Hey Bob, I see you have a Subaru Outback, I'm looking to purchase a 2025 Yamaha FX HO Cruiser with the new SMC fiber Glass Hull wihich is alittle heavier than the NanoXcel hull you have on your FX HO cruiser, and was wondering how well my 2023 Subaru forester will pull it. I think the maxium weight it pulls is 1500 lbs so with a 200 lb trailer and a fully filled up Yamaha FX HO i'm guessing maybe 1300 lbs. My subaru only has 182 hp and 176 lbs of torque. Your Thoughts?

Yes we are a Subaru family… with the Outback with the twin turbo 4 I pull the ski long distances with zero issues. I suspect even though you have the smaller engine you will also have zero issue maybe just a bit slower to get up to speed from a stop. The AWD aspect of Subarus is a huge benefit on the ramp! Doubt a few more pounds in the ski will make any difference. Thanks for watching and commenting. Bob

285 hours. Ron, a guide in Naples area has over 1100 on his skies and they look better than mine! With proper care, these motors appear bulletproof!I assume you have seen this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5MMh0zLP__M.html

Awesome! You’re ridin’ with Sea Doo guys now but no Kawis at least 😂. Thanks for sharing. We need to get you guys down to Gasparilla Island / Boca Grande / Cabbage Key / Captiva, etc. Lots of history to explore. As a boy, I used to go swimming in Lake George and one of those damned water moccasins swam right between me and my brother. Way before cell phones, I’m not even sure our parents knew we were swimming - would have been dead. Didn’t matter, we went swimming in lots of Fl lakes and rivers because when you’re young and raised yourselves like we did, you’re dumb. Beautiful chain of lakes for sure.

Great video! I took your recommendation and picked up a FX. what a great ski. Would you be willing to share details about your depth finder? I ran aground last year and ended up with a broken sternum. I think the depth finder would be a huge help in keeping my family safer. Thanks for any info you can share.

My best friend used to live in that house, I designed the boat house in the back, and watch them build it, endless summer days and nights on those lakes, from brick lake to the rest, beautiful to jet ski , wakeboard, many partys at that house and good times. my 1st date with my wife now was at that house. Wished I could go back to those times, but glad I still live in Florida.
