@@gimblegrok Yes it is. Do you think his kicks are immoral or wrong? They are legal. Do you think he should be using only textbook kicks? I don't think this is an integrity question. I think this is a general backlash of old school sparring vs new school sparring with electronic system. The kicks Milad used probably wouldn't count under subjective judge scoring. I personally prefer old school, but this is the game now, and those kicks are fair game, unless they change the rules. Unless you think that the rule changes are breaking with integrity..

@@mokwondo2488 You are correct of course. The kicks are just point-scoring techniques in a "game" played by "players". That modern vernacular is just another symptom of the downwards slide. Heaven forbid anyone should consider a match to be fighting! Milad is doing what he has to to win. As invested as he is in his chosen sport that is understandable. I still commend the fighters like Aaron that retain some old school realism in their skillset. Integrity has definitely been compromised somewhere but maybe not by the modern players such as Milad. I think the blame lies higher up the TKD food chain.

@@gimblegrok I think that the move to electronic scoring has been tough in the short run for TKD community. I certainly remember days of selling my points and certain points not being scored when they should have. Now we see any contact to the head, including the behind the head tap scoring. Full point penalties for falling. Penalties for pumping the cut kick. The rules are constantly changing and my theory is this is to make Tae Kwon Do exciting. It has been rough as a player and coach to adapt, but now that the subjective nature of the game (besides the punches) are now concrete, measurable - it can be viewed as more creative and fun. The whole cut kick meta-game, and finally coming up with methods to win as a shorter fighter has been both challenging and rewarding. I hear you mentioning downward slide, I felt like initially I was worried TKD was only going to become fencing.. yet I think there's actually more diversity and creativity now. @@mokwondo2488 Well, in my opinion, as a somewhat average (standing at 178 cm right now) taekwondoin, I personally think the new rules favor the taller fighter, though again, this is mostly a matter of adapting, just like you said. Though I have to say, the old way is much more interesting considering that high and spinning kicks are really hard to execute, more so to actually score some points, I think it is fair to say that it was better back then. But again, it's only a matter of adaptation. I personally don't commend the new "fencing, front leg" style of nowadays taekwondo, but I digress. Even I learned to adapt the moves bit by bit. So, thanks for the fresh take on this fight.

@@douglascalcaneo4191 It's the rule that gives the taekwondoin points just by matching the sensors to the receivers, and also that hard kicks don't always register points. I'm kinda sad really, but luckily in my country (Indonesia), we mostly get by with the old system
