Blizzard is a nerfing machine, they are just addicted to nerf everything that is barely fun, that's why probably in 1 year from now this game is going to be the most boring garbage to ever exist. Oh but barb its going to be way above everything else because the boss son love it.

Dude, they a buffing a lot of things. One build cannot be that much more powerful then the others. And this is not only for sorc, is for all of classes.
Does the Diablo 4 developers not learned anything yet? When they do extreme and excessive NERFs on many player's favorite build, it just makes the players frustrated, upset and disappointed. That was why so many players had left the game out of anger. I thought the developers were smarter than that but their actions shows otherwise. It would be good if they nerf the build in moderation without destroying it completely that way the player base will not lose many players instead continue to grow new players. Wake up Blizzard and take note of this fact.
The goal of the game is to make different builds players should learn to try different builds or come up with different builds. It would be stale if the same build stayed op all the time. Players don't quit because of builds being merged if they do then the problem is the players.

Forcing players to play other skills or characters is entirely unwise as in the end it's the player's choice. No one should be forced to do things they don't want to do.
I wanna see what sorc builds are gonna be variable for the expansion OTHER than FO and Firebolt. I wanna see how Hard the new raids are gonna be with 2 ppl compared to 4 ppl.
They just refuse to balance things, there is no middle ground with these people. It's either beyond broken OP or gutted and completely useless. Rip LS. The double LS cast temper is also changed
Completely agree. It's always the "Right Turn Only" mentality with the dev leads and I don't understand it. Instead of constantly worrying about people complaining how so and so class is so much stronger, why not just take time and balance the shit out of all the classes so they're on pretty equal playing field.
@@Shipdacheesethey changed Fractured Winterglass as well. Based on the patch notes, until we can actually test it, I'd say Lightning Spear is completely dead. With that said, Sorc still has several powerful builds, just not OP/broken like LS was. And I enjoyed playing the build, but it needed a nerf. I don't like that they completely gutted it and it's basically garbage now (on paper, so to speak), but I'm not at all surprised.
@@jedirayden i hope they've done some testing and see if it still works and not just input some numbers and get a result. At first glance though, it really should still be good. It was completely broken.
They always say things like they don't want to nerf and then that's exactly what they do. This was hands down the most fun build I ever played since the game came out and I played every season. Sad to see the build dead.

More like they want everyone to put their hands in their pockets and buy the expansion, people that don't do that will not have access to the new area and skill points, so in a way they are going to be weaker than dlc owners. I don't know why people don't see it but Blizzard will always be garbage, those suckers only think about money that's it.
Thanks for the info and explanation. It really looks like the Sorceress is gutted next season. This is expected though as the best seasonal builds ALWAYS get nerfed at the season end. This has been the case with D3 and D4. New builds will rock next season and we will just have to play them. It will be interesting to see builds that will be created with the SpiritBorn as I am thinking that will probably be king next season, but who knows what new builds get created with the other classes.
I don't think it was that fact that people didn't think it wasn't going to happen, but the lengths they went to completely RIP this build. But in typical Blizzard fashion, "It's a good build? It's really strong? Nerf hammer."

