I love this version of Ryan, he is the perfect balance between the more action hero side of the character, and the nerdy side. Just real fun to watch, and John kills it. Season 1 is still the best though.

And this is why this version of Jack Ryan is more dangerous than bad guys (and possibly more dangerous than the other versions of Jack Ryan's). Because he is Versatile. Not only the man has a PhD in economics and other scholarships but the man was also in the Marines as a Lieutenant. So yeah he is dangerous in more ways than one.

They are going for someone who is a little more intellectual almost nerdy than traditionally muscle bound action hero. That is why the casting fit. It is like in the casting of the X Files with the Agent Mulder character. Someone muscle bound ex Marine stereotype FBI type wouldn't fit the character. Ironically, the Jack Ryan is an ex Marine. He graduated from the United States Navy Academy with a degree in Economics. Yes, prior to joining the CIA, he was an investment consultant. Made so much money, he can retire for living. Yes, he is independently wealthy. So, the character is more like the gentleman British spy like James Bond. He doesn't need to be a spy, but does it because of his patriotism and thinks he can make a difference.

I feel like the first season built up the intensity so well, the season one finale was insanely good I was on the edge of my seat but the second season felt kind of rushed and medicorce for some reason Season two jack honestly was pretty dark compared to season 1 jack which was interesting and kind of weird too

Show is okay... on season one. Yea started this one late. I did alot of military time as well as law enforcement. And I'm just saying they could've consulted with some combat guys before completely botching multiple ops. Yea let's go get them in France and enter the building before having all exits windows and building secure and surrounded lol. Dude just jumped out the window bleeding and managed ro walk by thirteen cops. A little realism would be appreciated. You can have both realistic combat ops and compelling stories. They caught the group off guard and everything, ugh my service has ruined spy/combat/military movies. Fuck

Jack Ryan has the worst writing I’ve seen in a long time. The amount of corners cut and easy outs, insulting the audience with a ridiculous, incredibly unbelievable plot is reason enough to put this show at the bottom of every list it’s on. At every turn we’re just supposed to accept the nonsensical from characters who are meant to be extremely sensible. We’re supposed to accept the idiotic from the proposed highly intellectual professionals. I wonder how not a single person at the readings spoke up and said “this doesn’t make sense,” not only because there are egregious occurrences, but they are often, making it far worse.

Honestly i think the office jokes are a bit dis respectful to him as an actor taking on a new role. In moderation? Yes. But every comment making an office joke, is very distasteful
