Hey Claudio, I had the info about the SL2 in the video at 2:02 and a link in the description, but in case you missed it, I'd recommend a 64GB card ( amzn.to/2CxYZsH ) for the SL2. 👍🏼
I have canon sl2 shooting video ,using sandisk extreme pro 64 gb 95m/s , sometime it show me card writing speed too slow and it never save the file I have recording...is my camera having problem or the card ?
The amount of research you probably had to do for this video is incredible and incredibly appreciated. Great work sir. Subscribed! (Canon 70D by the way, 91mb/s... going to buy the 128g. Thanks!)
I just got my first camera that isn’t a iPhone camera today which is the T7i and I can’t wait I have to go buy a memory card now,Thank you definitely subbing 👌🏽
This man is THE TRUTH. Shows the Canon DSLR line up and then has the nerve to set up timestamps in the description... I'm fuqing subscribing. Well done, sir
Super helpful video thank you! The newer cameras may be all the hype nowadays but it’s always great to see helpful modern videos for older cameras like my 7Dmkii
hello!! Im new to your channel and thank goodness to your helpful videos - Im using eos 600d to shoot youtube videos - what sd would u recommend? Also, if u can add links for mic and tripod that would be awesome -thanks a million
This 64GB SD card (amzn.to/2CxYZsH) should work well for you. Here is the Rode VideoMic Pro+ (amzn.to/2KRi6jz) that I use as well as the Manfrotto Tripod (amzn.to/2GJK1zm) I use. I also have a video on tripods that you can check out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l4VPVkQnEIY.html
great video 10/10 you go staright to the point:) about the sl3 if i dont use it for the 4k(only 1080) should i still but it? and how much time will it give me?:)
I don’t know what the video bitrate is the 1080p because I only looked up the highest rate for each camera. My guess is that it would be half the file size giving you double the time.
@@CamberFilmSchool OH NO!! I bought the Lexar Professional Compact Flash UDMA 7 256gb and it doesn't work on my Canon 5D Mark iv. I tried formatting it in the camera but after a few seconds it always shows "Movie recording has been stopped automatically" Can you please help me? It was super expensive :S
William Kirwin, that’s not good! When you say you tried formatting, did the formatting of the card work? What resolution and frame rate are you shooting in?
Hey man, great video. I’ve got a canon 600d, I need it for photoshoots, filming myself in the studio, and making music videos. What is the best SD card for me? Thanks for your time
Hi i just bought Canon 90d .. what is video size in 4k for this Camera?... I dont know should i buy 256gb or 128gb? What is the size of 10 minutes video in canon 90d?
Well, if you watch at 2:43 you'll see my recommendation for the 90D. I give the recording time @ 4K so you'll just have to divide by however many minutes you want to find out what size of 10 minutes video is.
Really well explained video, you clarify all my doubts about memory cards :) Now I just need to buy the correct memory card and keep on working on my youtube channel. Thanks!
Hi! Do you mind sharing what's the best SD card for the Canon g7x mark ii? Been having some trouble finding which one is best. Just interested in good photography quality and maybe a few videos.
I'd get a 128GB card, but you need to be aware that you won't be able to hit record and leave it running. The camera will automatically stop after 30 minutes so you'll want to set a timer to remind yourself to restart the recording.
I’ve got the canon t7 I see you recommend the extreme pro 64gb card, what about the mb/s? Does that also need to be a certain number? Sorry, I’m new to all of this and have zero knowledge lol Thanks in advance
Thank you so much for your videos! They are very helpful! I have a Canon EOS 2000D and I was wondering what SD card I should buy. Would it be a problem if I bought a 95 MB/s 32GB instead of a 170 MB/s 64GB? Thanks for your help!
My camera is Canon EOS Rebel T3i. What SD card should I use for recording video? Also, can I use only one SD card for both pictures and videos? Thanks in advance.
Hi I am a beginner and bought a used Canon 70D for makeup tutorials (I am a 40yr old makeup artist and I am not computer savvy at all) could you please tell me what you would suggest? I bought a 128gb card and I am getting a error message saying Card cannot be accessed reinsert/change the card or format card with camera? I am so confused 🤷🏻♀️ PLEASE HELP ME 🙏
Sounds like you just need to format the card, Danielle. Go into your camera settings and scroll through until you see a "format" option. Different cameras write in different formats to memory cards and new memory cards are delivered in a generic format. You have to "format" it to your camera so that it's set up to record the way your camera is designed to record.
Great Video, I just got a Canon EOS Rebel T7, but not very sure about the SD that I need to buy, I'm looking for the one that can give me best performance. While reading the manual found: - SD, SDHC and SDXC Memor Cards - Compatible with SD Speed Class - Not compatible with UHS spped class cards The one that you suggest us is fully compatible? (San Disk Extreme Pro 64 GB 95/s) Thanks in advances
If you look at the card I suggested, it has a 10 with a C around it which stands for Class 10 meaning that it can write up to 10MB/s sustained, which is the same as U1. So the card will still work fine for that. If you want to understand more about what the different numbers mean, check out this video I made explaining what all the numbers and symbols on SD cards mean 👉🏼 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZmVir_BbITA.html
Planning to buy a canon t8i if it ever gets released! Brand new (like, this will literally be my first camera that isn't an iphone) to photography and mostly looking to up my social media game and take videos. What card should I get?
