I've had it for awhile now...amazing battery life, and great performance as well. Didn't think I'd use the Android gaming at all, but I did...just an AWESOME handheld.
It really is a phenomenal handheld This is the one everyone dreamed of back when the RP2+ started getting people wondering about effortless PS2, Gamecube, 3DS, and even now Switch I still like to chase smaller handhelds that can do more systems like the RG28XX but I'm fully satisfied with the Odin 2 taking the crown in the android class
The OG odin was the reason why I got a Steam Deck. I did the math and said well at $300 if I add another $100 I could pay older PC games on top of everything else.
Yea the sd are so worth it, i compared everything on the market in where i am right now and i either would have gone for sd,rally, lenovogo or onexplayer mini pro. I endednup going with the oled. All tho there ally even cheaper than my sd oled. I just like the screen and since ally has sd cards problem and just rlly bad battery made me get a sd oled. I've tried all 3 and i rlly like the ally power but its just not worth the drawbacks just like legion go.
Absolutely love my Odin 2. Thing is a beast. From playing older games like Pokemon up to games like kingdom hearts 2 this is absolutely worth the money I spent. (Pro)
Have the max model and have to say, I’m more than impressed with the results. Have everything from emulators to Steam Link and while there are a few hiccups, I say it’s more than worth the investment
I'll keep an eye on this. I would love a device purely for emulation tbh but it's a lot just for that for me right now. Still, it's on my radar and when I can I definitely can imagine buying it one day. Thank you for this detailed video and comparisons to Steam Deck and Rog Ally.
When retroid pocket 4 and 4 pro came out, I was also looking at anbernic and ayn products. Anbernic devices were weaker, for similar prices. Ayn seemed astronomically more expensive. I decided to wait for the rp5. But now that its on the horizon, the price is only a little less than the Odin 2. I'm starting to lean towards Odin 2 pro, more and more.....
Problem for my end is that steam deck isn't officially available in my region so we have to deal with resellers. Right now, the stocks for the lcd version has dried up. Rog ally is too expensive, so I think the odin 2 is indeed the best handheld avaioable in my case at least.
ROM files are from cartridge based systems. ROMs can be compressed to zip and played. ISO cannot ISO is disc based systems. ISO can be compressed to CHD and played
@@olinafan4459 Lmao RP4 Pro can't even hold a candle to Odin 2 base model. There's a reason why Odin 2 is considered the king of android handhelds. 😂😂😂
Even tough emulation station is better than Daijisho ITS A PAIN to organize your library when you have multi disc games and updates and what not. File types are too specific and when you have a very old and robust collection it becomes too complex to get it right on emulation station
I really enjoy 3DS emulation and have been playing a lot of Dragon Quest VIII on Odin 2. I'm still even just impressed with that. I need to try more PS2 emulation using the Nether application vs AetherSX. I have found that some of my older Android games like Dead Cells and Alto's Adventure were having memory leak issues, but I suspect this is because they are older titles on Android and not hardware related. But, then again, I did not experience those issues on the Logitech Gcloud
Heyy are all 3DS pokemon games fully playable?? Because my main goal is to play all pokemon games from GBC, GBA, DS,3DS and SWITCH So is the Odin 2 able to do that? Or should I just stick with buy a new 3DS XL, which I can definitely play ALL GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS pokemon games. Which do you think would be a better choice? ODIN 2 or new 3DS XL?
@@Blue_Tsuki if your goal is those specific systems then I would get the new 3ds XL. Citra emulator can have glitches, it's not the Odin's fault it's the 3ds emulator. Odin can run nearly everything perfectly. But a homebrew 3ds XL is magical. Just make sure you get the NEW 3ds XL because the NEW version has not ram which you need to evaluate SNES properly and play the full 3ds library. A regular 3ds XL won't do it.
