Thanks, man. The time you put to gather all the content & to create this video, which saves the rest of us a lot of time, is very much appreciated! I do hope you're given credit where it's due, and may your channel reach the masses soon enough. Goodluck!
Thanks for covering our plates Jeremy! We instruct owners of Black Seed Ink plates to etch firmly. Thus, we would like to add that we reached out to Jameson Lopp after our test results about his decision to do both a "light scribe" (left plate) and a "firm scribe" (right plate). He agreed that the "light scribe" was not a fair demonstration given that it would be considered user-error and not product error. Furthermore, no other device was given the same "light" effort (i.e. light punch). To Lopp's credit, he graded based on the results of the "firm" scribe and awarded Black Seed Ink A's across the board - ZERO data loss. Again, thank you for the coverage! Keep an eye out for our X Series "Crypto Storage for Moon Travel" coming in June 2022.
got ur stuff in the mail today. never felt better. I LOVE you etching tool, i was scared i wouldnt be able to etch good. but the tip made it very easy, felt like slicing butter. 20/10 , i recommend it to all my friends. thanks.
I just checked your RU-vid channel (I’ll look online when I’m finished here) and you can expect another customers, even before watching this video. Loving what I’m seeing
@@Gigi-bx8td dude I didn’t even realised how stress I was. I never felt safe with login into stuff and have everything connected to my number email and stuff. That’s what I wanted to get away from! Get yourself a ledger and one of these bad boys and ur good to go. It’s the size of a debit card. My biggest fear was travelling with the seed, I don’t want to raise suspicion..this completely blends in my wallet with my other cards
The most secure seed recording method is "Stamp", because it has these characteristics: 1) Deeply and large area engraved with wohle words/numbers, not just a smail point) 2) Seed words/numbers never fall off 3) Not affected by grid deformation All other methods have obvious drawbacks: Engrave/Etch: Not deeply engraved Tile: Seed words/numbers can fall off. That mean if a child gets it, and plays with it, seed words/numbers will fall off (reset). These situation will also happen at great impact force/stress (e.g. Bullets, cars). Punch: Affected by grid deformation
Thank you! Your video saved me from buying a uselss seedphrase wallet. After checking out Jameson Lopps spreadsheet I decided to go with Hodlr Swiss Disc. It looks so solid after all the stressors
You are a treasure! Tremendously helpful and accurate information in all of your videos. I am sure it won't be long before this channel starts to blow up. THANK YOU!
Thanks for putting in the effort and covering this other gentleman‘s work who certainly did a tremendous amount of effort. Wish everything I considered buying had a review like this!
Great vid bro needed this. You should do more on safely securing your crypto. I been in crypto since 2019 and vids like this are still very much needed.
FOLKS! 1. get 4 steel wheel plates 2-3 mm thick with 10mm hole in the middle for a bolt. 2. you can adjust diameter of plates for your needs! plate 1- 86mm diameter plate 2 - 74mm diameter plate 3 - 62mm diameter plate 4 - 49mm diameter 3. lay them on top of each other like pyramid the biggest at the bottom 4. divide them into 24 section 15degres each with marker pen. 5. stamp in every section of each ring one character on each plate from outside in or the opposite as you like with 4 characters for each word. 6. when you are done put it together with a 10mm bolt and when all words are readable make a tiny incision on the edge of each plate and remember what is the RIGHT position of these incisions because this your - KEY TO YOUR SEED! count self how many combinations of the incisions in right order there is when you have: 4 rows with 24 characters in each row, and the all 4 incisions must be in right order/position. tell me if i'm wrong ha! ha!
Great video as always! 👍 I wanted to ask something unrelated: 🤔 I found these words 😅. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). What should I do with this? 🤷♂️
@@jbone79absolutely yes you are right. We started with stamping it ourselves but now that we accumulated more, we aren't risking with a set up that wasn't tested to survive fire or pressure
great video however you did NOT mention BitBar which I believe passes ALL your tests.........comments....not sure why you did not mention it as it has been on the market for a couple years
Loved your video. Thanks! Great useful content en it's just right. I thought you might make (short) videos about the bip39 phrase. I would definitely have watched it. Now I'll follow your advice and look at other people's content. :)
i have seen the cypherwheel seed phrase storage, it looks like a kid riddle with a padlock and a wire - and all that for $250!!! - they should tell that at parties! ha! ha!
It's a separate app you have to download onto your ledger called recovery check. Then you enter your words onto your ledger (it can even be offline if you like) and it will tell you if it is correct. The cool thing about it is doesn't need to know your words to know it's correct because it compares a derivation path from the key stored on your device and a key generated from the words you enter to see if they match. Then you can delete the app (it's kinda big)
@@megamaximpie yes, what i meant was after a long time if you have some seedphrase and want to check if it matches a certain ledger, without running into the risk of getting it blocked. But they have a tool to check as Jeremy mentioned.
@@anddontcallmeshirley- What's so funny, man? A seed phrase is like a password and you should update it by migrating your digital assets to a new wallet periodically. Switching wallets improves the security of your assets and reduces the risk of getting hacked long-term. Also, many older wallet seed phrases were generated with faulty and insecure seed phrase generators that weren't truly random and could be replicated using certain exploits. Keeping up with technological advancements and improved seed phrase generators that are truly random is essential. Many old wallets got hacked for this reason. Just saying...
@@IJurman123 That depends on the seed generator that was used to create the wallet! Not all wallet providers use the same method to generate wallet seed phrases. Some had exploits and got replicated and HACKED. Research the topic! Things aren't always that simple. These things can be quite complex.
