I’m at this fucking point with mw3 I’ve done literally everything on RU-vid I even got a new Ethernet cord my internets fine changed my cores I’ve reinstalled the game 10 times verified game files everything on low settings or off I’ve had it with this dogshit game.
Man, I don't even know how, but this even fixed the laggy menus and UI on my end, incredible that we have to mess around so much to simply enjoy a game we paid top dollars for... I assume the firewall port rules that you mentioned are crucial to be able to run this game as intended. Your video is a godsend, I was so frustrated with the stutters and lags I almost quit the game as a whole, truly appreciated, and keep it up!
What an epic response, man. I'm so truly glad I could assist you. I had countless issued last year with MW2 . And when MW3 was doing similar nonsense I also almost refunded and called it. Like you said even with top end pcs. Having to mess around with such silly settings, to just actually play the game normally is pathetic and a joke from the devs side. This somehow fixed it but didn't fix it at the same time. Before it was happening in very specific times ( opening and closing inventory, pausing the game, typing in chat). That no longer happens, but now it just happens randomly all the time. Goes off and on like every 20-30 seconds. Until human enemies show up and then the entire game starts freaking tf out.
So regarding the menu, that has to do with memory leak(shity code on activision/sledgehammer etc) on their engine they have created. Memory leaks are very very tricky to resolve, because you're looking for a needle in the haystack. Could be one line of code that cause it out of thousands and thousands lines of code. That said, they should have scraped this old engine and created a new one from scratch.
turning vram scale down to 70 worked, I also saw your variablerate shading was off, mine was on by default. So I turned that off too. My game has been good since, thank you SO much
I'm genuinely so glad to hear this helped. It's unbelievable so far Into the games release we need to tweak unessary settings to run the game fine. I have a 4070ti and 12700k cpu so don't need to do what I did here but... any way it's cod 🤣
AAA Multiplayer FPS Gaming is really going downhill particularly on PC. I have a fairly mid-range build and on BF2042, the game would play in slow motion for some god unknown reason on the 64v64 gamemodes which was never fixed, in The Finals the game also had major issues with packet burst and what not, then pretty much every CoD since Vanguard has had consistent issues with packet loss, crashes, network lag, cheating and increasingly powerful Controller AA. This is all while being able to maintain 100+ FPS on High settings, so its not a hardware issue. The worst part is these games are fun when they work for the most part. Its really grown as an issue on PC with the performance problems and basic features not working since 2021 I feel for whatever reason. Pre-2021 almost never had issues on games like MW19, BFV, BF1, Apex, GTA etc. I have tried on numerous occassions to switch back to console so I can spend more time actually gaming than fixing the games but console gaming just isn't it for me anymore, I like customizing settings, I like the variety of games on PC, I like the better performance of PC, I like the fact my PC also allows me to do a whole load of other tasks apart from gaming. Most importantly for me is I just can't do controller anymore, it doesn't feel rewarding now I know the main way to get good on controller is just to learn how to game the Aim Assist, gameplay also just feels so janky on controller versus mouse and obviously controller is no good for games like Strategy Games and what not.
Ay my brother you hit the nail on the head. I had this exact discussion with my friends the other day. Since being on pc it's always Watching videos to do this and that. You end up getting this feeling of did I stuff a setting up why does my game feel different . Like on cod I know for a fact there's an issue with my game and I can't sort out the sounds or bullet reg but it's most likely just the game and it's servers. But anyway its sad that we think like this. Just miss the older simpler gaming days, ways and their settings...

I was in the exact position, I stayed up till 1am to make sure I could get this video out asap!! Because it legit worked. And exactly how can we pay so much for a triple AAA game. Top end pcs and still to have to do so much nonsense just to play the game the way its meant to be!!
If you are having packet loss and have done everything in this video and still doesn’t work, try this. (Only for pc) open up your Norton settings and turn off (optimize gaming) setting. This completely eliminated my packet loss and I can run mw3 at the highest quality settings provided! Lmk if this worked for you!
Yes the anti virus software some how has protection mode over your pc’s components as well so they don’t overwork but since turning off the optimized gaming setting my games have not studdered once 🤙🏻
Thanks a lot, this video actually helped reduce the packet burst I was getting. I was getting 230 fps, then Nvidia reset all my settings. I forgot what I originally had. When I set the new settings I was averaging 170fps with insane packet burst. I followed the steps in this video and now I’m around 200fps but with no packet burst. Still not perfect but definitely did help.
It looks like the tip with the graphics settings really fixed the problem. I still don't understand what graphics settings have to do with network problems.
Like genuinly how the f*ck!! I'm running. A 4070ti 200meg fibre line up and down non of my system or internet are not sufficient. It's poor game optimization and poor servers im sure
Il be brutally honest I am not 100% but I do know it's like a by pass allowing a better straight forward access but at most likely compromised security. But the chances are very unlikely that anything will happen to you specifically of all the millions of players

Everyone please note a recent update was introduced and these might be out dated methods. Still worth a try but the main issue at the end of the day is most likely the game, poor optimizing etc. So patches might slowly fix certain things

@@ChaosGamingSA yeah ping stays low and stable no packet burst. Even have a bit better hit detection. Always use to screw around with ports and dmz on os3 etc

Didn’t work for me, it’s most likely the game because I have an Ethernet connection that gives me 4-6 ping on average, 620 mbps download speed 550 upload, so that’s good. My pc can run all of the best settings and constantly be at 240 fps, and when I tried them all at the lowest it still did nothing for my packet loss. Activision is ass
@Void92715 I feel you I get 1ms to 21ms in game. Running a 4070ti 12700k 32gb ram system. Also everything max. 500download 200 upload and still always have issues