That’s what I’m hearing too. “Don’t play my game because you will not have fun even after grinding for good gear.” I thought the point was you were going to be strong after putting a perfect build together
As long as i can play chain lightning im fine ,its a more badass spec ;) And the nerf is like how my lightning spear spec works atm with much worse gear than you. I actually have to cast frozen orbs quiet abit. Its a shame but i do think the spec is to powerful atm.
Sometimes, I feel like Blizzard is doing everything they can to push players away from this game. Whenever they see smiles on our faces, the next move is often to nerf builds. They fix one issue only to create another. I don’t believe this is driven by money, but rather a lack of understanding. I genuinely hope Mecuna finds a way to overcome these challenges and enjoy playing Sorcerer again. Many of us, myself included, don’t have much free time; we use this game as a way to unwind and escape from our hectic workdays. I’m not here to be the best or compete with others; I just want to have fun.
So you will have fun with sorcerer just that build will not be so op. I don't get it it's nerfed not dead nor unplayable. It's still going to be strong.
It would be fun to have a tally of the total damage nerf in %. It feels like all small nerfs together the Sorc has been gutted into oblivion. I was so looking forward for S6 but now I'm pondering if i should return VoH. This is SHIT!
7:50 small correction, the damage loss is in fact going from 700% to 400%, but you also need to account for the reduced attacks per second, see below. I'm not even including the reduced number of hits, so less Lucky Hit procs too. 7:20 Conjuration Mastery capped at 30 conjurations is probably irrelevant, seeing how hard it is to get to 30. So, you get 12 LS, 3 Ice Blades, 2 Hydras, maybe you can double some of these with manual casting but still. For those doing the math about % multiplier loss, that's not even the issue. Bear in mind that with LS, you don't just get a bigger % multiplier via Conjuration Mastery, you also get additional attacks per spear which is essentially like it's own direct multiplier. To keep it simpler, let's say each LS only does 1 Attack per Second, so with 10 Conjuration Mastery, damage multiplier with 60 LS is A = (100%+10%*60) * 60 Whereas damage multiplier with 30 LS is B = (100%+10%*30) * 30 B/A is ~28%, which is a loss of 82% damage output. However, this might not be such a big nerf... because if you can't temper Conjurations CDR, then you'll temper Conjuration Mastery, so this will actually turn out as: C = (100%+13%*30)*30 And C/A is unfortunately still just 35% of previous damage. I'm guessing we'll be going for frozen orb+LS builds which can already reach 30, which might allow you to replace Aspect of Frozen Orbit for a damage multiplier maybe even Conceited, which would ramp up damage to 45% of what it was before. This does bring it in line with other Sorceror builds, and while surely it'll affect Pit pushing, chances are it'll be invisible to most people, and will still be a top build. Maybe that's not a bad thing, because frankly, LS being this powerful destroys all interest in any other sorc builds, because currenrly if you're not running LS, you're just choosing to nerf yourself. Bringing this in line with other builds will likely ultimately be good for sorceror. PS: LS is supposed to have a cooldown, and being able to just press it and cast non-stop is something we knew would be stopped, one way or another. We knew this was coming, much like what they did with Flame Shield from S4 to S5. ;)
@Mekuna7 oh, sorry, got carried away in there :) I'm sure you'll find a workaround and come up with a top Sorc build for S6 - you always do ;) PS: 1050% on Aspect of Elemental Constellation sounds like a typo, chances are it's 105% or 150%. ;)
I for one hate when builds like ball lightning in s2 and lighting spear now emerges. It’s just so op that you feel like a cripple when you play builds that aren’t the fotm. No build should one shot the hardest content in the game.
the hardest content in the game would be high tier pit 150 and above and we were no where close to being able to 1 shot those bosses on the live server
But LS Sorc didn't one-shot end game. Sorcs legit don't get much love at all so seeing that class strive was refreshing. I usually main Barb, but I loved Sorc before. And just food for thought, the Sorc build that ran the highest end game (pit) was actually a Firebolt Sorc but it was very specific with what boss it landed on.
All they had to do was cut the aspect on Winterglass by 50%. Build would have been more fair overall. The overscaling of damage is creating to large a gap for balancing and is setting a metric that all skills can not keep up with and is forcing endgame to only have one viable identity. This was a necessary change, but only if we get something in return.
I knew this was going to happen, they have done this since D3 and when barb got nerfed into oblivion I knew that sorc would get the same if a good build or if the class itself is strong.
I dont get why they need to nerf a build to the ground when they nerf. Just do small nerfs. They simply make a build unplayable and dead by doing this. I dont get it. They have killed barbs and necro before and now sorc once again. :/
Welp. Looks like im not buying VoH after all. D4 finally had a fun and strong build. Instead of buffing other classes and different styles of play they just gut them. 😴
They really want everyone to play new class with all the nerfs to all other classes. It sounded like during the camp chat that they said flamescar unique was going to make incenerate op with chance for double dmg on it.
To be honest, I have never reached to 60 conj ever in season 5. Now they dropped its count to 30, now limited 12 lightning spear.. I don't know what's happening but, for low level players like me, I think this is not nerf. Like, I wasn't able to even get 20 spears out 😁
The fact they would put SUBSTANTIAL nerfs out a few days before the release is awful marketing. Was going to buy it till now, considering that was the build I was going to work to.
How does the 'worst class in the game' have the most broken builds every season? Ball of light, perma flameshield and light spear. Unpopular opinion but I think light spear needed a nerf, nobody else was playing any other build on sorc. I thought fireball was great until i tried light spear...it was ridiculous!
Hi, Mekuna. I agree with the nerf, man. The entire server is a LS Sorc. Not even Barbs in S4 were so common: if you see 10 players - 8 are LS Sorc, 1 Andariel's Barrage and 1 Druid. To add to the problem, LS is not a build that obliterates single target: it hits the entire screen so if you are close to 1 or more you are not hitting or fighting anything because everything dies to their LS and frozen orbs. I think the fun should be allowed for everyone and LS is not a healthy build in the long run. 1 Season of it is enough.
They always do a bunch of nerfs after ptr with zero testing. Pike they nerfed barb and made I conpletely uncompetetitive with everybother class in pits. Now they nerfed every class kina with flyohs and main stat, increased mob difficulty and raised yhe tiers of the pit with no testing. There are some big damage changes that aspect got buffed by 1500%, i think yhey want you to stack up the lightning spear damage instead of just a bunc if kughtnin soears. Getting 600%x damage from a passive like conjuration mastery is ridiculous you have to admit nobody else can get those numbers thats better than every barb key passive and passive damage bonus, legendary paragon node, and glyph bonus conbined in the live game right now bro. I mean i get it, it was the most fun build but they donthis every season. At least they just neefed the build instead of nerfing the character specirically across the board, like they did barb to where thorns is unplayable and anything else but dust devils for that matter.
I wouldnt worry about it. Blizzard would never release anything that wasnt fully tested to perfection. Lol. Also, just like they said in the chat "they are just condensing they fun". Or otherwise condensing the damage. Haha
how they nerfed all the best build every season its riddiculous and its disrespectful for the players who bought their game.. they clearly know nothing about their own game..they are playing 'god' and the players are their slaves..

