Omg the "uppercut your gran" part of that is too relevant to me 🙈 I hate to admit it but I accidentally did exactly this playing beatsaber 🙈 don't worry, she's fine and no damage was done, but the very next day she almost got it from my brother too!! 🤦🏼♂️ So we set some strict ground rules for playing VR in the house after that...👀😂 ps. She's 82, so you can imagine my absolute horror, but she immediately laughed. Tough ol' bird 😂
I’d say that Eleven Table Tennis is a must have VR game. It plays just like real life, and the Quest 3 mixed reality mode is awesome. I know the list was for solo playable games, but I mostly play this table tennis game against the bots, so I’d say it counts.
One game I'd really recommend is Until You Fall - pretty nice roguelike with increasing difficulty levels and various weapons to kill baddies with. I played it on Quest 1 and I'm still playing it from time to time on the Quest 3 (yes, I'm not very good at it)
@@JuicyMartoisethey actually made one of these to prove sword art online is possible. But it’s very obviously a suicide helmet. There’s only 1 and it has a huge spike that once receiving a death input slams it to the centre of ur brain killing you instantly
I feel like I made a mistake buying red matter 2 as my very first game and playing it because now nothing else compares. I bought 3 other games and didn't like them. I absolutely loved red matter 2 .Is there anything else like it??
I have most of those games and agree. The ones not on the list that i find myself returning to often are Phantom Covert Ops, Espire 1 & 2 and of course my all time go to for a quick romp Beat Saber
A few single player games I think are very solid on Quest 3: Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxies Edge Hubris Pixle Ripped 1995 & 1978 Zero Caliber Iron Man
Dungeons of Eternity might be another great pick, as it's a very enjoyable solo experience as well, even tho it excels in multiplayer. Into the Radius is another noteworthy addition. And the new Medieval Dynasty VR Game seems pretty promising already, with quite a lot of updates coming soon. Great list tho, pretty great recommendations! :D
I love your funny and articulate review! For a techie, you're very literary--so keep those alliterative descriptions and pop culture allusions coming ;-)
I'm surprised you didn't select the excellent Dungeon of Eternity as your co-op/single player dungeon crawl game. I also tried the first game of Arizona Sunshine, but after 30 minutes of playing with a friend, I asked for a refund... I hope Arizona Sunshine 2 is much better.... I'm interested in have your comments on this subject.
0:01 that is exactly why I bought it , I thought : that’s it I dreamed of smth like that since i was a kid , and now i am 35 two kids ,wife ,i am so tired of a lot of shit in my life , that would fix me up .. And that works really good , The emotions i got from that thing is really cannot be compared with anything
Asgard's raft too is so good that i'm playing it for the third time now but I am definitely gonna get that medal of honor again. I've got assassin's creed nexus for over a month now and only played it in an hour
Hello. Love your videos. Just wondering if you are going to do a Meta Quest 3 follow up video. One of those "6 months later. Is it still worth it" type videos? I'm thinking of getting one but would like to know if updates have made any difference to the experience. Thanks very much Steve
Same, there's a good pay-over-time deal on Amazon, I'm so tempted to get it, but want to know if it's good as a standalone or if I'm going to need to use it for PC hookup to get the best VR games.
I had the rift loved it i had the Rift S couldnt use due to ipd same with the Quest 2 so i then got the valve index and again loved it and the controllers were amazing then 2 weeks ago i got the quest 3 witb the bobovr pro m3 headstrap and controller grips that also makes my quest 3 controller 1.2in longer so great for my big hands and i have to say my index is over because the quest 3 is unbelievable considering how much they cost and pair it with Virtual desktop (well ive changed to Steam link now as it works perfectly for me) connected to my Pc via AV1 10bit and wifi 6 and its mind blowing. Then the lenses wow just wow i can now move my eyes instead of moving my head which is great. So for me im super excited to see what games we get because the quest 3 is so powerful and looks so good i can see a lot more people coming to quest and vr in general which is great for the community. One thing i would change is the overlap of the image i felt was better on the index as on the quest if i look to the left or right with my eyes i can see the overlap of the lenses which i wish wasnt a thing but im still happy with my purchase and cant wait to try all these games so thank you ❤
thanks nice video great ,they do sound good i just bought quest 3 my first vr ever i bought the 512 for £465 so am waiting on some accessories and if really get into it am thinking of building my own type of vr rig so i don't run and hit into things
If you really got hold of the 512Gb model for £459 then that would be an absolute bargain. Was that second-hand or return/reconditioned etc? I've just checked online retailers but can't find the 512Gb for anywhere near that price. I bought the same model last year for £619 but I was adamant that it was something I wanted to get into and try.
@@edturner9670 it was ebay by now item there was one for 400 pounds with 12 postage but didn't get that in time so next one was one i got for 465 with free postage , it was new as the tabs on both sides were in fact not open ,i took the gamble on it as not all pictures can be trusted but did come it matched picture's the code on back mfg date 2024/01 so seems to brand new i not used yet waiting on few stuff got lens protectors and using some foam clay with 2 soft pouches i have lying around to make quick lens case , my large spend will be better head set bobvr latest one looks good ........and i do diy ideas for safety running in one spot no idea if works but just basic on the cheapest way to keep safe with out running into things ........ my idea for 512 is that on my mobile its 128 maxed out my laptop is 2 tb and i have 800 gb left and tablet is 64 is maxed so say future proofing it for better or more new graphics that may come or if load movies on to it this my first vr .....thanks for reply
@@edturner9670 hes forcing it. I guess it jus depends on what you are playing. Hes probabaly playing gorilla tag and expecting the lobby to be filled with adults
Yeah specially in mr games there is no any motion sickness , and in vr games there is no motion sickness wile your walk with your legs , but as soon as you start to walk with the stick here it is ..but I got used to that after about two hours of gameplay and it disappeared , other disappointing fact that walking with something other then my legs brakes the immersion a lot , when you walk yourself you are in there like in star-trek’s holodeck or in matrix
A lot of standalone games are of a more casual nature. in part due to the mobile phone level of CPU/GPU performance and the performance hungry nature of VR, but also the comparatively small user base and market. Despite that, Asgards Wrath II, The Walking Dead series and Into the Radius are definitely fully fledged games. The immersion of VR is also hard to beat for the jaded imagination of adult gamers. ...and of course the Quest 2 and 3 aren't limited to just stand alone VR. Just be warned that if you play well executed hybrid or modded VR titles like No Man's Sky, Subnautica or GTA V in VR, you're unlikely to want to play them flatscreen again.
