Agree on the boxing and some basic grappling as the headlock is the most common move in a street fight. Judo is a completely different thing with clothes on. You get some decent shoes and if you have 6 months of judo you can throw almost everyone out there on their head straight into the pavement without needing the stength to slam them and you don't have to go down to the ground with them. I had a friend about 5'10 and maybe 150 and I saw him toss a few guys right into the pavement on their face, all of them much larger than him.
Let’s say you don’t know you are having a street fight before the guy already gets close or he grabs you, it’s very useful to have wrestling knowledge here and to know what part of the body is vulnerable, also if you throw somebody on the floor, why the heck are you coming down with him? You CAN run away and it’s the safest option.
Watched loads of Twitter fights and getting slammed by wrestlers is devastating. Even if they go down with the person, the person is normally landing on their head or neck and are knocked out or completely shellshocked.
One problem with boxing is the techniques are all centered around boxing rules. For example neither Mike Tyson’s peek a boo or Floyd’s shoulder roll would work if people could grab them or hit them in the back of the head. There’s also a good chance you break your own hands punching without gloves. I’ve thought about it a lot and I think the best real world self defense martial art is Judo. Most people don’t know how to control their center of mass and are 100% unprepared to be flipped 🤸♂️. Even more so considering the fact that most assault is done by drunk people. Lastly a 1 punch knockout is rare so boxing mainly creates space thru pain compliance. But if someone is so angry, or drugged up, or has a strong chin it could get messy. Judo physically removes them from your path regardless of how durable they are.
Yeah, like Judo isn’t literally built around being able to shoot without the fear of rabbit punches, spine punches, knees to shooting opponents, etc. Good luck getting cripples, I’ll take throwing a few quick jabs and then running
@@prediletodelas.1351 I promise you fighters like khazmat and khabib would be more than willing to take Tyson down if they had to. They are wrestling and jiu jitsu wizards. Nobody said you have to grab your opponent standing up. A proper shoot for a takedown is something Tyson isn’t prepared for
What about " wing Chung ? Sifu Hawkings Chung would say " Wingchung is a street fight martial art .He would say " go thru your opponent with a KILLING attitude.
That's his opinion. There's a lot martial art's that can win street fights. Jkd, Kali, mma, pentjak silat, and savate too name a few is good for street fighting.
If you have to choose one, Judo is the best. You have amazing take down skills and decent submission. Boxers do really badly in MMA. That has been proven hundreds of times. Muay Thai does better vs. grapplers because they can use knees and elbows duting the clinch. Boxing has no defense in the clinch, so every time they try MMA, they end up on their back within seconds. I'm talking about pure boxers, not MMA fighters, with great boxing skills. Those are lethal.
I mean I think it depends on what your more suited for how do you naturally fight Muay Thai, boxing, mma and kickboxing can all be useful in a fight since a fight always starts standing up so wrestling and bjj aren’t the best especially if your near rocks, or water or whatnot so anything with decent strikings a good bet
I agree, but u must know how to def takedown cuz if it's 1v1 and u dont know how to def it or move on the ground. you could die if it's that real and u get taken down.
Thing is bjj can prepare you for the worse case scenario aswell. If you get tripped or anything and you have no bjj or wrestling experience chances are your staying down there whereas doing bjj will help you in that situation
As someone who has a black belt in bjj, amateur boxing level experience, some years in muay thai and mma. And being someone who is a bit stronger than your average guy. (260kg bench) The best defense is situation awareness. The second is my conceal carry i have with me at all times. 😂 F rolling with someone on the concrete floor. Easier to just let them know im strapped.
Thats actually the best comment. "situation awareness" is maybe the most important think because if somrone punch you first not many thinks can help you
Flashing a gun at an unarmed attacker will land you in jail very quickly. I'll roll on the concrete a bit to avoid a stay in jail with even more violent people who may attack me.
In a street situation i won't use elbow i will use my hands because I wanna fight distance because the street can have friends so if try to use elbow they can grab me
I think he’s just a boxer trying to Represent 😂 cuz I know some guys that can take a guy down & he’s gonna have to get wheelchaired out 😂 Legs Gone. wrestling & BJJ is definitely top tier in a street figh
Definitely not in a street fight if they grab you and all bets are off bjj and wrestling are useless when people can rip your nuts off gouge your eyes outta your face and bite chunks out of you definitely stick to boxing safest on your feet anyone who says otherwise hasn’t seen a real street fight
The best thing for a street fight is to run or carry a weapon cuz I guarantee these mfs ain’t finna fight fair, but if running ain’t a option either boxing(hit them with a jab and run) or Muay Thai or kickboxing.
Boxing only works until someone takes you to the ground. Knowing BJJ or wrestling and taking someone to the ground is the entire point of it. Idk what this dude was talking about.
agree with you, and most of the real fights end up in the ground so ur striking is useless if you cant get away from it. Also if u use ur "Boxing" in streets to assault someone im pretty sure its not "self defense" when you can get away
This guy has no idea what he's talking about. Just wow. It's not about throwing them down. It's about not letting them hurt YOU. He obviously hasn't been in many street fights, if any at all.
