BEST HAWAII SPEARFISHING TRIP of my LIFE!

This video follows one of the most epic Hawaii spearfishing days of my life with Justin Lee. We start the mission at 10 pm and after a long run suit up and dive for lobster late into the night. When we've got enough we fish menpachis till sunrise and then catch an hour of sleep while the boat trolls. We wake up and suit up again and immediately get on some insane ono (wahoo) and uku (job fish) action. Fish are everywhere and we have an epic time. In the 90s those pinnacles had choke ono nice to see they still holding fish. I miss those good old days. Nice to see still get lobsters out there. I remember diving when literally every boulder had a lobster those days are far gone. Would love to see a huge dozer lobster again. 11lb in the pot. More butter please. Stay safe aloha keakua

Great vid! The species is Panulirus Cygnus, common name is Australian spiny lobster. In Northern Queensland where I’m from they’re referred to as champagne or coral crays, I’ve heard people call them painted crays further south. They are prolific on remote islands off Australia like Lorde Howe island and Northfolk Island and They’re also the only cray I know of that you find on coral sea reefs so it would make a lot of sense that you find them on remote reefs in Hawaii

Hey Ryan, I just starting to really get into spearing and I've noticed that i'm having trouble with getting effectiveness out of my fins. I only use short bodyboarding fins at the moment but I'm trying to figure out whether i should get plastic blades or carbon blades although the carbon fins are quite expensive. If you could give some advice that would be awesome! Also great video, I learn so much from all your videos, keep it up!
