I honestly watch so many skin care vids and don’t think I’ve seen anyone else talk about Vitamin F to this extent. Dr Alexis upping the skincare knowledge game!
@@DrAlexisStephens, I saw Dr. Anthony Youn say that acne scarring is for life and that creams can only reduce the appearance of scarring for up to 40%. Is that true? It's in his video "7 Biggest Cosmetic Bangs for the Buck and 3 of the Worst"... I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
OMG, I needed this. I purchased Cyspera after watching your video, but it is extremely drying to the skin. My poor face is THIRSTY! I love that you always include affordable options. Dr. Alexis, I love what you are doing for the people. I have spent 10k on dermatologists and aestheticians trying to get rid of hyperpigmentation, then came you. ❤❤❤
Have so much respect for board certified dermatologists! The amount of schooling and hours required to become board certified dermatologist AND she is a cosmetic chemist!., crazy smart and knowledgeable! Love her videos too!
I have NEVER commented on ANY RU-vid video, no matter how impressed I was with the information. I was impressed and relieved when I stumbled upon your interview with Susan Yara concerning hyperpigmentation. After that one video, I wanted, needed to learn more. The way you explain and break down this information so that it can be understood by an average person is invaluable. I just wished I lived in Florida, because I'd be your next new patient. Thank you for sharing this information with so many of us who didn't know what we didn't know. (I also second Magda Civil...."Waiting on Dr. Alexis to drop her skin care line!")
Absolutely love your videos! So informative, authentic and relatable. I’m dark-skinned and suffer from hyperpigmentation that’s only gotten worse since my pregnancies. This is the first time anyone, even dermatologists I’ve seen have broken down Vitamin F. Thanks so much. I’ve ordered Naturium on your advice! You should have a million followers!
You’re a bad b. And I say this with all the respect in my heart. I so value the info you are sharing with people, it’s detailed, thorough, giving price points, full products list AND so much knowledge backed science and research you also include in the description box!! Thank you, it feels like you are making medicine more accessible. It feel like you truly truly just want to help people out. You make me feel pride as a fellow black girl.
I love how informative this video is. You get straight to the point but also add enough detail and information about the products to educate us. Thank you!
Dr. Stephens please make a video for skincare for over 50. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 When I watch your videos, I feel as if I’m in “Skincare School,” and yes, I take notes! I really appreciate all you’re doing to educate, inform, and build awareness for the importance of proper skincare. Thank you.
Thank you Dr. Stephen. Please make a video for skincare for mature woman ie. Over 50's. Also, let us know when you release your own brand. God bless you and your family.
I am so excited that you provide options that are cruelty free! It’s so difficult finding good recommendations for skin of color that are also cruelty free! Thank you!
Taking an evening primrose oil supplement orally has been life changing but it never occurred to me to use it directly on my skin as well! Thank you for your endless knowledge and honest product reviews
I used to take Evening Primrose for Menstrual cramps. It worked miracles in alleviating the pain. I also noticed that my fingernails grew rapidly and beautifully. Good stuff! I'll have to try it externally as well!
Ive been in the beauty biz for 25 yrs and have never heard a derm talk of Vitamin F. Sorry so late to this one but just found your channel this evening and have been binge watching. What a plethora of information you share with us. Thank you so much!!
