This experiment, we will make a simple electric DC motor and look at how it works. We will examine the science behind the current moving through magnetic field generating a force which spins the motor.

Hey I appreciate it! The process is really fun for me. Maybe someday the channel will expand a little, but I really enjoy just doing experiments then messing around with editing so it's all good. Let me know if you have any fun experiment ideas!

I did it with my little kiddos and they really dug it. (they are 6 and 4) The 4 year old mainly thought magnets were pretty much magic, but the 6 year old loved making it spin. The only little think to watch out for is the wire can heat up a bit!

The Enamal has to be on Half the wire so it will act like a switch turning the current on and off at the right time to keep it rotating

That's it! The little trick of putting sharpie on one side of the wire to make that happen is new to me this year. Have you ever made one?

I’m scared of playing with batteries like this bc they can heat things up really hot I’d be scared of starting a fire. I think this is what happens if you connect two 9v batteries together.

The wire can get pretty hot! I think it is worth playing with them though. I don't think you will get burned. Just use the AA and not the 9V ;)
