I bought the Stuart and Lau complete black version of this bag. The company overnight it and it's sleek without showing off too much. It keeps shape and I like the materials. I had a filson duffle (small) but I was trying to look for a less rugged bag (aesthetically) to carry with me to work. The leather straps are comfortable without weighing you down which is important. However, opening it up you have to put on the handles in which I wasn't fond of that and I have this weird quirk that I don't like the handles to be standing up straight--but that's just me. Banged it around so far in Singapore, London, Toronto and Vancouver. It still looks just as new. I had my doubts because I felt this bag was pushed by "influencers'. I had a coach and burberry duffle but I wasn't fond of them since they lose shape and kinda annoying. However, if you guys want to wait, yes spend the money on Frank Clegg. Such supple craftsmanship but I do baby it--unless im going to a c level executive meeting i'm taking the Stuart and Lau but if i'm just dress events only--Frank Clegg. But the best part of that bag is the opening. You'll be surprised how difficult it can reach into a duffle when the opening zipper doesn't open all the way. You can't go wrong with the first or last one in the list.
I hope the bags manufacturers do NOT listen to these two about the metal feet, I actually think these metal feet are useful. they give me an option to put the bags on the floor, especially during the covid 19 time, I do not want my bags to touch the airport and or other places floor. I respect your opinion, but it is just your opinion, nothing more.
One small request: Durability is obviously important when you're paying so much for bags, backpacks, etc. They should last longer than a year of regular use, unlike a cheap backpack that a student might replace every year. One thing I'd like discussed in these reviews is the quality of the stitching, the durability of the hardware (e.g. zippers), etc. Oftentimes, things come apart at the seams when the fabric or material itself is of good quality. This issue is (I would hope) less of an issue for the expensive bags, but it should be examined and maybe even highlighted for the more budget-friendly bags.
Always travel with metal feet. Protects your bags when placed down when checking in. Greasy pizzeria counters and floors and in cities like Miami, NY or Seattle it does rain often it’s nice that the leather never touches wet surface. And the bottom leather Scratched look, looks horrible. #Keepthefeet
I actually look for duffles with metal on the bottom to protect the bottom of the bag. Who cares about scratching, you ain't gonna leave it on your car.
My favourite ones are the Frank Clegg Signature Travel Bag and the ones from Stuart & Lau. Own a couple of both, and I just absolutely love them. Brilliant quality, and very, very stylish.
@@thecapone45 You're welcome to think 75% of the bag touching urine stained airport bathroom floors is better than 100% of it touching urine stained floors. Others of us think it's an all-or-none game. You may read things literally but you lack common sense.
I was always under the impression that the metal feet was to protect the bottom of the bag in case it is dragging against the floor. Don't know if it's true or not though.
Have simple, stylish ones that express you but arent over fanatic. It's nice to have some funny or nostalgic motives but not nicolas cage face until you are using it while you are with friends.
AW just ordered the Stuart & Lau weekend bag in navy and tan. Any good ideas to match a Dopp kit with this bag? Thanks for the weekend bag suggestion, can’t wait till it arrives!
Luv the Frank Clegg Signature Travel Duffel. I can’t decide between the Chestnut Harness Belting or the Chestnut Smooth Tumbled Leather. The belting forms a wonderful patina and has more structure. The tumbled is so soft and luxurious. What are your thoughts? Can you recommend one over the other and why?
Since my hair is thining my barber told start wearing a hat for hot summer days. I have never been worn hats before of hats so I have no idea where to begin. Couldn't find any videos about it. I would really appreciate some suggestions. Thanks for a great channel
I liked all of the bags but I imagine that it would be difficult to find them in the UK. I guess the metal feet are a protective feature for people who like to rest their bags on the floor while waiting in airport check in queues and then kicking them along with their feet as the queue moves forward, not something I would do by the way.
If you are old school go for full leather with wool interior travel bag. Metal feet is wanted because it will add protection from everything you are going to put it on. If you don't like yout boss always throw it feet down on his car :)
@AWxInc Hi I want to buy the same bag that Dorian has from Frank Clegg but they have 3 different leather versions on their site: Smooth Tumbled Leather, Harnessing Belting Leather, and Shrunken Grain Leather. Which does he use specifically as I like the look of that specific leather. Thanks!
I want one fro Carl Friedrik Weekender but... too expensive, so I bought a faux leather in Zara for 49.99€ and looks great (Not a weekender it's a bowling bag a bit smaller but enough)
Great content as always!! I have been waiting for this video, because I have been looking for a weekender bag. And the company I have been looking into is Mahi-leather, which looks great imo.
The metal feet are to protect the bottom of the bag from the ground. Think of all germs and bacteria you get on your shoes, and everyone else. Do you really want that coating the bottom of your bag, and seeping through into your clothes? Less likely with leather but still you can't wash it, only use a mild cleaner
You know what the problem? Your content fits American viewers. I mean costs mostly. For me, (I live in Poland) a bag that costs about 100$ isn't an budget friendly option. Moreover most of Poles don't even make 1000$ a month, so paying that much for a weekender bag is unimaginable. The thing wouldn't be that tough for Western Europeans, but for central and eastern is. Just letting you know, great video as always! Edit: I just checked the prices in our shops, and those budget friendly options start at less than 30$. As you see the difference is huge.
No because you're not going to be dragging or putting the bag down on rough or wet ground no matter what. That's why we find the metal feet unnecessary.
You don't want metal feet, so then what would you prefer? I'd rather have tough metal feet than leather or plastic rubbing against the floor. Come on, guys.
These bags are form over function. They look stylish, but only works if you like to move the bag from your apartment to your car to the hotel (basically, a CA/Hollywood lifestyle). I rather get a functional luggage like Pakt One Bag or even Minaal bag or Aer Travel. And if I'm going get judged for my choice of bags, so be it.
This is totally not related to the bag topic but I couldn’t help but notice Dorian’s very thin frame, arms and face. You look soooo thin now. What’s up with you Dorian?
We actually have recommended a few of their products over the years. Are they the best? No, but for the price some of their stuff is a great value. What was your experience with them?
AWxInc very non responsive customer service. Tried to get a refund, but it took ages for them and multiple emails (they would say they were going to submit refund, but kept delaying it).
One of the few channels on RU-vid that are not focused on Fashion Infomercial. You must be used to watching alpha m and teachingmensfashion. Those guys will sell you anything for money. 😂
Disclaimer : All these products are for people who has too much money and don't know how to spend it ! If u are in the average (like me), u can't afford to buy these bags. Except if u save ur money during a half year. Be prepared for some sacrifices... Also if u have only a hundred of euros, u should check for fast fashion brand like Zara, H&M, etc. PS : Love ur channel but i'm not the good target. However i enjoy fantasize about all the products u showcased^^
