Thanks for making this video. I used to own a pair of Shure SE215's but lost them a while back and need some new replacements. The SE215's were pretty good but I found they lacked a little detail and depth of bass. Having had a look at your video I'm torn between the KZ ZS10 Pro and TFZ T2. Whichever model I end up going for I would look to upgrade the ear tips and cable. How do these compare to the Shure SE215? Which has the least harsh sound? Thanks

Switched from 215's to KZ AS10's today, and wow! They sound significantly better. Personally I don't agree that 215's are comfortable and an easy fit... I've been struggling to keep them in my ears for years now, constantly having to push them back in to get a seal and hear the low end, no matter which tips I use. I'm really impressed with the AS10's, which sound significantly better to me, and kept a perfect seal all service.

I’m assuming you probably tried a few of the different size/material tips with the 215s? I am fortunate that I’ve never had an issue with the 215s (or 315s); I found the foam tips to be the best for getting rid of stage noise and are incredibly comfortable, I’ve worn them for literally hours on end with no issues. I did a huge gig (like 30,000 people) that was about 2 hours long. They stayed put despite my head banging, stage noise was a minimum (guitar cabs maxed out around me, I was playing my drums as hard and loud as I could), and I heard everything I needed to at a comfortable volume level. I’m glad the AS10s are working out for you though! I think my next step is custom molded stuff, I just don’t want to drop the coin for it lol

I have been using Shure SE215’s with custom mould sleeves for a few years. They have served their purpose but due to the moulds not fitting properly anymore I needed to either get new moulds or try something new. Whilst the SE215’s + custom mould sleeves served their purpose, I haven’t been totally satisfied with them and after watching this and other videos I decided to try the newer KZ ZS10 Pro-X and so far I have to say I’m extremely impressed with these. They are a complete step up from the SE215’s in sound and surprisingly they fit better and I get better isolation from external sources. They also stay in place better than the custom moulds!

I've had the MX2 Pros for a year and a half and wouldn't recommend Mee Audio. After almost a year I noticed the right side volume was much less than the right. They replaced them under warrantee. When I got the new one the left had much lower volume, they replaced that one. After another 6 months the right side is going out again. Their lifetime replacement program now requires that you pay for half the cost, so $50 to pay for headphones that should last longer than 6 months. I will never by Mee audio products again.

I did a similar test of budget (>100 $) IEMs when my church switched to in ear monitoring. I wanted to be able to give recommendations to our volunteers and actually set up a little test fitting and listening night. Models that I’ve tested are: KZ ZST KZ ZS10 MEE M6 Pro Tin T2 Tin T2 Plus SE215 BASN Bsinger BASN Bmaster IE 40 Pro (now IE 100 Pro) Honestly, I’m baffled by some of the positive ratings you’re giving. Here’s why: I let our volunteers try the IEMs out without giving them my opinions or telling them the prices. The consensus after about 30 minutes was: Sonically, the KZ ZST and M6 Pro are utter trash. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. And I’ve tried multiple specimens of the ZSTs. Their sound signature is borderline useless because it’s an absurd V-shape. The M6 Pros have a pretty wonky frequency response and sound pretty harsh. No one liked either of these. The ZS10 suffer from the same problem as many IEMs in this price range: ...you know, not bad, but... there’s just something off about them. Sibilant sounding, and a frequency response that’s just weird enough for me to not love them. Interestingly none of our volunteers liked the SE215 either. I think their days are over (and they should be). The only ones that stood out as genuinely good sounding (both in terms of balance and clarity) were the T2 Plus (VERY impressive, even compared to my 64 Audio A3e they’re decent), the BASN Bmaster (not perfect, and on the "warmer" side, but still clear sounding and a sure way of getting a balanced, clear sound), and the IE 40 Pro - which have a pretty silly 10k emphasis to be fair, but other than that they sound pleasant and neutral enough. Plus, they are really small which is a must for a lot of women. Their only downside is that their silicone tipy don’t isolate well and they only come with medium-sized foam tips.

@rickbiessman6084 Год назад
@@EthanRom Oh man, I feel ya. Honestly I don’t believe in IEMs for specific use cases, but I play electric guitar with a variety of tones, so I can recommend the BASN Bmaster. If you would like something with a little more treble (kinda hifi-sounding, but in a good way) check out the Tin T2 Plus (not T2 Pro). They’re AMAZING for the money, and in my opinion amazing period. Kinda made me question whether it’s necessary to spend more than $100 on IEMs. My 64 Audio A3e are definitely better, but nowhere near 13 times as good.

