I've been out on a couple dives with the 2 liter smack and I really enjoyed myself. I did the PADI online course, but then when COVID hit they closed down all the places where I could get under water certified. Now the prices to do that have doubled. I'll stick with this until I can get the underwater certificate. I watched the video primarily because of the compressor. I'd like to fill the bottle myself, but my main concern is purifying that air.

Love the video. I'm still looking for the Aruba video. Aruba sounds fun. Thanks I set mine up with ur video. But still need the pump. I've owned 3 spare air tanks from my previous Army Ranger Battalion and no you don't need to be scuba certified for this kind of diving. I just can't stand that one dude that does not like these tanks and spare air. Does not know what he's talking about. These tanks are worth the money. Plenty of time underwater. Yes I didn't go more than 30 feet but still thats enough for me.

So far so good, like I showed in the video on a 1L tank the compressor does get hot and u may want to cool half way threw. Other then that I only filled 5 times so cant really comment yet on how long it will last. Over all it has a 1 yr warranty and was cheaper then the other portable options. Yes so far a good buy. Way better then hand pumping as long as it keeps working. The top piece is called the 1st stage. I payed $256 for my yong heng and mid 70, for the tuxing filtration system. The non toxic, bio based, biodegradable oil ISO 46,, cost me 50 bucks. With the oil, raise the price a little compared to your set up. Plus the use of water. But the Yong heng is very powerful. I can fill 2 mini scuba tanks in 9 minutes. 4 minutes plus, for my Smaco S400 & 3 minutes plus for my Dive Portable lungs. Dive portable lungs is a bit shorter and a bit thinner, than the smaco. And Yes the smaco is very solid constructed and is $199. I payed $349 for the dive portable lungs by luck. Usually is 8 hundred dollars. Insane. And the hand pump is worthless. But what do amazed me is that he sells like an after market Yong heng looking, compressor.. for over 400 dollars. When i payed $256 ...for an original yong heng branded compressor. With 2 key features. People need to do their search, before getting price theft from these sellers. He also sells the oil at a higher price. 59.99 i believe. And i payed 10 dollars less

@@joewinkler28 but compared to my smaco.. yours came in with the carry suit case. Mine came in, with 3 carboard boxes. But also had that moulded foam pads to protect all contents. The Basic kit for the S400 with body bag , Yes is $199. But i think u paid $229, at most. Because yours came with the carry case and the mask. I veryfied on amazon.I paid 199 but as i mentioned. Mine came in 3 carboard boxes. The main outter box and 2 individual boxes with foam. 1 inner box holds the tank by itself. And the 2nd one, accomodates the 1st stage, 2nd stage and the hose. I do like, how smaco cares for their kits and use professional packaging. KUDDOS for them. My Dive portable lungs tank and its regulator was packed with the hand pump,, altogether in a USPS prepaid box.. all lose with no bubble wrap. The owner is so cheap that he dont even bother to have a carboard company to design a packaging for his kits. I also had leak problems with The Dive.portable lungs.

I bought a set up close to this, but I am a certified diver. I encourage all to get certified as i see many missing things here. What is you max weight for netural boyancy here? Have you tested this in a controlled enviroment before hitting open waters? What is your back up air supply? Even in ten feet, could cause death. Say your equipment here fails at 30 ft. You would not want to shoot straight up. Trapped air in your body can cause a heart attack or stroke. You need the training. You need more equipment. A redundant air source is most def needed. This bottle is good for about ten minutes. At deeper depth, about 3 minutes.

Hey dont forget to buy a small tube of regular white toothpaste.Colgate classic. And also take a small bottle with with dish soap. These 2 items u use them to coat your mask lenses. It will prevent your mask from fogging up. U first apply a bit toothpaste on each lense and rub it all the way. Then after you rinse it, apply a bit of dish soap, spread it with your fingers. And for rinsing. Just open the water with very little pressure and move the stream around your lenses. No fingers. Just move the mask in slow circles. Spill the water out and re rinse if necessary till the water is no longer soapy. U can also apply a bit of soap by the pool or beach. Rub it and just rinse with the salt water. Moving the mask at the rop of the water and drain it.

Technically you don't have to be certified to dive at all. It's just such a bad idea no dive centers or shops will rent you gear or fill your tanks without one. But as long as you never ever hold your breath, ever, and you stay under 20 ft or so you should be fine. My issue is the pumps, breathing contaminated air under pressure is deadly ,... Get certified.

So many things could go horribly wrong with this system. NUMBER ONE is that the cylinder is potentially a bomb. The pressure is enormous in any scuba system and the chances of an explosion are high especially if there is any contamination (grease, oil, etc.). NUMBER TWO is that proper breathing air compressors have an elaborate filtration system consisting of a moisture trap and filters containing activated charcoal and moisture-absorbing granules. These filters need to be renewed often to keep the air quality of the breathing air safe. NUMBER THREE, hand tightening the pillar valve (the part that is screwed into the top of the cylinder - the bit you did not know the name of) is not good enough, it needs to be tighter than that- ( I have personally witnessed a pillar valve shoot off of a cylinder that had just been filled. The operator had failed to notice the valve was turning loose by itself due to the increase in pressure, the valve went straight through his hand as he grabbed it to pick it up and the cylinder spun around due to the escaping air injuring a second person and causing a huge amount of damage to other cylinders and the compressor). NUMBER FOUR - high-pressure cylinders fall under the DOT and by law need to be internally inspected by a qualified inspector once a year and hydrostatically inspected every 4 or 5 years depending on what country you are in. Any person who operates a high-pressure compressor must be certified by the relevant authority of the country or state they operate in. Lastly, NUMBER FIVE scuba diving is a safe recreational activity as long as the person has had some training by one of the recognized certifying agencies such as NAUI, PADI SSI to name a few. The problem with this system being used by someone who has no training is that one litre of air at 230 bar will last the average person only a few minutes and if this system is used as the primary air source an untrained person is at very high risk of a barotrauma related injury if they suddenly find themselves unable to breathe while still at depth and shoot toward the surface not knowing that it would be necessary to exhale while ascending. FYI I have been in the scuba industry for over 30 years having owned and operated a scuba charter business, have filled hundreds of thousands of cylinders, done over 8000 dives and have been a scuba instructor since 1990 - NAUI 12883.