Was at odds with which handheld to get - from Steam Deck, Aya Neo Pocket S, to Analogue Pocket. This seems to tick all the boxes, plus I just bought the custom Playstation buttons (before buying the portable) so I guess I’m locked in 😂
How can i get android port of doom 3? I've been playing half life 2 on my odin 2, this odin is the best handheld I've ever even held. Its truly fantastic!
You don’t need the Odín 2 if you just want to play ps2 games i have the Odín pro and have 62 games op and running perfectly I just bought one used for $150🤘😎
It seems like an expensive option for only retro games....most don't take a lot of power. I would go for the Pocket 4 pro. The Steam Deck is just too big.
I wouldn't touch it with the battery swelling issues. It's not worth the risk, I'll just buy something with proper QA even if it is a little more expensive; beats a cheap Chinese battery exploding after a few months 🤯
Yeah its too expensive, I really was thinking about one, but its at the point where i can buy a steam deck in australia. Plus no warranty support locally, god knows how long shipping is. But basically buying a second hand phone with these specs is cheaper.

@@Techcraversouhhh so basically all pokemon games up till 3DS is plays fully, just that switch pokemon games is not 100%? Hmmm 🤔🤔 basically the same as the new 3DS XL(but only just without switch games) If you got to choose between Odin 2 and new 3DS XL Which would you choose? With like the aim for pokemon gaming
@@Blue_Tsuki If your goal is to play ALL your pokemon games from GB to 3DS on one system, then Odin 2 is the obvious choice :) But 3DS Pokemon games will be slightly better in native mode on a 3DS XL.
@@Techcravers niceee! Thank so much for helping make the decision what to buy! I guess I will go with odin 2 since it will also play the same all pokemon games from GBC to 3DS, and I can also play most the switch games and psp games as an additional bonus! So ya thank once again mate! Truly appreciated it! Imma SUBCRIBE for more great contents and informations! Keep up the good work! 💪🏻🙌🏻💯
This is a valid point although considering the chip it’s using as well as everything else inside, it’s hard to see it coming down too much for pricing. I have both and while the Odin 2 is excellent for battery and portability, if you don’t need that then the Deck does far more and it does everything better.
There is no other system or phone with this chips you can buy for this price, not even close. This thing has very good dpad and thumsticks, none of those Switch's sticks crap and average dpad. Simply unbeatable, that's why it is King.
@@jakesmith5278 I think this performs at the very top of its class and so much so that it is priced and compared to the next class up. As an android emulator nothing compares but this also falls well short of the capabilities of a steam deck as well.
@@SmartFool24 For that price I would go for the Steam D, but it is too bulky to carry around. Ill keep waiting I guess, or perhaps if the Steam decided to release a slim version. then ill be in for it :) Cheers.
This looks more comfortable than steam deck, steam deck controller seems ugly but wonder if it’s better than the rog but as a handheld like the feel of it especially if you just want up to ps2 it looks more appealing. I wish I was rich so I could try all of them like these RU-vidrs lol
@@blues05i get the battery but realistically the sd can play 2 to 3 hours of modern aaa games smoothly and at least 6 hours if only emulating systems up to ps2, and you can even newer systems. The question is, is that not enough for a handheld ? Why not just pay more and get an overall better and more futureproof product ?
@@last5902 Steam Deck is as useless as a housefly to me! Why? Because I have a PC and I don't wanna play any triple A titles in a blurry subpar 800P and most importantly in less than 60 fps. Couldn't stand those! The Odin 2 Pro is the closest perfect handheld for me in terms of design wise, spec wise and power efficiency wise. I know exactly what it can do and I'm super happy about it.
@@blues05 I actually don't hear this point a lot but I totally agree. Steam deck's power is mostly only good to me for ps3 and 360 emulation and that's only because they just aren't on android. I don't wanna play AAA games and have them look like shit and run at 30 fps lol. Also for me the steam deck is so massive and heavy with such poor battery life I kinda put it in a category of "semi-portable". I don't really consider it a true handheld but that's just me. I still always say if you don't mind the size and battery life the deck is absolutely amazing and a very easy pick, but it's not for everyone
