I got the Power A Pokemon case. I absolutely LOVE IT! BTW, that flap is used to fold over on the other side of the case to form a stand in case you want to use it in tabletop mode. It made my day to see that your talk recommendation was the power a case. It makes me glad that I got the right one
Quick note on the game traveler slim case: The slim case is not so tight that the zipper will scratch or damage your system if you just make sure to slide it in all the way. I keep my switch light in one of those clear jewel cases and it still manages to fit inside the slim case just fine.
I know you posted this video months ago, but thanks for the review. I went with the Power A and it only cost 11 Dollars on Amazon this far into the future. The Power A has a whole lot more colors available now and it was one that I was already considering. It still comes with the screen protector and the cleaning cloth so it was a pretty good deal.
Tomtoc Slim Switch Lite case is my fav. Grab a Tile/ or Tile Pro and insert it inside the game sleeve for in case of theft, you can track it. Learned from experience 😉
Wow I got the Power A for Christmas for my ceaseless switch lite I got from Black Friday and is very pleased and relieved to see it as one of the best switch cases. I love how compact it is and fulfills all my needs.
I ordered the Satisfye grip and grip case bundle the other day, looking forward to getting it. I got the grip for my og Switch and it was a lifesaver in allowing me to game for longer periods more comfortably.
I’d just like to point out that the Game Traveler Slim Case (9:12) actually has a little border between the Switch and the actual zipper that protects it from scratches. You’ll only do damage to the Switch if you push on the zipper as you pull it. Been using it for almost two months now and my Switch Lite still looks perfectly fine (also there is a little wrist strap that is tucked into the case which is a nice addition)
I recently got the Switch Lite Slip Case by Waterfield. It's a soft case that has a plush inner liner, a magnetic clasp to keep it sealed and has two small compartments for a game case, cable and wired ear buds, just enough to carry what you need without making the case too bulky. It's a bit pricier at $60, but I absolutely love it. It comes in a water resistant knitted fabric, ballistic nylon and and waxed canvas. I have the Cobalt color myself.
i found your channel after succumbing to getting a nintendo switch and its really refreshing to find a nintendo switch content creator thats entertaining and informative. thanks for all you do!
I ended up getting the RDS case. I wanted the most minimal case available and it fits in my pocket. I paired it with the hori duraflexi protector so it won't scratch.
After watching this, I am quite assured that the flip magnetic hard case I got from amazon japan, the one done by Nintendo themselves, is the gold standard against all these crap. Thanks Wulff Den for reviewing all of them.
Good comparison video. I bought the Hori case and have traveled with it multiple times and like it a lot. Slim and protective. Feels like quality material. Yellow interior is nice touch.
People on RU-vid buy the same stuff and same cases for the Nintendo Switch Lite Only a few and very short videos from smaller youtubers show the different stuff... and, unfortunately most are low quality and info Sad, really
Wolf Denn, I have to thank you for the amazing advice in this video, I have a standard switch not a lite so I don't really know why I'm here BUT I now use a thick pair of wool socks to transport my Switch while it's in my bag, which is only when I leave my house for a few days so it's the perfect free Switch Case lol
I have the links awakening soft case and have not had any issues of the buttons getting crushed or chunks ripped. I even have analog covers and the hori duraflex shell on...
You should go over the Orzly Nintendo Switch Lite Bundle. It comes with a case, 4-game capacity cartridge case, charger, lens wipe, 2 alcohol wipes, dust stickers, and a 2-pack of screen protectors. I have it and love it a LOT. It has a pesky cartridge flap, but i don’t mind. It protects the screen further.
Waterfield makes the City Slicker which has been my favorite case. And they made a light version for the new Switch. They have also came up with a few pouches as well if you're interested in those at all.
I’m surprised the TomToc slim case wasn’t mentioned in this review. It ended up being my go to case when I wanted something slim and minimal for throwing a switch lite in a bag
I’m watching this in preparation of getting the switch lite. I have been yearning to get on board with the whole acnh craze and it’s finally back in stock this quarantine. I’m looking for any suggestions if anybody can help me for some cool games and cases. May the fourth be with you!
Omg thank you for reviewing these:) I was looking into a few cuz I’m gonna be getting a switch lite after my bday in a week!! Soo excited but wanted a good enough case to protect it and my games:)
I plan on taking it to university with me and I'm afraid all the stuff in my backpack might damage the buttons so I guess I'll get one of the harder cases
I prefer my case to not look like it's even carrying a Switch in my case. Dont want to attract thiefs etc. So a small black non descript case is perfect for me. Though I end up putting my carrying case in my backpack anyway lol
The RDS cases have a wrist strap, or hand strap, inside the case that makes it have a tighter fit. Pull that out, or cut that out if you like, and your Switch Lite will fit with ease-no zipper problems.
I'm buying a Switch Lite for myself for my bday. I'd really like something that's tough and not specifically drop proof but pretty close. I'm very OCD and take excellent care of my stuff especially my electronics. still wanna be safe and feel at ease about my brand new expensive product.
I just use the cheap little Splatoon 2-themed case that came with my Switch bundle. Those 10-cart cases are awful tempting, though, as someone who likes physical copies.