@@joewinkler28 wow. Well that was exciting then. Yeah sure not the same as a pool. I had scuba gear when I was younger and many friends would use it. Some would use a lot of air others very little over similar time. I'm 68 now. That was nearly 50 years ago. No BCD then. I live on my sailboat and I dived down to clean my prop. It took me 6 or 7 dives. It's about 1.5 mats. I then started looking at these. I thought perfect for that kind of maintenance. The boat is 3m draft so that would be my use. Not scuba diving per say. dive shops won't fill a tank for an uncertified diver. The liability is too great. The other point is air tanks for SCUBA require annual retesting - SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus ie for firefighters) are retested every 5 years. Carbon Fiber have a lifetime of 15 years from 'date of birth' ie manufacture. (with 'every 5 year retesting') They can be extended by 15 years, but only one company in the world is allowed to recertify CF tanks like that.

Scuba compressors or just compressors for breathing gas systems in general are oil less and are pacifically designed and made to give you clean breathable air. I did check it out before hand and with the included filter u couldn't taste any oil or anything else. I still got a much larger carbon scrubber when I finally used it. When I finally got everything working again with my MacGyver skills lol. The tank in real world ocean environment with current and at maybe a average of 15' the tank maybe lasted 3 1/2 min. I did have to swim about 100 yards threw some surf. So maybe I was out of breath and breathing a little heave but that's real world. I do not get it. 35 minutes to fill the bottle to 206bar including moisture and contaminates.. 1 litre x 206bar =206litres of air. Average human breathes 6 litres per minute at REST not finning, so at best laying on the beach sunbathing at atmospheric pressure (1 Bar ) 206/6 =34.33 minutes breathing until empty A swimming diver would usually estimate 12lpm on the surface206/12=17.16 mins.. Dive to 10meters, ambient pressure is 2 bar air consumption 24 lpm, so 206/24= 8.58 minutes to empty. 15meters, 30 lpm 206/30= 6.8 minutes. So if you dive to 10meters and assume an ascent of 10m per min which is a bit quick, the dive from leaving the surface to beginning ascent is 7.58 minutes, Then you should factor in a reserve so not to reach the surface empty... cant understand carting all that weight to potentially enter the incident pyramid pit for a 5 minute dive?, just my opinion but a bit crazy to me.

Bet it sounds solid 💯👌 that's why I got it. But I bet u go down 15' u won't be down for more then 5 min in perfect conditions. My conditions were not perfect. I had a 300 meter swim to my reef threw medium surf. In my real world experience when I put the mouth piece in. I went down to a average depth between 10'-15'. At that depth with my rate of breathing, witch I thought was medium. Tank lasted me about 3 1/2 min with no sign of depletion until last breath. The gage did work but it goes down so fast u will miss when your out. Very dangerous sounds like u know the risks. I just would never strap this on my kids and tell them have fun. there is several problems with this system. 1st. you get what you pay for 2nd. in the USA you must have a USA DOT hydro stamp they don't & should have a vip done this is done every year or when the tank is opened 3dr. the filter in that is probably all ready bad. and wont stop bad gasses from getting compressed into the tank. 4th. compressor should have some type of a safety so it does not go over 3000 psi if you forget it becomes a bomb 4500 psi will kill you. 5th. i have seen this system and they are cheap your life is worth more. 6th. for the money you have into this you can get certified in scuba and do it correctly. i assume you are not certified = do you know what to do when you run out of air ? so you dont get a air embolism. or a lung over expansion injury. and for those who say i am going to stay shallow it can happen in a swimming pool. 7th. this is made in china the same people that brought you a virus they dont care if something happens to you there is no way to hold them accountable. in the USA these are sold as a back up in case something happens to the main unit. LAST of all your life is worth taking a class and doing it properly

Although I agree with you on most points particularly about the air quality which if it's an oil less system it should be ok. And while diver training is good they tend not to talk about all the things that can to wrong. That being said I also believe people should have the right to make their own decisions and risks. You should look at some of the things from the 60s-70s-80s scuba magazines used to encourage people to make their own gear. I say check your air quality and always keep breathing, stay shallow.

Probably not going to make another about this. Put it this way after reviewing my footage I cant use any sound because I'm mother F#$%ing it the hole time. I also dont want to show the dive because it does actually look cool and give a false view of the product. The pump was junk leaked and would not fill tank more then 100psi. I did fix this but after taking it all apart it is very cheaply made and gets real hot real fast. The tank is worst. Seemed like when I first put it together it was fine no leaks. But as soon as I put it in saltwater and it dried the mouth piece started to leak. Not bad but enough to empty your tank if it was not completely tuned off. Last after seeing all these problems i dont even feel comfortable strapping 3000psi of cheap Chinese bullshit to my body. Look i took it with me to the nicest reef I have ever seen and had a way better time just free diving it. To much shit to deal with for a 3 min dive.
