So, how was the third party filter? I have been debating on buying the 2 for the same price a 1 Levoit filter. I thinks its a bit ridiculous that they are charging that much for 1 filter when the third party look the same.

Still holding up. If you're on a budget, I would recommend buying the 3rd party ones to save some money. I compare it to buying batteries, why buy Duracell when you can buy Kirkland for a fraction of the cost. Hope that helps!

you have to use a vacuum cleaner to clean it, if the core 300 does not tell you to change it it's a waste of money

The core 300 only has a timer, So it counts 6 months of run time then turns on the replace filter light. it has no sensor. if you never clean the pre-filter than yea it will be dead way before that, but if you vacuum the pre-filter monthly it will easily last 6 months.

Really?.. That's it, No update comparison or anything?? It's been 6 months since you posted the video. Some of us Noobs are still trying to decide if it's actually worth it to go non OEM and which off brands are the best.

@@xBLACKxOPSxSECRETSx2 unfortunately not. Still no word. I think we're actually gonna go the opposite route n try their smoke filter that's 4 stage and has the replaceable pre screen. Still on my first filter with 20% left.

@@Es_keet_it__Litty I just got a shark hp202 off marketplace and I bought a "3rd party seller" filter on amazon for it cause the official ones cost 80 or 90 dollars. I also just got a pm2.5 sensor. I'm gonna compare my new real levoit filter to that and maybe to my corsi Rosenthal box I built out of Merv 11 filters.

I just watched a documentary on how manufacturers have made spares so difficult to find so we can buy only their stuff or send back to them for repair. What a shame. Buddy, I just washed mine, I let it dry outside and fixed it back. No one is going to teach me otherwise. Whatever is dirty can also be cleaned

Wondering if I could place a cut piece of pantyhose over the filter to act as an additional pre-filter to prolong the life of the filter. What do you think?

@@sophiacolemanhill1231 no. It’s not designed for that and panty hose won’t filter out any particles you are worried about anyway.
