is it true, that these are random events, and you just have to go there and hope it coincides with a flight? i tried finding some schedule for these things and it said something to the effect of it being random/luck
I worked radio maintenance in the USAF back between July 1987-89 at Galena, AB, Alaska. The Cac that had the 2 F-15s we supported was right next to our shop. We were right next to the runway. We always had a great view watching them scramble. Love those beautiful birds!!!!
I work at YOW in Ontario, Canada and we had an A400 Atlas C-1 with the R.A.F come in; had a chance to photograph the plane and thank a random airmen for what he does and keeping us safe, also telling him he is a special breed of person, and that I envy him for that. My family being from Europe, I had to thank them naturally lol.
Such beautiful aircraft. The F-15 is such an iconic design, and from an outsiders perspective, you'd never know that these planes are pushing 50 years old. Russian Mig-29s are showing their age, and look about as old as they are, where as American and British fighters have always looked way ahead of their time.
Part of it might be just because they actually keep their aircraft clean. I'd also say that the Eagle's hard lines evoke a more modern design aesthetic than the Russian curves.
Agreed 100%! F-15 has always been my favourite aircraft ever made. Last of the fully ‘manual’ jets, before computers took over in the F-16 etc. Solid, reliable, dependable and just plane sexy in a retro solid engineered 80s Audi Quattro way. The new F-15X I think it is named will keep the bird flying for decades yet, whilst others come and go, like that still working Nokia candy bar phone in your top drawer. :)

I know planes/jets have been around for decades. but whenever I see one especially a fighter jet, I am completely paralyzed with emotion and just stare at them. I can't get enough of these videos. thank you for splurging on amazing cameras/lenses for our enjoyment. I hope to one day see this place in person
I liven on Lakenhieth AFB in the mid 80’s. It’s only about 4 hours from the base. I Hated it there as we had come from Kadena in Okinawa. My father passed a few years ago and every time I see an F-15 I think of him. Thanks for the memories!!❤️

we live in south cumbria and jets fly up over us to go into the Lake District and return later in the day.still blows my mind watching them.we hear dog fights overhead too some day

You're work is amazing...to have so much clarity on an object traveling at 500 knotts..., you could take pictures of a 2 year old that drunk 4 Red Bulls, 3 colors of cotton candy, and a sip of his mommy's espresso!!!
