Obviously, when he dropped the head, that was done on purpose to divert the audiences' attention from the box while the real guy switched places with the dummy.
the real guy would be in the back of the box behind a secret panel, the box is deep enough... during the change from fake guy to real guy the magician completely blocks our view of the box with the fabric and his body, giving plenty of opportunity to move a panel and reveal the real midget

The trick is simple, the little man changed place with the dummy, when the magician was puting the head back on. Becasue of his size, he covered the whole box.
Normally dropping a prop would get a buzzer but since the judges knew in advance this was one of the professionals paid to be a contestant they were just sitting there acting as if this was all new to them.
Yeah, he fooled everyone thinking it was a mistake but it was all part of the act. In show business, there's a lot to be said for the element of surprise!
Same sign, opposite side is just different for comedic purposes. There is a secret door that isn't visible, every time he approaches the box, he is signaling the man inside to do a certain step towards fulfilling the illusion since the man can not see nor receive verbal signal from the magician. It's a very easy trick but the showmanship is where the magic lies.
I agree with you,but I have to give credit to that magician,because all the distractions became obvious until the little man started to walk,so nobody was expecting that,that's why I liked the trick a lot
Revelation: This little man was hidden in a secret place inside that magician box. Notice when the magician didn't follow the head in order to cover up the swap between the custom and the little man at 1:22. With the great misdirection by the head falling off, The swap had already taken place at 1:30. However, From that point and on, he used his poster to cover up the head region of the little man. Last step, he put the head in a secret place in the box hiding that up with his body. Then, BANG.
The Small Human Chaplin is inside behind a black curtain. The Small Human Chaplin is wearing a thin shirt. The magician places the pants and suit inside which is on a plastic shell with an opening in the back. The dropped head allows small human chaplin to enter the plastic shell, head still behind curtain. He replaces dropped head on body. Gets in front of box. Small Guy replaces mannequin head behind curtain. His head appears. Ta-Da. Magic. TL:DR- Midget is always inside. Gets in shell.
Look in the split second between 1:28 and 1:29 when he puts the poster on top of the box, there's no head there. Either they have a really custom cut curtain or that wasn't what happened during the cover-up of the box. It's much more likely the switch happened when he carelessly toss the head up in the air, because he both cover the entire box for a time, it distracts the audience and we never see the doll without a head afterwards.
the head falling wasn't an accident. what he did was he distracted the audience with it while the midget in the box (the real one) found a way to switch places with the fake one (this is happening in about 1:25, when he covers the entire body). after that, he covers just the head so it seems theres no head in there, but there actually is, and its a real one. so he just acts like he puts the head on the doll when actually leaves it in an unseeable corner inside the box.
the dummy and the real guy switched while we focused on the rolling head. Then he sticks the dummy head in the back behind the real guy. Easy as you like. It's all about keeping us thinking about other things and this guys a natural at it
When he walked out... we all saw that coming, really, didn't we? Look how deep that box is from front to back. The magician spent a REALLY long time covering the box opening with his body and that flag thing. Plenty of time for the shorter man to switch himself with the dummy body. Still, some fun good old-fashioned magic.
Yep, just like how he does the coin trick in the beginning (You see it between his thumb and finger on his left hand, then throws in up in the air and catches it)
the chaplen man was in the box already and if all of u see the sheet which he put in the top of that box just to hide the part of the fake head which throwen in front of the stage ... and when he got the fake head and went to the box he used his big body to hide the box and put it in some where inside the box and the small man began to appear to people there ... nice trick and also he is so clever but it's easy to be discovered thanks by the way :)
What I think happened is that the man was already in the box wearing a full black suit that cosplayers use to look like slender-man and all the pieces were like a mask, and to make the head seem real the back of the head was collapsible or it slipped on over onto his head.
That's pretty easy to figure out, if you don't want to know do not read on. While the head rolled off and everyone was distracted the fake was switched and the man hid his head under his shirt when the magician put his hand over the head they removed and the man's head went back up. Yes, ta da indeed very well performed!
all he did was distract the judges by dropping the head then putting the poster over the box so that the cant see the little person then he got in font of the box so that the little person can switch the head into a secret compartment
The little guy was hiding inside the door of the box, the poster provided cover from the guy to open the secret compartment and switch places OR the inside of the box had a false back.
Here's my guess. Theres an opening on the back of the clothings. He made the head roll on purpose so the guy could get into position. Once he gets infront of him, he handles him the head, the midget hides the head in the hidden compartiment and gets inside the clothes.
it was so badly done actually, the way he dropped the head and distracted the audience so that the real dwarf would position himself, and then he put that paper map over his head to cover it.
Although "magic" is the art of trickery and illusion, the true magic, in my opinion, is the ability of how the magician thought up of such a idea. Thus, everyone should truly respect that magicians can put up a great show. :) But, you're brother....should really control himself as a magician, because many magicians get the same crap from people everyday. And it's their job to deal with it.
Thats what she said? The box is bigger than what it appears. Theres more than enough room for that person to store himself behind a black cloth and make the switch unnoticed when the view is blocked.
Guys, you do really her just used the trick of miss direction, right? When he purposely knocked the plastic head off and place the banner where the head once was, it was the perfect cover for the guy standing behind the door of the box, to put on the little tux. It's just a sense of no exact whereabouts.
"I KEPT SAYIN' 'I BETCHA I BETCHA HE COMES OUT ALIVE AND THEN WATCH THE HEAD AND GO 'OH POOR GUY' AND THE HEAD AND I GOT SUCKED RIGHT IN AND WHILE I WAS DOIN' THAT YOU DID THAT! THAT'S PRETTY COOL" I have no idea why David Hasselhoff's drinking led to him getting kicked off the show.
