I would like to find a light strip or rope light like this that could be used for a custom designed primary lighting source in every room, but these companies are making their products financially and logistically impractical for that purpose, and I believe it's intentional, akin to tech companies resisting right-to-repair efforts. There is no reason these strips or ropes couldn't be designed to be segmented, with the ability to reuse the other segments, by reconnecting them to the network with individual or multi-port connectors
If you're fine with soldering wires and led strips, you should look into WLED. With a power supply, a controller board, and an led strip (check compatibility) you basically have a highly customizable setup. Though I don't know about matching monitor colors like whats shown in the video.
@@JimmyEatsTheWorld Good to know. I wouldn't be using for traditional "accent" lighting though, but as a multi-strip network, to be the primary smart lighting for each room in the house. So retaining all smart features, app/sensor connectivity, etc. Unfortunately, I think these connectors would need to be addressed by the manufacturer, for seamless app integration and multi-strip/room functionality, before anybody could begin to design and MacGruber their own unique setups.
Damn this really has turned in to a sponsorship channel. I get you need money but I'm here for Android stuff. I don't want to see LED strips or robot vacuum cleaners.
