Best Mayor in Illinois!!! Vandalia 

I got tipped about the county almost two years ago, but never got the chance to stop by on the last couple trips in the area.

I so wished this video were more popular. We really do need more mayors like him. The Fayette County Courthouse is only a few blocks away. This mayor could show them how to get their stuff in order for free!

I know it won't get many views but I still like to put good videos up every now and again. The majority of my audits are very similar to this. I try hard to be polite and informative.

Having travelled several states over a period of three years looking for bad government, I know full well when I find a good one. The title of the video is truly how I feel. I enjoyed the friendly visit and could have probably stayed for another hour just chatting with him. I wished he was my mayor. If you want to see the polar opposite of good government it's right down the street at the Fayette County Courthouse. Title of the video is, "Corrupt Government Caught Red Handed". Thanks for watching and putting in your two cents. I love reading comments like this, it means there's hope.

Thanks man! It took some courage to start this endeavor. Walking into the lion's den alone is dangerous. I love meeting the good politicians, because it shows the contrast and reinvigorates me when they know the same things I do. I'm sure I've earned some subscribers that don't fit the "norm" of audit viewers. For instance, roughly 100 of my subscribers are actually cops. They support what I do!!! They understand the function that these videos serve.

Nick thank you for telling the auditor how you feel. It takes a lot of courage to fight back. I recently lost every possession that I had due to a court created "mistake" And I have yet to find one attorney who will fight to remedy the situation. Even though I have 100% proof positive as to what the court did. I have called well over 100 attorneys. They are afraid to go against that particular corrupt court. I am not looking for a free attorney either. I lost a vast amount in the way of dollar value. I will never be able to earn back what was STOLEN from me by the court using it's (created) "mistake." Now, let one of these shit talking miscreants jump on here and run their idiotic mouth. Badge or no badge, I would meet them one on one anytime and anywhere, off duty, and let them attempt to "educate" me. I have had it with the idiocy.

I wished the positive videos got as much attention. This really is the best public official I've met in the state so far. I could have done a better job on the camera work.

This city was especially good, but most of my audits are fast, friendly, and informative. I'm sure the trolls will still say I'm stirring up trouble, regardless.

I plan on going eventually. It's on the bucket list for sure. Several other viewers have told me about it.

@@CitizenStandpointNews I know it's the Dali museum but I was floored at how much of his artwork they had. Plus, the amount of his artwork I had never seen. Towards the end of the tour they have local artwork as well and that was impressive to say the least. Hope you make it one day.

I would enjoy checking out the "unseen" stuff because I own most of the pieces I like. I have more than what's on that specific wall.

@@CitizenStandpointNews I have been to Figueres many times and visited the museum there only once, in it's early times. The collection wasn't as big as it is now. But the town really embraced the artist and a lot can be found, books reproductions sites etc. The 'away from the coast' Catalunya is a really magnificent area! Worth a visit!

He's been the mayor for 20 years. I feel bad for whomever has to try and fill his shoes when he finally retires. The courthouse that miserably failed is only a few hundred yards away.

Those large (empty looking) plush buildings usually house rather small, but fancy looking plaques. And on those plaques you will usually find the name of a politician - official, who the overly - built, plush building is dedicated to. Does that answer your question ?

I haven't returned to it yet. No guarantees if it's going to happen. It depends on several variables that I have zero control over. The shop is only open on Friday and Saturdays which are days I don't audit on, so I will have to make a special 3 hour trip there. I really do want to go back. The employees were super excited to be on camera.

@@CitizenStandpointNews I’m not from Vandalia but I did live and work there in the past. Vandalia was sorta going down hill until Mayor Gottman was elected.

It's night and day difference between the county and city.

@@CitizenStandpointNews yes it it. It’s like a day and night difference from the early 90’s to the present. People are taking pride of their yards, flowers, homes, etc and it looks so much better than it did in recent years. Overall, this town has made a lot of progress.

That's good to hear. Hopefully, they can keep it going. This entire state is hurting. We are one of the few places on the planet that actually have a shrinking population.

I would publish all the passes if it wouldn't take so long to upload and I would still need to edit. It's just not worth my time to publish them. I visit on average at least ten locations when I go out in a single day.

Love those types of places! Wait and see, no guarantees. It depends on weather, time, money, etc.

Yea, lol. Maybe someday he will figure it out when he's watching TV that NONE of the networks share their profits with all the people in the stands at sports games, the politicians, criminals, victims etc. Cracks me up that people are that confident with themselves with zero facts to back it up. I just saw a picture of an entire classroom of kids at local school. Do you think the journalist got releases signed by all the parents of those children? People love to believe their own bullshit. Oh yea, I promise the local journalist didn't share his wages and the local tv station didn't send those kids a check. In the past couple days I've read some of the most asinine statements. There's no end to their ignorance. Sorry for the rant.

It's amazing how ignorant they are. The only thing I can hope for is that when they called the courthouse that they get somebody to believe they're stupid bullshit and try something so I can get them in a court of law. We'll see how knowledgeable they are.

Nope. You have to find them on your own and it's not me being rude. I suggest you go the BAR website for your state and look up the directory. You can shorten it by practice area, but that may limit your options even more. Another method is to track down the attorney from a recent case you noticed in the news that involves first amendment activities. Research the laws yourself before contacting the attorney. You don't want to be a problem client that they have to explain everything to all the time. Especially, if you are going to be an auditor. Also, most attorneys won't even waste their time with you unless you have an active case. Be prepared to spend some money.

Attorneys don't like giving advice for free...

85-90 percent of the audits I perform are fast, friendly, and informative. Watch the video from Fayette County for the polar opposite. It's not about money for me. I ran in the red the first two years!!! This is my passion. If I can walk in with a camera and in under 5 minutes expose multiple laws broken, then it's a job well done in my opinion. Best of luck on ending corruption by sticking your head in the sand.
