Hey Boys! This vid is set to premier so you guys know which vids are dropping on my channel this month (just like a TV guide). Hit the SET REMINDER button and I'll see you when the vid goes live :) I know premier vids can be hard to deal with and incredibly hurtful to some of my subscribers so here's an extra vid to make up for it. You guys are tha real ones
Yep, if they just tweak the gain in software on the device most of the problems are solved. Ha, the only people I know that turn off the bike in an underground carpark are trying to dodge the security.
I did have a giggle at your comment about Gopro being the best given the amount of people having problems with the 9. I think that camera with an independent mic would be a good starter rig, plenty of people still using older gopro's with this set up
Nah the audio issues are because the mic is too sensitive so the audio clips when it peaks. A wind sock would only clean up wind noise but there's almost none at all when the visor is closed so wind isn't an issue
Hey Adrian, great video. Was your visor was tinted also, giving the cambox a different tint on the world than the gopro? Also hard to figure out but what are the depth dimensions. Trying to work out whether it would fit inside a shoei gt air. They have the internal visor. It would fit inside most helmets I'm sure. Thanks for your great content. Love your no bullshit commentary about things.
Hey mate the Cambox has a very yellow tint to the footage however you can adjust it in the settings on the app. I'm using it with its default settings. Regarding dimensions it's hard to explain so instead I'll post a pic with measurements on my Instagram later today. Head over there. Hope it helps 🙌
Mate what set up do you have for your gopro I run a 8 but trying to find stuff to motovlog with is impossible or im just not using the right word 🤣. I.e external mics, battery packs (I find the battery are shit in the gopros) stuff like that. Any advice would be awesome.
Just a Hero7 with Gopro mic adapter and a SportsMyk Pro with a deadcat right near my mouth. No battery backs or external audio recorders. Simple setup, easy to use and reliable
Hey AJ would it still be able to be velcroed to the top of the helmet if you have an integrated drop down sun visor??. As a dash cam does the job 101% thanks again for your time doing these vlogs.
Hey bro. Nah I don't think it would work with and internal visor as the whole camera is horse shoe shaped/curved and quite wide/flat. Search my channel for "motorcycle dash cam". I'm still running one on my bike which has been flawless over the past year. It's It's HalocamM1
Yeah I rock the hero7 every day of the week for professional filming. If the cambox was around back in 2014 that might be a different story. I would have lived a discrete cam back then. Thanks for the comment 👍
@@AdjrianNickelodeon 100 percent man. As far as an everyday dash cam though I can see the appeal with the cambox, it’s way more discrete than a GoPro hanging off your helmet hey. In terms of video quality, especially in low light like that carpark, there’s no denying the GoPro is the best choice for professional videos
@@AdjrianNickelodeon I think it may track back to a law about helmet modifications. Some states won't allow them in general, others recognise that helmet cams can break away so are not a permanent mod impacting safety. I'd say it's an exercise in ass covering.
It's so weird that they're advertising specifically to the horse niche instead of anything with a helmet. Like they're trying to shoot themselves in the foot.
That's where they started. Equestrian. I think they're now starting to expand to every helmet from there. Still early days for CamBox. Too much growth too quickly without the correct processes will probably cripple them? Idk, just thinking out loud..
I am at the 5:47 mark and still watching. What I notice is there is way less ambient/white noise with the GoPro than with the Cambox V4 Pro. The video seems very comparable. Looking at their website ($475US for V4 Pro) they have some good options. Oh wow! In the end, you can really see a difference in the video (garage and overcast). The Cambox has a sort of orangish, yellowish, or amber hue. I wonder if you could stick a layer of mic padding over the front and back microphones to reduce the ambient noise. The mic seems to be more audible than the GoPro so getting rid of the ambient noise would go a long way for the V4 Pro versus the GoPro. The only thing I don't like is the significant difference in recording life. Granted, their website shows bicyclists and horseback riders using the camera. I don't know a lot of people who'd spend more than an hour on horseback or bicycling. I like your idea of using the camera for witness evidence in accidents and pullovers - this suggests in-city use versus highway use (shorter rides under the 45-minute battery life).
Let's be honest here, the Cambox helmet cam is hot trash. The audio sucks as much as the video quality. The only use for it is for dashcam type footage for insurance claims. Comparing it to a gopro is pretty silly cause Gopro is made to take amazing video. The only win it has against gopro is the fact it sits in the helmet. The audio can't be compared at all, of course you have to get an external microphone set up, but every professional camera rig does. The cambox literally clips on you talking. And for the price it's an absolute joke, couldn't justify it at all. Unless you wanted an overpriced dashcam
That's pretty much exactly what I said in this vid thanks for watching the vid all the way through and providing a summary of what I said for everyone 🙌😊 again.. great dash cam solution for anyone who doesn't want a camera on the outside of their helmet. The cambox isn't geared towards a professional use camera situation 🙏 also, price is subjective. What's an independent witness worth to you in court vs no camera at all (even no Gopro)?
