I live in Gaithersburg, MD and grew up in Poolesville, MD which is right next to Dickerson. Most of the Mom and Pop restaurants in Gaithersburg have been pushed out because of high rent. The Hot Italian Sub and an AL's Birch Beer fountain soda at Giuseppe's in Gaithersburg and The Dutch Market in Germantown are amazing. ***Update: Giuseppie's has Pepsi products now and no longer has Al's Birch Beer.***
Hi Kevin, I live in Houston and we're in Baltimore decided to take a drive to Dickerson Market. Solely based on your review AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. YES, BEST. FRIED. CHICKEN. PERIOD.
You need to go to Amish Country to try their fried Chicken and pass around style buffet style. Best trip I ever had as a kid living in Maryland and I still remember that taste!
About Started to Cry... My Grandma's (dad's mom)House is in Buckeystown (Urbana) facing SugarLoaf... I think you drove right by it. My Nanny (mom's mom)use to take me to Jimmie Cone when I was single digit years old in the 90s. She still lives in Monrovia ( Damascus)... Figures, because I have lived in FL for over 20 years now.
Awesome reviews! Ive lived in Maryland for nearly my whole life and ive only heard of (& had) Ledo's pizza. I'm definitely going to try the other spots though!
I always thought Jimmy cone was kind of overrated. Maybe I just took it for granted because i had it all the time. But working at Carroll Hospital in Westminster I had Hoffman's for the first time... 🤤🔥🔥🔥🔥 fantastic!
We literally left Disney to come home to Gaithersburg, MD same day on the earlier Jet Blue flight. We love your vendors. Your pacing and editing is spot on. Love your Maryland videos. I wonder if Dickerson Market remembers Dickerson Quarry. Filled with water and became the biggest watering hole for cliff jumping.
Stoney’s (now called The Pier) for fried crab cakes in Calvert County MD, or the Edgewater Restaurant in Edgewater, MD for crabcake but order it broiled there.
You need to do Baltimore Maryland spots please. Iconic pit beef here in Baltimore is always fantastic. Matthew’s pizza on Eastern Ave in downtown Baltimore is amazing and they have been doing pizza since 1943.
You were about eight doors away from BlackHog BBQ in Urbana---the real gem in that exact same shopping strip, sir. (Shout out to Urbana Dance!). Ledo's in MD is fine---but also a dime a dozen. Guiseppe's in the Kentlands is basically the same price point and crushes.
Back in the 80’s Me and John Lewis parked at jimmy cone, got hot dogs and cokes, ran across the street with 6 eggs each to the back of McDonalds parking lot and egged the Montgomery County Police car that was sitting down the hill in the shopping center parking lot. We ran back across the street, got back into my buddy’s 79’ Bronco XLT, ate our hot dogs, and watched that cop roll up and down the street looking for us! RIP John Lewis
Harvest Chicken in Lisbon, MD Family owned and ran Tommy the owner is my moms cousin also Sunshine Gas & Grille in Sunshine, MD got the Best Burgers ever !!!
I'm in Fl. now but used to go to Schears market on 175 & rt 1. They had the best cold cut subs and i always got the hots. A lot of guards from the pen. went there but it caught on fire and is out of business.and don't know what is there now.
Gotta try suicide bridge restaurant gotta try Bloody Mary from crab cake factory in ocean city gotta try so many restaurants in OC definitely try sellos and marlin moon grille
Firstly, the countryside is so beautiful there... that dessert looked at least as delicious as you described. The thighs are where it's at, housing the most tender nugget on every one, then wings, that's all for me 😋. I looooove a soft serve mixed cone with chocolate sprinkles. Where I used to live on LI, Carvel was King. Simpler times.
Jimmy Cantlers InGrano Full On Saigon Palace (trust me on this one) Timbuktu Senor Chile Black Market Sailor They are all one offs or just a couple of locations. There are more but these come to mind for me personally.