Dr. Alexis! YOU ARE THE WOMAN! Thank you so much! I may have to fly to see you a few times a year after COVID because you are the dermatologist for me! No other Dermatologists are talking about hyperpigmentation like you and giving us real non-toxic solutions! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I want to Thank you so much Dr. Alexis!! I saw this video almost 3 months ago and decided to take your advice and try 1 of your recommended moisturizers. At 1st I bought the "Honest Beauty daily calm light weight moisturizer".. tried that for a couple of weeks & decided I liked it but it was not enough moisturizer on certain parts of my face, I then bought "Honest Beauty deep hydration face cream".. man the combination of both of these moisturizers is a game changer for me. I got more than I bargained for. I know this video was geared more towards fighting hyperpigmentation.. but switching moisturizers actually cleared up my skin!! I had no idea the previous moisturizer I was using (with fragrance) was the cause of my breakouts. To combat my acne I use to use mary Kay's acne treatment gel all over my forehead & t-zone DAILY, morning & night (that would help dry out the pimples). I no longer have to slather that gel all over my forehead lol. My forehead is clear without it. I was talking to my husband about it last night and told him I have to come back and write a review! It's the clear skin for mmeeee😂. I'm so pleased with my skin u just don't understand. Thank u, thank u, thank u❤❤❤
I am LOVING your videos Dr. Stephens! As a physician myself (gyn) I love that your information is backed by research and that you actually know what you are talking about. And I love that you have experience with these products. I am Caucasian but I’m Mediterranean with light to light-medium olive skin which tans very easily. I tan if I even look at the sun with sunscreen on! I don’t mind that but it causes old hyperpigmentation to pop up a little. I had a TCA peel a couple years ago (by a very good derm) which caused bad PIH which we treated with hydroquinone but those areas can hyperpigment with sun exposure. I also have dry skin and love my La Mer at night so maybe I’ll try the oil but which of these creams do you use? Thanks for all your hard work. You are a gem! And your skin is stunning!! I hope your mom is doing well. Mine was diagnosed with breast cancer (but DCIS thankfully) last year. Still all clear one year later.
Awesome awesome awesome video!! I love she takes her time to actually review price points, other choices like the oils.. and being honest and transparent! Yes huntyyy!
Thank you so much for educating us! I cringe when I think of all the nasty stuff I put on my skin as a teenager and in my twenties because of not knowing any better. Because of your sound advise and knowledge I am no longer torturing my skin!
I have not understood the whole Vit F and hyperpigmentation battle so well, until now. Thank you so much. The way you explain things is so easy to understand. Can we use these on the rest of our bodies where there's hyperpigmentation as well?
I’ve recently started using Paula’s Choice, and I would love to see a video about your recommendations from the brand. I absolutely love how knowledgeable and consistent you’ve been, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us ☺️
Hello Doctor! My mom is a brown skinned lady, and she doesn't know English so I am new subscriber to your channel to learn more so I can help my mom! I am a white skinned gal and of course her needs when it comes to hyperpigmentation and brown girl friendly products its incredibly crucial for mature skin ( she is 66!) Overall, I am loving your channel 🥰🌻 Much greetings from Texas and México!
I’m so happy I found you !! Your videos have been so helpful I’m in my 40’s and there’s so much I didn’t know thank you for educating me on skincare it’s never too late to learn ❤️
This came JUST in time because I was about to press the button on my cart. I usually make sure that I have ceramides but I need to hear from the good doctor.
I use the Great Barrier Relief from Krave Beauty. Has fatty acids. It sells for $28 and it has done miracles to my skin. Female owned, small company, and also eco-friendly.
Could you please do a video on best and worst foundations for our skin according to the ingredients. A few I'm interested in: 1. Nars 2. Pat McGrath 3. Estee lauder 4. Fenty 5. Dior 6. Tom Ford 7. Chantecaille 8. Suqqu 9. Lancome 10. Milk makeup
Foundations aren’t formulated to penetrate the skin which is why it usually doesn’t matter but you should oil cleanse or use micellar water before using a cleanser to get all the makeup and sunscreen off.
@@JustMe-po1ct Oh sorry🙈. Haha, really? Can you no longer do laser treatment once they turn grey? Thank God I have already started if that's the case 😅
Personally the only cure for this was lazer. Waxing is a great option but overtime that causes hyperpigmentation too although less than shaving by a lot. But the best solution is to just lazer it away my skin in the areas I've lazered are the best on my entire body and they were the most pigmented/scarred. Now they're just moisturized smooth and even toned and it's been 5 years without a single hair growing
The biossance moisturizers have been a saving grace for me. The gel and omega line I highly recommend to anyone with sensitive, combo, acne prone skin. It’s literally perfect❤️
Glad to see Liquid Gold on this list. I was planning on getting this when the weather gets warm. For now, I’ll just add a few drops of rosehip oil to my moisturizer. Thanks for this video.