Out of these, the Power A definitely wins for me. I like that it has a light blue side that almost looks like the turquoise of the turquoise switch lite and a yellow side that probably goes well with people who have yellow switch lites. I would have the blue side facing up as a turquoise switch owner. I also like that it includes a microfiber cloth and a screen protector so that you don't have to buy those separately. I was considering buying a new microfiber cloth anyway because I lost the one I used to use to clean my other devices. And that game flap appears to fit very nicely and not take up too much space. It's probably convenient to have a game flap in the case in case I do want to take a few physical games on the go without anything extra but I don't need one with a lot of slots since I already bought a separate case just for game cards that holds up to 24 game cards.
Hey Wulff DEN I have just started watching your videos and I love it. I’m a small channel with 15 subscribers and you inspire me to keep making videos. I’m not asking for views or subscribers I just wanted you to know your awesome
Any opinion on the official switch lite case that was only released in Japan? Around $40-$50 to import I believe. High cost, but reviews have been good for it.
At 6:42 you are using the PowerA Stealth Case flipped upside down. Going by the product pictures for the Pokemon Battle and Pokemon Graffiti versions, the flap is supposed to go on top of the Switch, meant to protect the joysticks. But this also means resting the Switch at angle, due to the missing shoulder bumps. Overall it feels a little disappointing and cheap, without the bumps. I would recommend going for the normal PowerA, if you can live with 1cm increased depth and that stupid carrying handle or just take the Hori, to get the bumps and no carrying handle.
the best minimalist case you can get for the Switch Lite is the Japanese Nintendo Flip Cover which is what I have on my Switch. but I also have a number of other minimal cases that I can use if I need to.
I wish the joycons were cheaper because if i get a switch lite i want a good controller a'd if i buy a pair if joycons it will be pointless since with 20 dollars more i can get the normal switch
"Pair of joycons" is not a good controller anywaw (unless you wanna play together with a friend) but your point is still valid. Switch Lite is not worth buying.
@@meduza93 i want for the joycons for the rumble and the motion controls and nobody plays with me most of the time and the portobility if the switch lite is really making me want it but not w1nt beacuse if its flaws
@@MarouaneTFyou'd only be missing out on rumble, the lite has motion controls, and the reglar switch is more portable than lugging a switch lite AND a set of Joy-Con around, i'd say just get a reglar one, it's just an inch bigger
That layer in hori case is not only for holding game cards but also for protecting the screen and make some height to protect the stick, you should not cut it.
at about $30 you can get this extra slim case from Amazon japan. Its only available in japan (unless you import it) but its REALLY nice looking and feeling. Its a bit pricey for all it does, but its my favorite travel "case" for the switch lite.
The Japan-exclusive clamshell case with button indentations needs to be released in the U.S., and then you'll have another one for this list. Looks to be the best imo, being minimal, while still offering all around protection especially for the screen, buttons and joysticks.
It's not like there's that many cases out there with this problem, but I find it weird how many cases there are that don't provide enough clearance that you can put the switch in the case, and it will be resting naturally, and the inside of the case isn't squishing against the joysticks. Some of them forgo this feature in order to provide a maximum slimness, but come on, joystick drift has been enough of a problem that you think people would be concerned about something wearing out their joysticks prematurely when they're not even using it. Taking this into account, I'm curious why Nintendo didn't put in the type of joysticks, or rather Joy discs that you find in something like the 3DS or the PSP for maximum slimness. It's supposed to be a portable system, conventional joysticks aren't the most portable option they could have gone with and it doesn't have removable and replaceable joy-cons, so it's not like it needs to be consistent with everything else. As long as it provides the same input and user experience as a normal joystick.
I feel like the EvoRetro starter case kit is better! (you get a case, Type-c Charger Cable, Screen Protector, Protective Case, Thumb Grips, A stand & surprisingly a stylus/pen).
In the end, I settled on the HeysTop Switch Lite Travel Case because it has everything I needed and the price was great. I'm really glad I made the right choice because I love it! I'm leaving my own review so hopefully other people can make an informed purchase. :)
I have a blue starry night switch lite fintie case from amazon, it wasn't too much money. It's a bit snug on the screen, but it holds 14 games and 2 micro sd cards and it has a slim pocket. It barely holds my earbuds though. Edit: It also has a nice grip handle
I got a case for my switch lite called the Ivolver. Not bad at all the only nitpick I have is that the inside takes in lint so much. Comes with two glass screen protectors
I can understand not wanting bulk, but the game card sleeve also acts as a protector of your screen from things you put in the top pocket..............
Game card sleeve is meant make enough space for joycons that way your case won't mess with your joycon and when in pressure pressure will spread even across the screen making damage minimium to none yet if you remove it chances of damaging joysticks are higher cuz your joysticks are in constant contatct with outer case always moving, always in danger of getting pressed too hard
And about that powera case, flap is there so you can put your switch in angled position, if you noticed open area in the one side that meant for air intake so you fold that flap into triangle like shape and put your switch lite on it connect your wireless controller...yeahh its there for reason all of them(i hope, but in case of switch lite lpowera case doesnt make that much of a sense tho)
Orzly Bundle is great. Good case. Headphones. Stylus. Cartridge case. Microfiber cloth. 2 Glass screen protectors. And the grips which are extremely nice. Not as good as a satisfye (imo) but much better than having no case.
