Here I am showing you what I started my Non CDL car hauling with and it did worked very well for me | Best setup for New NON-CDL HOTSHOT Car Hauling @jimpway #carhauling #Hotshot #NONCDL #dot
Did you just hop on the load board to find loads and started or did you have to find a company to go under and have experience for six months or did you buy your own authority? Just wondering how I can get my truck, llc, registrations, and start hauling
Your big mistake is having a (1) One ton truck !!! Where as you only need a 3/4 ton Diesel truck !! Which a Dodge Ram (1) ton = 3500 and a Dodge Ram (3/4) ton = 2500 both have the same diesel Cummins engine and can pull with the same power . The difference is the truck's GVWR or GVW . Resurch this and you will find out you can haul a fair amount more weight on your trailer and still be good without a CDL !!! Just put a pair of air bags on the truck's rear axle and that will save you money in the (2) Two different size truck's and allow you to haul a fair amount more of weight !!
The 2500 has a lower gross combined weight rating than a 1 ton plus the 1 ton has stiffer suspension, bigger brakes and running gears. Maybe do your own research into what you're taking about before trying to correct someone actually doing the work 😂
@@brandons2411 I'm retired . I started well before your time . First I was a mechanic then did trucking , then hotshots . I still do all my own work on truck's , semi's and heavy equipment . Everyone is entitled to their own opinion . But I grew-up with grease under my nails first . When you can tear down & rebuild a diesel engine and everything else , then come talk to me . Otherwise you're just blowing smoke .
with the older truck with 12K GVWR you could get a 3 car wedge and have it de rated to 14K GVWR. Then you could tow 3 cars as long as they are lighter cars, or still do 2 heavier cars or suv's. But you also have to keep a close eye on the axle weights, DOT can get you there too. I imagine towing 3 cars would be tricky to keep all the axle weights legal. So maybe 2 cars is where it's at for non cdl.
Thanks for the comment…….Yea it’s true that you can make more money with the wedge, but the best way to stay compliant as a new non CDL is to start with a two car hauler.
So $500 to get registered with the state for the LLC, the FMCSA registration, and insurance, tag registration for both truck and trailer. I did bought the truck used for $10k, plus the used trailer for $4k. All together was close to $20K. But you can start with less than that by leasing, but you will carry a higher monthly expense.
So to cross the scale at a weigh station you would have to be below the 26,000 pounds. However if you gets pulled in for an inspection They are going to look at some specifics, like the GVW of the trailer and your truck GVW combine, which not exceeds the 26,000. The truck in this video is 12,000 GVW and I uses a 14,000 trailer so I will have to minus the curb weight of the trailer which for mine is 4,995 so that will leave me with 9,005 pounds that I am legal to carry. Most of the 2010 and newer trucks are 14,000 GVW, so to stay under 26,000 you would have to de-rate your trailer to 12,000 pounds. Let’s hope that gives a little understanding of how it works. Thanks for your question
On this setup for liability and cargo I was paying close to $700. Per month, but a lot of things have to take into consideration for how much you will pay for insurance…like where you live, how far you will be driving to from your home state, your driving record…and obviously what you will be pulling.
Unless your gross vehicle weight and gross trailer weight exceeds a combination weight of the 26000 LBS. what is gross weight of your truck and the gross weight of Your trailer?
It can pull it, but won’t last because the engine and transmission was not build for that kind of towing. The Ram 2500 Diesel 6.7L can handle the 2 cars trailer…..but my recommendation would be for the 3500 Diesel 6.7L
I think one of the way that contributes to the kind of mess we are seeing is in the rates….mainly when a trucker/hotshoter is heading homeward or heading another pickup location, they accepted loads for some unbelievable low rates and brokers are refusing to pay more because of that behavior…..need to stop
