I have the Q900RB and my Alienware connected to the TV on the HDMI port 4 and it plays in 8K HDR. The app on our TVs hasn't been updated to 8K yet but my computer is working amazingly well.

@@jennifergala What video card do you have that can put 8k out through the HDMI Port?

This video is far from HDR10, and it's 2K, not even 4K. If that's on YT or not, I don't know. YT compresses the living shit out of videos, so I couldn't imagine HDR10+ support without first butchering the image quality (and colors, since they're at it). Never expect an accurate representation of anything related to video on YT, only if you could get the source file before having been uploaded. Sorry for rant.

I have one and I can't believe what I'm seeing. Incredible. A 3D like effect with 4000 nits of brightness. Color pops. Incredible.

Is compatible with older TVs thanks to RU-vid it supports all kind of resolutions. If you had an 8K TV it will default to 8K HDR.

@@jennifergala How do we know it's youtube since I can also use Nvidia DSR or watch all video in 4k in any player ? I think my old TV just stretch down the image with its own algorithm. But I noticed 99% of HDR videos seems to have much lower brightness then this one

@@newuser2007b well if you go on a desktop or laptop and click on the video you will see that it supports resolutions from 240K to 4320K be it 8K. On my Nvidia Shield it plays 4K by default not in HDR. My Roku plays also 4K n'y default and in HDR if it is available. So yes is RU-vid is compatible with almost everything. This particular video I mastered in 4000 nits that's why is brighter. Other videos at 1000 or 2000 nits.

​@@jennifergala Of course the resolutions are "compatible" with youtube. But what is great is that you managed to put enough nits to make it good on an old TV. But it also show that non HDR videos works much better on regular display. I just hope we get HDMI 2.1 because HDMI 2.0b is NOT enough to display HDR + 4K 4:4:4. HDMI 2.0b needs to lower the color or the resolution. Which is completely nuts when you see the price of OLED QLED and stuff like theses

Thank you it was recorded at 4000 nits my 8K QLED is displaying 3500 nits at peak 10% window. It depends the TV actually. On an OLED it displays 850 nits. Thx.

@@jennifergala Ok thanks it was dim on my sony 930E55 and that tv get bright but not like yours but what is strange it was brighter on my LGE6 65 oled tv than my 930E maybe its my setting on sony but my 930E does get brighter than my oled on some movies.

@@RKoen2006 Hello again. I know that there's an ABL setting mode that LG OLED uses and it dims the entire screen when there are large bright areas. Maybe your Sony perhaps a similar setting that needs to be disabled in order to achieve brighter results? In any case only the 8K Samsung can go up to 4000 nits. The rest of TVs max they can achieve is 2000 nits OLED being the lowest at max 1000 to 1300 nits.

930 is an ancient tv get with the technology

My 8K TV has 8K RU-vid. Check it out on your Chrome browser on your desktop just click 8K.

RU-vid does support 8k, hence why it has an 8k option. You might not be seeing it due to your settings possibly.