I bought the game on steam first and the packet burst was so bad that the game was unplayable… I would have 5 ping and still have packet burst and my friends who bought the game on battlenet were having no issues. So I refunded the game and purchased it again on battlenet and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever. Might just be a Steam issue
Oh my god. It worked. I can't believe it. Vanilla, the game kept crashing with DirectX errors. My fix - Disable ALL overlays, including even Steam and Battlenet + turn off almost every application on startup in taskmanager. Now packetburst is fixed. The game is actually PLAYABLE. Unreal how bad the game is......
Also would love some advice i recently switched to pc and have like mirco stutters just before getting into a fight ...i get between 80 to 90 fps but play on a 60hz tv idk if thats an issue
the stutters are quite a common thing but shouldnt always last. Id say try watching best settings /graphic settings for WZ or Multiplayer - bonus if you can find a review using a similar setup/gpu to you

I’ve done all this have my graphics at minimum settings with a 6600 xt absolutely nothing works including uninstall it all started with the season 3.5 update no issues before

@ChaosGamingSA BN, it's very strange. I'm not sure why it happens, but it reallt renders the game unplayable in Ranked mode. II port forwarded all my games over the past few years but this title is extremely bad.

@@footballsa4190 I had that for about a month after launch of MW2. I had to wait for sufficient updates. Make sure your drivers are up to date. Close all your rgb softwares and unessary apps. Try run best graphic settings according to your setup
btw this is to only minimize it sometimes its ur internet but this game is really badly optimized and people with 5 gigs up and down are still packet bursting so dont punch ur self about it to much blame it on the billion dollar company who cant fix there game.
my only question is, why do you need frame generation on cod? Literally pointless if you have a good to a beast computer. You only need as many frames as your monitor can refresh at maybe 5 to 10 frames above. Anything more is just pointless. Cod just needs to fix what causes it in general. Or not release another game until they figure out the problems of the last game
@OhhhQue 100% agree with you. The devs are extremely disconnected from the community. Their pockets are lined up too thickly and they are still trying to bag more. A video like this with 80,000 views regarding a weather setting causing packet loss and still they haven't fixed it after so many months. Doesn't make sense
this did help me. But everytime i close game. I have to do it all over again. It doesent saves the TCP and UDP that i created. How can i save it so it stays there so i wont have to do it every single time i close game ?
@@ChaosGamingSA Hello. Yes the tcp and udp thing does help. But ones i close game,and maybe after a while i come back to play again. It can run smoothly for some time and then i get the packet loss/burst lag again. When i go back to defender firewall to se if TCP and UDP file are there. They are not. So i have to create them all over again.
@@erikjohansson4143 do you possibly have a firewall setting on. Have you maybe followed all the steps correctly with adding it and saving it. Maybe rename them as well to something you can definitely find

Been using all these solutions on my ROG Ally, flushes dns, winsock reset etc. Set up dns ports but nothing works. I sometimes tinker with a setting, have no packet loss for like 2-3 games, and then out of nowhere it comes back. Why the fuck am i putting so much effort into just "playing" a game i spent £60 on!?!
In the beginning I had the same situation. Packet loss fine for my first 2 or 3 games on every time I logged in. Then constant bad packet loss. Tweaking settings temporarily fixed things. I'm not sure if you have access to the same settings on the ROG ALLY. It's poor servers and optimization at the end of the day from the devs
I tried everything but nothing... Finally the only thing that helped me is when i turned of Upscaling/Sharpening. Now the game works amazing i dont have anymore those problems! On PC!

Didn't do a damn thing. Still had the same issue. Did everything to the specifics and nothing. Thumbs down. Watched another video and it didn't fix it. Lobby screen is fine, then it's just laggy, shots take forever to reg, and then it times out.

Can be whatever you want, it won't effect the rule, that's just for your reference so call if something like "allow call of duty ports" or something that you won't forget in the future.
Tried both of 'em. Didn't fix a damn thing. And yes, i tried to disable streaming textures, resetting the router, everything. It stays stable for a few matches and then boom packet burst and high latency all together like in the middle of the game, from nothing. I had the same problem with MW2 and even MW1 back in 2019. With MW1 i kinda managed to solve it by doubling the amount of RAM i had installed on my previous PC (I went from 8 to 16, don't ask me how it fixed it cuz i don't know) but now i have a new PC with a 6700xt, 16 GBs n all but it keeps happening, and only with Call of Duty. It just gets me so mad because it doesn't stop no matter what i try..
Howsit man I'm sorry to hear. If nothing works Remember the game is also not optimized and all that typical COD. We shouldn't have to do any of these fancy things just to run a 70$ game
@@ChaosGamingSA Exactly, i believe it’s a mix between the game and my connection. It’s weird because when i lag in-game i lag on Discord too, but it doesn’t happen in any other games i play. What pisses me off the most is i can’t prefict it, like it’s so random i can’t identify the source precisely, and asking for help on their website is completely useless.
Sad thing is mw3 is so advance technology wise even if you have the best pc components and latency it will detect it and raise your latency so by next update it'll be fixed and we'll have to find a new way to do this 😂

this game is just trash like any other new ones, it lets you win for a bit then connects you to a bad server with constant packet burst while console players don't experience any issue while shooting me, i don't even see them and i'm dead.
Bro I feel you I stopped playing cod for 3 months moved to xdefiant and what a far better experience. Cod definitely is rotten to the core dev wise and game files wise. It's a nightmare. The fact that weather settings affect packet loss is gross. If I drop my settings visually the packet loss comes back so now I have to play high settings