I have a Canon EOS Rebel T6 and I would like to know what the 1 and the 10 under the SD XC I mean? I can only find the ones that have a 3 and a 10. I'm trying to record 2 hrs worth of HD/4K quality video of my youth football games. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.
No problem! Has that thing finally been released? Looking at the specs it looks like it shoots 120 Mb/s so I'd get this same 128GB card ( amzn.to/2MXBOiO ) that's listed for the SL3.
I don't think the memory card will make a difference for wireless wifi. The speed of transferring files through wifi will depend on how good of a wifi signal and connection you have.
Hi i just got my T5i dslr camera what memory would you suggest for this it was not mention in your video maybe because it’s lower end camera what memory card should it be right
What about faster than 95mb/sec. I found that those cycle quicker in photo mode on 2000D (T7). They are hard to find and cost a lot more, but less waiting between shots.
This video is about choosing a memory card based on shooting videos on your camera. Yes, if you are taking photos then getting a card with a faster maximum burst speed will give you less buffering between photos when taking them quickly.
@@CamberFilmSchool I have a question, I have a Canon T7i is it OK to use a 170MB/s instead of 95MB/s? What happens when the reading speed of the card is higher?
If you plan on doing any video, I would still use the same card that I suggested in the video. However, you can always get the next size lower if you won't need as much space.
n0g4rdd3r, because you don’t need a UHS-II card for a camera that only shoots 120Mb/s. That equates to 15MB/s, and a simple UHS-I can with a U3 rating covers you up to a 30MB/s recording speed. No reason to spend the extra 💵
I have a Canon Rebel T1i I BOUGHT SOME SAN DISK ULTRA 64GB SD XC I It won't format can you tell me what cards to buy for this older camera? Thanks Glen
sup broo thanks for the infoo appreciate it!! i got the r6 mark ii im loving it! but everytime i record at 4k, i can probs get a min of footage then it stops. ill switch the resolution too 1080 then its good. And i only have one 16 gb sd💀 id say i record more, but still take a decent amount of pics. And i was wondering an good sd for 4k 60? thanks again!
Hi Camber! I hope you can help me. I have a Cannon Rebel T6 EOS 1300D camera. I just started shooting videos for RU-vid, which I would like to be at least 30 minutes sometimes, but it stops around the 12 minute mark automatically - nothing pops up either, it just stops. The disc I have in it is a "SanDisk Ultra Plus 128 GB (130 MB/s and says V10 and an "I' underneath that, and a "10" in a circle." Do you think this is the problem? I assumed 128 GB was more than the 64 GB you recommended, but then again, I don't know very much about camera's etc. I appreciate any help you can give. :)
hello! the disc you rec for the 550/t2i, as the same for t6, I notice has a U of 1, instead of 3.. is there much of a difference as the 1 is harder to find now and more expensive than the 3. please can you elaborate on the diff between extreme pro U1 or U3 at the 64 gb card? thankS
I have a Rebel T5 and planning to buy I know you didn't mention that camera, but should I use 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB I would love to hear your thoughts on what's best.
There are some differences if you plan on doing alot or burst photos, but aside from that, any card I mentioned for the specific cameras should be good for general photos.
Sorry I know this isn’t video related but I’m having a hard time deciding. Google tells me different things. Never had a camera before. I just bought a Canon SX530, just going to use for photos. Should I go with 32g or 64g? How many pics would I be able to store? Does size effect quality on photos?
Islamic Studio, none of the cameras listed shoot RAW video. All the card suggestions are based on the highest recording bitrate of each camera (highest resolution and frame rate combo).
This ( amzn.to/3Z0L7PZ ) should work fine for you, but be aware that the 7D can only record for 12 minutes at a time in FHD. It’ll automatically stop recording and you’ll have to restart a new video clip each time it hits 12 minutes.
I'd recommend the same card that I said in the video. Should give you close to 3 hours. Just be aware that you'll have to restart your recording during the wedding every 30 minutes because of the DSLR video recording limit.
Good morning, i know you said that the T7 shoots a maximum of 46 MB/s and you mentioned getting a 64 GB SD Card. I wanted To get one with slightly more memory. Either 128 GB or 256 GB. Do you think it will still be compatible? Also, do SD cards with a MB/s of 150 or 170 still compatible?
@@CamberFilmSchool wow thx for quick reply! I like photography but am anameteur, nebver had an slr. Should I get the 200 or a more recent one? I read little difference between 18 and 24 MP
Hi. I just bought a Canon Eos 1500d and I think I bought the wrong SD card. I bought a 128GB go micro sdxc. The camera does not like this at all. Which one should I buy?
I have a 60d and was having trouble shooting with Lexar Professional 663x 64gb UHS-I/U-I, was getting lots of "automatically ending video" messages, so I figured maybe I'd upgrade and went ordered Lexar Professional 1667x 128gb UHS-II. But after ordering I'm now worried it might not be compatible? The camera was also getting warm when it quit, but I assumed that was the camera trying to cram too much into the card. I haven't tried it shooting with the new card yet, did I overshoot with the upgrade? Will the card be compatible? Should I just keep the card and upgrade to the 90d lol?
That's an older camera so I'm not sure about compatibility. Have you tried looking in the manual to see what the recommended max card size is? As far as the heating up, depends on your video settings. Are you shooting outside in the heat? Ambient temperature makes a big difference too. And how long are you recording when this happens?
