That’s cool to find out you’re a UofSC alum! I am too, class of 2020. I got back into baseball this year after not paying attention to it for ~15 years and have enjoyed your videos a ton!
Blake Snell has an opt out that he’ll probably take with how the Giants played, and it is very likely that we got only him or Chapman, and they paid Chapman, so Snell might opt out. I have hope Buster Posey can either get some good players to try and replace the Cy Young type player Snell is, or resign him to a slightly longer deal.
I’m shocked there was no mention of Blake Snell. he’s gonna opt out of his contract he got from the Giants and get paid the $ from a team. (I hope the Giants can keep him around)
I'd be very surprised if Teoscar doesn't resign with the dodgers. Dude said it himself he signed there to play meaningful games and I'd be surprised if they don't offer him a multi year deal
5:51 Ha-Seong Kim has a mutual option which is all but guaranteed that he is opting out of thanks to Kim hiring Scott Boras as his agent recently. I doubt the Padres resign him since it sounds like he wants a longer term deal. I see the Giants or even the Dodgers get him if they don’t get Willy Adames. But he’ll have a bunch of options to choose
The issue for all interested parties besides Kim himself is also that he got labrum surgery and the Padres don’t have a definitive timeline when he’ll be available to return. He’ll probably have to settle for a prove it year contract before reentering the market
Mets fan here, love Jose Iglaseas. How do you feel about the Mets holding up the OMG sign all throughout this magical run while Jose bats over .300, just for him to sit in back to back elimination games in favor of Jeff McNeil? Haven’t seen much conversation about it but it hurt me a lot tbh.
Pillar said he's retiring Carson Kelly is probably the best catching option and unfortunately mutual options are rarely picked up. Kim could be interesting to watch there though.
As a Dodger fan, I know they will continue to spend, but I don't think they will sign more than 1 marquee player. It feels like they will either extend Teoscar Hernandez or Sign Willy Adames, and kind of sit back quietly after that. Last offseason was really the high point I feel.
As a dodger fan who’s followed Friedman since he was hired, that’s very unlikely, we will definitely be adding 2-3 pitchers and 2 solid utility guys including teo so make that 3 position players
@@anonymousdogg1559your point and mine can be true at the same time. Marquee player = star. I’m just saying that the dodgers probably will not be adding multiple top ticket free agents like they did last year, which is on par with Friedman’s pattern. 2021-Freddie signing + adding non-star depth at pitching, 2022- No stars added (maybe JD but that deal was very team friendly) and some non-star depth, 2023- Shohei and Yama mega deals, along with Teo signing. I am just saying to not expect the dodgers to go on a crazy spending spree like last year.
i can see us signing max fried, been rumored for years, he's said before he eventually wants to play for his hometown team & we desperately need a lefty starter
Marc, it would be hilarious to see Juan Soto go to the Mets when either the Yankees lose the World Series. The Bronx would just spontaneously combust when that happens. I’ll be roasting some marshmallows on that fire
Fried is headed țo SoCàl. It’s where he’s from there plus he was in the Padres organization before Preller traded him. I hate to see him go but the Braves rotation will be fine with the 2 Spencers Sale plus whichever innings eater they pick up for the back of the rotation.😊
Mets: Alonso, Byrnes Profar. (Bader if he understands he’s there for D-War & pave way for Gilbert or Jett or Clifford or Ramirez,) Would like to see them sign Dev-Williams. If one were to add Soto to 2024 Mets & 40 HR’s is closer to 30. Ad Profar and we are probably in WS. As Nimmo was on 1 leg. My point: Soto $ better spent on pitching and spread. The exact opposite of what I always wanted them to do. Trade for Castillo from Seattle because he gets paid more than other 2 #1a’s & remember their offense is abysmal. This will likely cost Mauricio and then some. (Sproat or Blade if I must but they’d likely want more bats. Acuna? ) Trade for Diaz in Cincinnati that would be reasonable but not free. Then the Coup De Graz: Trade One of the 3b/SS’s and Scot and financial relief to Texas to Ret4er8n of De 🐐. Thats my perfect offseason a/o today. Call me crazy but Mets trajectory went tits up the day he signed with the Rangers. Find a way to bring him home & not have to demand 180 innings from him and the sky’s the limit. Castillo Manea with the surging Peterson and perhaps sign another reclamation project to eat innings. (Montas at the top, A semi retired BlueJay or Tiger at the bottom.) This works for me given what Stearns can do with what’s left. I may read this and think it’s ridiculous one day. But this works. Dance With Who Drove Ya I Say. Even bring back D’Arnoud if option doesn’t work. Alvarez has the holiday season to learn the concept of strike zone recognition. You said yourself option B is literally Brian McAan 4 years after we learned 100 games is way too much to ask of him. LGM: I really enjoy your vids.
The Phillies are another team that can afford Soto, if they're willing to hit the 300 mil payroll level in 2025. If I recall, Schwarber, Castellanos and Realmuto are coming off the books in 2026.
As a dodgers fan my top offseason picks would be 1. Resign teo 2. Sign adames 3. Sign tanner scott 4. Sign either flaherty or fried 5. Give buehler a 1 year “prove it” deal
I'm a lifelong Angels fan. The one game I went to this year, gold ol' Kevin was batting 3rd 🙃🫠🙃...And Ohtani is in the World Series 😐...with the DODGERS 🥺😢🥺😢
I don't think Tony necessarily "wants to get paid a lot", I mean obviously he wouldn't mind it, but he's made it clear he wants to stay here in Baltimore
The thing about Fried is that a) he's super inconsistent and b) it's becoming pretty injury prone. He got TJ when he was in the low minors, and he's a max effort guy, so I fully expect him to need a second TJ some time soon. BUT, if he's healthy, and he's on, he's almost unhittable, and if he's not unhittable, he's in the process of throwing a Maddux.
@@seanguzy9601 The Yanks don't want Rizzo, Torres and Verdugo to return. The deduction of their salaries provides plenty of room to give Soto whatever he wants. As for Cole, if he opts out, it's only to get a longer contract, not a higher AAV. He's not going to get more AAV that he's already getting with the Yankees.
You totally forgot to account for the impact of the loss of Ballys Sports Network money for many teams. It's going to heavily affect spending for 2025.
I would love for the red sox to resign tyler oniell and also sign anthony santander from the Os. Looks like they will trade away some outfield talent for pitching. But i think a huge potential name you left off was Roki Sasaki coming overseas.
4:30 while i hope HOU resigns Bregman, I know they’ll let him walk if Boras demands too much. After all, they did let Springer, Correa, and Morton walk in FA
It's foolish to overpay free agents just because they came up big in the postseason. From last season Jordan Montgomery is the poster boy for this mistake.
I think people highly over exaggerate Sotos likely contract I don’t see him making more than trout as trout was better when he got his contract than Soto is now
@@theMF16-26 I’m not denying he’s gonna get paid I’m saying he ain’t getting more than a 2 time MVP and top 5 every year he’s been in pior to getting his contract and even counting stats are better than Sotos it don’t make sense for Soto who’s a great player but not as good as trout his first 7 years in MLB
