Or mushrooms islands either, I tried it on bedrock. You have to go away from the island and then the farm will work. Then you could build a base there and not have to worry about mobs spawning there.
Ice blocks for mob farms just produces insane rates. You can basically afk there once and you won't have to go back there for a long time. Just make sure you make an auto sorter and your storage is huge, because it just produces a ton of drops.
THIS IS AMAZING! I had to start working during the day because at night the mobs were already starting to spawn. The water took forever but I definitely understand why its important. I went 150 blocks in the air just in case, and made 8 levels with each level having soul sand as described. I threw 2 tridents and havent even finished the roof and already am getting 9 different items consistently! Props!
This farm is great! I used to have an old fashioned mob grinder with pretty mediocre rates, but I just replaced it with this and I’m getting way better drops! Thanks Blazed!
It doesn’t look like there’s enough room for slimes to spawn. There are great slime farm videos that work really well. You do need to be in a mangrove swamp for them to work though
Hey blazed I was building this in realms and while I was waiting for some more string, to make more scaffolding for other layers, I was getting some mobs to spawn. Now that I have completely finished all layers with scaffolding and water, no mobs.. any thoughts?
note from me : 7 layers need : 55 total of solid blocks stack 8 layers need : 61,5 total of solid blocks stack, tbh u just use cobblestone, it still work, but @BlazedMC point is make easy to see and count every blocks
Yea if youd respond itd be nice, i personally made the mistake of building the farm over a river... can I fill it in to fix it or do i just need to move it and start again
@@BlazedMCs I think MCBE and MCPE has some differences. I play in MCPE. I tested this multiple way in creative, scaffolding always break the bubble column and can't push spider or any mob up..
@@BlazedMCs BTW I build this in my survival world. I build layer type 3 and total 8 layers, this was very painful and it took me a whole day. But it works great. Thanks.
Does the type of ice I use for the 3rd method matter? I made 9 layers with the packed ice variation and I'm having a difficult time getting mobs to spawn.
Max number of layers on 4 simulation distance (despawn distance is lowered to 44 blocks instead of 128 i believe)? I play on a realm (locked at 4 sim distance on realms for whatever reason) and want to know how many layers I can build. Thanks!
On the most efficient layer, when I place the water on the soul sand the water overflows down to the bottom at the the trident killer instead of being right on the edge of the hole
@@BlazedMCs it’s ok, that was only a problem on the top layer the other layers were fine. I think it’s because I did 9 layers not 8 like u recommended. All I had to tho was expand it one further so the water was at the edge
i placed torches all around at ground level beneath the ceiling and i think my loot rate went down for some reason but i dont find it logical, does it have some explanation?
I'm confused on the amount of blocks I will need for the farm because the intro says 9.5 and also 6.5 per layer so what's the total amount I will need? edit: also will I need glass cause I can see it in the build but not the items needed?
Watch the video :) You don't need glass, but I like it more. If you have glass, you need a roof. If you use solid blocks, you dont need a roof. The 9.5 is for the base, and the rest is per layer, so add them together
If you need more string try his iron farm or also you could use seed finder snd locate the nearest spider spawner and set up a trident killer at spider spawner for lots of string that's what I done.
Hi BlazedMC, I have been very active in your comment section for the last few days because I was trying a lot of mob farm designs for the last few days and they never worked😢. I was hoping that this design would work, but I've built 3 layers and nothing is spawning. Can you pls help? My device is Xbox 1 btw.
Wow. Why a 3x3 trident killer? Seems unnecessary. But works I guess. How do you get that xp when you afk to the side? You didn’t make a way to have the xp exit and move the player. 12 block roof overhang?????? Whyyyyyy. Light level for spawning is still 7 when dealing with sky light. It’s only block light that needs to be zero. Just make a 8 block overhang and keep the torches back from the edge on the roof. And worst of all. “Afk roughly middle of the farm and 20-30 blocks out. Or above. Or below. “ REALLY? You know most people play with a 44 block despawn range right. And mobs don’t spawn within 24 blocks? You said 7 layers to this farm? That’s 21 blocks high including the flooors. If people go 30 blocks up the mobs will all despawn before they get to the trident killer. 30 blocks to the side and half the farm is outside the spawning range. 30 blocks down isn’t ideal. But would at least mostly work. But if they actually afk close enough to get the xp then half the farm is too close to spawn anything in. Which is the other side of your vague instructions. “20-30 blocks? Must not be too important, I’ll afk 8-16 blocks and wonder why my rates are so much worse “ The game doesn’t change its rules for different people. Please take the time to actually work out the most efficient places to stand and give that direction. There are people who don’t know the mechanics and rely on you to give them something that will work. You can fit your farm in but it’s going to be different and tight to fit it fully at the different locations
Please help, I did the first pattern as he did in the video but no mobs spawn inside the farm no matter how far or close i am, it's not over or near a river it just doesn't work
