Ole Miss fan here and my LSU Aunt went to be with the Lord a few hrs ago and so here I am watching the Golden Band from Tiger Land and crying my eyes out. Her son played in the band.. Nothing hits any cooler than the daaaa dant daaa da....
I'm all choked up. My husband and I worked for LSU's Middleton Library from September 1990 thru August 1994. That was the best job I ever had. LOVED Baton Rouge, loved south Louisiana people, history and culture, (and FOOD!) and loved my job at LSU. We only went to one football game - the 100th anniversary game against Tulane - and I had a great time. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, but when it comes to college football, I am an LSU fan all the way!
I Love this. It doesn't hurt for the band members to be athletes too because it takes a lot of air to blow those horns while trotting. Damn, those tubas were blasting like a herd of bull elephants. Btw, I mean that in a good way, I was a tuba player back in high school.
LSU football is amazing. But the Band makes it the best. The players know that. I love it and it would not be LSU “Football” without the band. On the march and in the stadium. I love that ALL people make our college football great.
oh cool...reminds me of a highschool band march-in... lmao #fightintexasaggieband Just givin y'all shit. LSU has a great program/fans (been to the Rouge myself). Gig Em :P
This kid in my band class had the audacity to insult our band saying it sucks then go on to brag about the Texas A&M band and this was so angering I wanted to say well at least our band has personality and doesn't do the same thing over again and what makes you think you are so good sure you are a decent band but you certainly aren't the best
How fitting for the tiger to be dressed as an evil Sith Lord, which makes LSU a school of clones and means everything they stand for is evil as well, nice move
Please do not denigrate a tradition that has existed for most of my lifetime and which brings out emotions from Tiger fans everywhere. I am sure you went to a school that has traditions that are as revered as those at LSU. If you do not then I can understand your ignorance of not appreciate it.
