Heading towards 2022 this is our review of the beginner motorbikes that Harley has had from electric balance bikes through to petrol motocross bikes - and all ridden as an under 3 year old!
We talk about what we think are the best bikes for kids to help them get into motorcross - and starting out at a very young age safely!
Whatever you do, listen to this: 'Don't rush the process' - even if they seem to be out-riding a bike in a few weeks of ownership, the faster motocross bikes like KTM mini and Husky mini, the SX and similar are very very fast bikes that are difficult for a beginner to control... it could end up scaring them and putting them off bikes altogether! We're not pro at motocross, or teaching kids to ride... but we've been told this by many others who have been doing this way longer than us... and that advice has done us well so far as Harley still loves his bikes and asks for them every day!

OUR OPINION - by no means endorsed by the bike manufacturers themselves!
Revvi 12 inch - best for riders approx. 2-5 years (or 90cm - 110cm tall)
Kuberg Start - best for riders approx. 2-5 years (or 95cm - 110cm tall)
Oset MX10 - best for riders approx. 3-7 years (or 100cm - 120cm tall)
PW50 - best for riders approx. 3-7 years (or 100cm - 120cm tall)
Revvi 16+ - best for riders approx. 3+ years (or 100cm tall upwards, once the rider reaches above 40kg the bike speed is much lower and the battery drains faster - otherwise if you're stood up to ride it and you're within the 50kg weight limit enjoy the ride!)
Many of the manufacturers of the bikes listed above state they're for 3years+ 4years+ etc but go by what your kid is capable of (and their height)... if (for example) they're 6 and struggling to balance a pedal bike then it's best not to jump right in for an Oset MX10. Start them out learning the balance using a Revvi... have I said how much I love the Revvi??!!! I LOVE THE REVVI BIKE!!