Question from a musician who plans to play on stages again very soon (delusional, right?😂): I ordered a pair of KZ ZSN Pro X and the sound is incredible, especially for the price. Highs feel a bit harsh at times but what truly worries me is how much louder most KZ models are to more well known brand IEM’s. As in they can go so loud they could easily mess up your hearing and when you’re being mixed by an engineer that assumes your IEM’s have “normal” loudness sensitivity things could get quite dangerous. zst x user here and i've gigged with them for years as a guitarist/singer. Trying to find a pair to try as an "upgrade" not that i need it, more just for more enjoyment if i can find a pair. I like the subs to kick, the highs and mids to be smooth - any recommendations let me know! :)

So I'm an guitar player at church, and couldn't decide between KZ ZST or KZ ZSN pro in ear monitors, which do you think I could buy for myself?
@JohnClarkW
@JohnClarkW 3 года назад
Go with the KZ ZSN pro, it has much clearer mid-range that you want for guitar. The ZST is sort of a V shape.

I think it is very important to consider what you are going to use the in-ears for. I bought the KZ ZS10 PRO based on David's review, but sent it back a day later. I mainly use the earphones as a musician and I experience the bass as way too loud with too much sound pressure to play comfortably. With my Shure SE535 in-ears (of which 1 earpiece is now broken) I could play keys or bass guitar for hours without any problems with my ears or an unpleasant feeling. So the KZ ZS10 PRO indeed have a sublime sound, but for live performance it is all a bit too much
@guillemfernandez2754
@guillemfernandez2754 2 года назад
My shure se535 also broke the R side!!! the L side is failing all the time. Considering the ZS10 pro, i play 7 strings guitars and low tunes, so maybe i need volume and definition on the bass.

True I guess. Had the shure 425 i think it was which for just listening to music was complete GARBAGE considering the price

I bought the KZ ZS10 Pros about 6 months ago. Something to consider for those of us with small ears, is the actual size of ear-buds. I can't use these, at all. They will not stay in my ears. They do sound good, but only briefly because they start slipping out. The SE215s that came with my unit stay in better. Not great, but better. Someday, I REALLY should try a molded set, but they aren't free.

Buy the Moondrop “Chu”. It’s tiny and fits great with the new Moondrop Springtips. It’s also only $20, but it’s got a huge sound for that $20.

Thanks for the great video! I’m wondering what you’d recommend for smaller ears. I’m a guitarist who’s 5’6”, so me ears are on the smaller side,but not to the extreme. This will be my first IEM purchase, so I want to stay under $100 until I know if will permanently get rid of floor monitors. I’ve been considering the Shure SE215, Sennheiser IE 100, KZ ZS10 Pro, CCA C12 and BASN Bmaster, among others. Do you have any thoughts on these, or maybe a different option altogether? I appreciate your work…it’s really well done!

If you would buy only one IEM for yourself and the choice is between KZ ZS10 Pro, CCA C10 Pro, CCA C12 and KZ ZSX which ones would you buy? And that you own and that you have only heard KZ ZSN Pro X. To emphasize that KZ ZS10 Pro, CCA C10 Pro, CCA12 I have at the same price of $ 30 only for KZ ZSX I should add about $ 5 more

What about sound isolation? I'm a drummer and I'm looking for something that will protect my ears. Everyone talks about audio quality but not so much on sound isolation, is this because it doesn't vary much? Will they all do a good job?

How are the IE 100s compared to the IE 40 pro? I am trying to decide between these two options, IE 40 pro Clear or IE 100 pro Black. I like the clear look, and the 100s are around 11% more expensive in my country... I wil use them on stage in church (I play electric guitar) and for listening casual music with my phone while in public transport.. which ones would you take?

I got thoes kz pro x I use them when I'm just playing around with stuff when I'm playing guitar but I've never actually played live so idk how they work on stage but they work great for when you use them on your computer when recording or practicing for me 🤘🏻🤘🏻 downside is I'm in Canada so they were $40 so thoes are pretty much mid range in Canadian dollar

I know maybe a newbie question as I never dig into those type of headphones I’m always listening music using apple wired EarPods and they produce the best sound experience for me out of all headphones I have ever tested. Do those monitors provide even better sound quality than apple EarPods?

Hello, I'm a violinist, and I have the most expensive news kz, And sometimes the violin will go into distortion in the ears, I would love to recommend headphones that fit the violin, and most importantly since I need to hear all the musicians I have on stage, so I also need headphones that can accommodate all the musicians with the stage, and give me a pleasant sound in the ear. And that headphones will not collapse from the load of musicians inside the headset. I would love your recommendation?

i fully disagree with all of the kz, ive listen to most of them listed on here and they dont come nowhere near the "best under 100" by a mile. they all basically sound the same with slight nuances in the sound theyre def not worth it the only one id recommend is the zex pro really
