rest of the hair to like a flow or Liam Gallagher 90s cut or cut it to a generic short on sides messy top
I dont get why this man cant have the Tim Chalamet hair style. A curl cream or mousse would help with curls. You can get these styles with some care and time
Regal gent and/ or dan do you think you can achieve similar look with salt spray ? Which would you say makes hair look thicker ? Obvs i guess clay has more hold. My hair is similar and use salt spray an always looks a bit like I just got up or slept in a bush lol
Mate if he came in and said what he said to you I don’t think I’d have the patience. Some dude just think you can work miracles🤣 I’d just tell him to keep on growing it like the pic and use a diffuser
Keep it long if you like it! Just have some shape and texture added! Get it balanced out. Thick hair has a tendency to grow out rather than down so needs some maintenance!
Just out of curiousity, with the original length quite long, couldn't he have had his hair curled? I was thinking perhaps he could have gone for a slight perm to add waves and then got it cut & styled after that?
His hair is too fine n thin to have the surf dude curly medium length hair style, cause his kind of hair will not be able to create that VOLUME N BODY that a surf guy has
Clients like these are annoying asf lmao but you really gotta work with them when they want a haircut but then again they don’t wanna cut any hair off like what?? lol