Yes, Liquid gold! 🙌 It has helped my skin so much. I use it in the AM under my sunscreen and under my heavier Pyungkang Yul moisturizer in the evening.
thank you so much for mentioning Vegan products. I feel so much better about buying vegan nowadays and it's great that I could find a choice here for that.
So glad that I found your channel cause now I know what products to use to help get rid of my dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Thanks for explaining what the ingredients are for and why we need to read labels on our skincare products! 💕
I just last week purchased the Body Shop vitamin c line of products to help my hyperpigmentation. And now I’ve discovered your channel. Wish I had found you before spending that money.🙁. While I’ve seen some results from the Body Shop products I purchased, Now I believe that product line may have not been the best choice. This information you’re providing is invaluable. Thank you, thank you! Your background in cosmetic chemistry I believe makes all the difference in the world between you and some other dermatologists who only want to sell you a fade cream product with their name slapped on the bottle which contains Hydroquinone and does nothing for you (my personal experience). Thanks again for providing some information on the science of it all. Very, very helpful! I think your content has to be the best I’ve seen on RU-vid yet!
The two dermatologists products did not make the list, because of the fragrance added. We wouldn't have known. Much appreciated for your lists, Dr. Stephens.
omg so i picked up the paula's choice after i heard you on another video to look for unsaturated fatty acids on your moisturizer, im so glad this confirmed i did my research right
Your recommendations have been a game changer for me!!! I have mature, dry skin and live in the desert. The Ceremedx is incredible at night and top with evening primrose oil a few nights a week. I swear my fine lines and crepeyness around my laugh lines are shallower the next day! I switch back and forth between the Paulas Chouce and Naturium for day use and they play beautifully under makeup! Thankyou so much! No one else mentioned these vit.f products and they ROCK!!!
I can't lie! I so wanna hug you right now Dr. Alexis (but covid is real so I'll deal with a cyber hug). If no one told you today, just know that you are a gem! Thank you so much for this video. Time to take 📝📝📝
Hi Dr. Alexis, i came over from Danielle channel. She recommended this video for those of us that were looking for moisturizers and was dealing with hyperpigmentation. I remember you on her channel as well in cameos. This was a very informative video thank you so much. i have very dry skin and i have hyperpigmentation due to eczema.
This video is so, so helpful! Thank you so much for putting this together. My husband needs some help with sunspots and I've been putting together a simple skin care routine (he's already seeing some results--yay!) I've been wondering which moisturizer is best...I'm so excited to have some options!
I’m in the same boat. Did you find something that works for the sunspots? And what moisturizer does he like? My husband needs something that is easy and effective. Thanks!
Please consider making a video for oily skin. What are the best moisturizers, serums, and other skin care face products that work great for oily skin. I'm 36 years old and have occasionally break outs on my chin. Thank you!
Dr Alexis can you produce a video about the shelf life of various skincare products and how they should be stored? For example, I recently discovered that some products should be refrigerated. Also, when a products shelf life has expired, does it become toxic or just ineffective? Thank you.
You’re channel is so amazing, I always take so much information away from your videos. Thank you so much for taking your time & energy to educate us. 🙏❤️💯
🎉🎉🎉🎉 I think Dr. Alexis is God's gift to humanity. I never tire of watching and sharing your videos. It's literally a holy Grail for me. Truly, you are phenomenal and I can't love you less. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love the videos, I hope you do a body series. I have such a hard time finding products for my body to help with hyperpigmentation from the occasional breakouts on my back, or ingrown hairs.
Hi Dr. Stephens! Would you recommend The Ordinary vit F in the same routine as the ascorbic + Arbutin ? I have been using TO vit F for my under eye area with such great results! So glad you posted about this ingredient!
I have a lot of hyperpigmentation on my body and not just my face. Can you review products that may target those issues? The skin on the body is obviously different than the skin on the face
Vitamin F change the game with helping me fight my hyperpigmentation. Started seeing a huge difference when I added it my routine! Thank you Dr. Stephens ❤
