Question , on the driver side theres a module where youre supposed to route the secondary pipe by the crashbar , though it seems every video i see of these hks intakes the module isnt located there. I had to make a custom bracket to relocate that module (looks like an ecu) for this kit to work , wondered if its different by year i guess of q50 just seems odd every video i watch theres no computer in the way
I'm surprised you didn't need a tune after the install. Mine was idling weird, seemed to be running a bit lean but I had the car tuned afterwards so all was good. Love hearing it build up boost!
Yeah my idle is a little weird but it’s like barely. The rpm’s will go from like 900-950 but that’s it. I will be getting a tune in a few months. But for now it runs fine. I love hearing the boost build up as well
Cause I would have had to get a tune immediately after getting the intakes put on and based off dyno numbers there isnt a big power difference between the 2.5 and 3in long tube intakes. As for the exhaust, yeah it gets a bit raspy, i was considering doing either resonated lower downpipes or a resonated y pipe in the future before i get tuned.
@@SimplyElite im wondering if the AAM 2.5/3" intakes are a worthy choice compared to this setup. changing/cleaning the filters looks like a nightmare. i would imagine the power difference for the larger setup will be later down the road, maybe not so much near stock levels.
@@OxBlitzkriegxO Well when i say power difference i mean with a tune but the car does gain a bit of power from just the intakes because the turbos have so much more airflow. I personally think any of the intakes from Boosted 6 Auto are the best on the market. Their 3in shorties are also very popular intake choice, i might end up swapping to those in the future.
@@SimplyElite ok cool it’ll bolt back up or use different mount points ? Also I may do it how Bonnie Clyde did there’s because I have the z1 pump and it sits right where the passenger intake would sit in the front
