I did my engineering in 2019 in India and I am 27 now. Still figuring out what to do in life. I had a special place for Islamic studies in my heart, but I couldn't pursue it academically coz of lack of good options and the society pressure to become an engineer/doctor etc. I want to study Islamic subjects. Do I have a future in there? Or I have do it on my own like a self taught scholar?

The last interviewee, he is br. Sajjad isnt he? He taught me introduction to sociology in 2020 but because it was during the critical times of COVID and we were all at home, we didn't get to meet him face-to-face. But I remember his class so much because his teaching has left a very good impression on me. He was humble, patient, and managed to make me understand and appreciate what IIUM's Islamization and integration are all about. At that time if I was not mistaken, he was doing his PhD (and I'm not sure if he has completd it or is still doing it) so probably he was substituting for another lecturer, because when I searched for him in the academic staff list, he was not there. I just wanted to say thank you for being patient with us (I know that teaching online, especially when we students turned-off our cameras and were unresponsive, is very frusturating) and making me appreciate Islam more - through sociology ;)
