I played for the Iowa Wild AAA U16 a couple years ago and played a decent amount of these teams, the best team that I played against was definitely Belle Tire
Boys a lot of these players played for multiple teams. Like fore example if you play in Michigan you move through the different programs. Or if you play in Texas you you either play for stars elite, Colorado tigers, or the tbirds. Some even move to Michigan to come play
Seth jones stepfather coached him while playing for Nashville Junior Predators and captain Canada Ryan Smyth's kid plays for the Nashville Junior Predators
@@Wild1038 you start saying by far and that’s my problem. Caesars, Honeybaked, Compuware, Belle Tire are all Detroit area franchises that in any given year can be equal to or better than Shattuck. Get real.
Fair point. Compuware Ambassadors were part of the OHL officially if I recall back in those days - although LIndros was so young (I think 15?) - and back then the blending of AAA youth and Juniors was a bit more common. Toronto Marlboros as an example was clearly youth - yet also somehow consider a junior feeder to the Maple Leafs.
@@CulturamaJoe Eric Lindros great player did not play AAA in US. Played for London Knights & Toronto Marlboros. Played for the Compuware Ambassadors Tier II Junior A Team for I believe 8 games. I believe he had a dispute with his OHL team and mom wanted him traded. That's what brought him to Compuware for a short time. Jim Rutherford was involved in bringing to Compuware. One player that could replace him would be Jimmy Carson. Brain Rolston is another option.
@@agrant4701 Lindros would have started AAA with London Knights and then Toronto Marlies. Jimmy Rutherford worked out a deal for him to play some games with Compurware Tier II Jr. A team in the NAHL Team, when he challenged OHL draft selection. Never played minor hockey for Compuware AAA.
@@Bob-ti9hz I know he is from London Ont., but there is no record of Kane’s old OHL team (Knights). The Soo, which he wouldn’t play for (and was traded to the Generals, who he won the Mem. Cup with). I wish I had my stupid copy of Fire on Ice still. Lol.
Noah Hanafin was on a Valley Junior Warriors team with Cam Atkinson and 4 other guys that were drafted. No mention of the warriors here. Jack Eichel played for the Boston Junior Eagles, yet Connor Sheary is the best player from their program? This list is suspect.
The meijer program has not even been around for more than ten years and teams dont just automatically become good it takes many years for an organization to become well know especially in the state of Michigan where most of the hockey talent is centered out of the Detroit area while meijer is out of Lansing but they have sent lots of players to the nahl and other junior leaguesp