I got tired of lightning spear so I’m glad a new build can be focused on. It got so spammy that my hands hurted from constant spams of conjurations. Regardless, we really respect you Mekuna as a sorc player and look forward to your opinions on the new meta and best build for sorcs for season 6. Thank you 🙏

Barbs suffered this during s5 haha. Goal was accomplished... all have to play new expansion class cause everything looks like shit. Easy money maker... make everything garbage except the new pay to win class.

Maybe an A.I generated anime sorc? or SoS for Sorc Society (pretty cool eh?) S.O.S is really cool cuz you're "helping" the sorcs which has double meaning. Help my Sorc! Sos! Or MS (Mekuna Sorc). Something good and unique. The infinity sign is cheap and non memorable. Or ICE, FIRE, LIGHTING in THREE parts of the circle. Each represents the Sorcerer's element. U get the idea.

Blizzard if you read this, it means you guys suck at making games fun. Last season with a lot of afford I tried to get my friends back and play this game with OP build. Men we had fun until you started nerfing things, the first couple of patches we're ok but we knew what you guys are doing. We are not going to buy the dlc for it just to be nerfed again and seeing how blizzard tries to nerf everything. Lets just say we know now. Expect player to leave your shitty game. This is why people need to stop playing the PTR… it’s just gives them a chance to nerf pre season. FORCE them to nerf mid season! They won’t because they know people will quit. DOWN WITH PTR!
He might just have a point there. I mean honestly what last minute patches/changes did arrive for the "playerbase" to add to the fun at all by bringing out PTR 4 weeks pre release? If they would take it anywhere serious they would consider going into PTR 3 months pre release to really make CHANGES happen THE RIGHT way and not just screw everyone over BEHIND THE CURTAIN last minute before launch!
