Thanks for the video and in depth review! I will be getting the new ESR. I have their old model which I’ve used for over 1 year and I have no complaints about. I’ve tried several brands and ESR is the one I liked the most.
It’s the pop wallet plus hands down. I’m a year in with it holding 7 cards. Great magnets always aligned and stays on. Did I mention it’s holding 7 CARDS. Yeah the rest of these are jokes compared.
I have had the Peak Design for the last few months but am frustrated with poor magnet strength….have heard not nearly as strong as the pop-wallet. The ability to hold 3+ cards and a bill or two is critical…my barber only takes cash!!! Also sometimes the peak design’s flap magnet sometimes magnetizes behind and under the pocket but you learn to prevent it…if PD only made the magnet stronger it would be almost perfect. In my jeans pockets the MagSafe wallet is almost never attached to the back of my phone. In fact, sometimes I just give up and put it in a separate pocket so I only attach it to the phone here and there.
3:07 does it really connect using maggots? Now THAT'S an engineering breakthrough to be sure! Really liked the video for real but that made me chuckle lol.
I'm waiting for a MagSafe commuter wallet, meaning a wallet with which you can put in your Transit card in order for you to get on public transit if it uses a card. My city does as well as other cities in Transit Systems in my province in Canada.
Sorry, I don't use transit here other than when in New York. What does it need to do? Why can't you put your transit card in the back of any of these wallets? None block signals so you could put a card and still use a contactless system to tap the phone (with the wallet attached) to use the card.
@@AppleInsider Well, I had the iPhone 8 and I had a commuter case, which had allowed me to put my transit card in a slot in the back of it. What it allowed me to do was put my phone against a card reader on a bus, subway or streetcar and it would beep. That obviously means that you have payed for your ride. So, if there was a similar MagSafe wallet which was designed for commuters, they could put their iPhone 12, 13 or 14 against a reader on a transit vehicle and they have payed for their ride. I had tried that with the Apple MagSafe wallet and it didn't work with my card, when I tried the same trick when entering a subway station. So, I had to take my card out of the wallet and put it against the reader... manually. Sorry for the long explanation, but you did ask. Keep up the great work with the channel.
@@BlindGordie Ok, so I understood correctly then. They are NFC-enabled cards like contactless payments. The Peak Design would 100% work as it is super thin fabric on the outside. Some of the others may have metal or other material that slightly blocks the signal but I'd guess the Peak Design would be fine.
OK I'm putting this out there how many people put down their phones and forget them. Well you just forgot all your credit cards and ID. That product is a hard pass for me I'm one of the ones that put down my phone and forgets it.
Hey Marie! I love this question. I've heard it before and here are my thoughts. First, if the argument is "well if I forget my phone, I just forgot all my cards too," then what about your wallet or phone by themselves? If you are likely to set your phone down and leave it, aren't you just as likely to set your wallet or purse and forget that? If you have two things to watch that is twice the number of things to keep track of. Putting your phone and wallet together means you have one less item to keep track of. Second, two of those wallets have support for Find My. If you ever did leave the wallet, you'd get alerted and have its location on the map. Can't do that with a plain wallet or purse (unless you add an extra Bluetooth tracker). Leaving your phone is *arguably* worse than leaving your wallet. You aren't responsible for any errant charges on a stolen credit card and if you use Apple Card you can immediately pause the card and get a replacement while you still use it digitally. Your phone you are immediately out almost a thousand dollars to replace, let alone if you had a current backup. If someone got your passcode, they could also get access to banking info, photos, apps, payments, and much more. A lot more damage that can be done than if you lose a single credit card that is easily replaced.
I haven't. With MagSafe, I dont see as much use for them as I did in the past. There are some nice folio ones i wouldnd mind rounding up though if you think that woud be good?
Um…Apples MagSafe Wallet holds 3 cards soo guess what it’s just what you need. Mine easily holds a titanium Apple Card, a stainless steel American Express card and my ID. Sure it was a tight fit at first but just like any tight hole it stretched out nicely and now they all slide in and out with ease. Also maybe check Apples product description of a product before you go misinforming people. 🙄
