So according to Bing, if you have a gsync display, you should turn vsync off in games but you should instead have it turned on in the control panel.

I'm using an HP Omen Laptop GTX1060 and one of the more beneficial settings for me was turning Imaging Scaling on. I play an older game but it also gave me many more windowed resolutions options to choose from within the game.

that's what i thought as well, many cs go and valorant pros use display full screen scaling instead of gpu to scale for that reason. many of the pros settings i've seen have used display to cut the input delay.

@codelife the texture thing giving you more performance with the performance setting compared to high performance is mostly due to cpu bottlenecking, it makes a big difference to turn that setting to quality on cpu bound systems like mine, with a 5900x that bottleknecks my rtx 4080

@@WexAim performance is what worked best with my 5900x and 3080ti so I'd assume a 12900 and a 3080 would he a similar combo, for fortnite you really want to make sure the gpu is loaded cause its easy on low settings to be cpu bound, which will cause hella stutters and input delay

@@WexAim performance mode isn't ideal on high end systems because it doesn't support multi threaded rendering and it basically runs off the cpu rather than the graphics card which is far more powerfull. So with performance mode you might get better fps 80 percent of the time, in intense areas like endgame it would be more unstable because the game is running off the cpu, thats why for me I always tried to balance things out with dx12, medium or high shadows, low textures, medium effects, and high post proccesing, and then dlss on either balance or quality, because going lower would make for a cpu bottlekneck. Its hard cause the game runs like crap compared to chapter 3 but for a system with a 3080 and a 12900 you should be able to get solid performance in dx12, especially benefitting from the shader cache because performance mode runs off the same dx11 api that is horribly optimized and has years of garbage code and compatibility design in it that bogs it down a lot, compared to 12 which allows for direct connection from game to hardware

@@WexAim I would suggest running DDU, installing 496.13 or an early 512 driver, set up your nvidia control panel, and out fortnite on dx12, let it run for a while. It will stutter at first while it builds a shader cache but then after like a few games once you've been around the whole map you'll be fine, and just see what fps you get with dx12

4090 with an i9 13900k CPU. DO NOT GET THIS COMBINATION since it has caused nothing but problems for me with anything made inside of Unreal Engine 5 (most games coming out). Ran great for about 3 months, and still does fine on Unreal Engine 4 games, then started seeing problems. Had to underclock the CPU cores in the BIOS to gain stability, and I'm still facing random frame stutters in anything made in UE5. Intel and Nvidia have acknowledged the issue, but neither has provided a fix only the suggestion I've done above. I didn't try to get a swap/replacement sent as it is a problem with the "auto" settings and Intel's AI Tweaker when it interacts with the 4090 so a new one wouldn't fix it and it would begin after about 3-4 months.

A guy did a comparison recently of using these settings, with numbers, and he found virtually no difference in any tweaks of these driver settings, and he referenced all the channels claiming to boost performance by 100FPS or some silly number like that. In other words, tweaking these settings make no measurable difference outside of error.

please read my comment it may help you in the long run. I have a 2080 super and the latest update for the Nvidia driver is for Redfall. I actually highly highly not recommend updating your drivers there was a time where that was true where you should but I had to uninstall the latest update from the video because it kept making my flight simulator crash if in fact your system is good don't change it times have drastically changed they used to beta test these things and now we are the beta testers flight simulator 2020 was running perfect until the last update and they rely on us to give the feedback that really should have been tested before they pushed it out in the first place just honestly use your own discretion if it's working don't fix it

Had to increase more Ram and overclocked from 4.0ghz to 4.4 ghz and set everything to highest on GTX 960 GPU on GLOBAL SETTINGS and my resolution increased 40%. Im using old cpu FX 8350 and my resolution now is true UHD or low 4k which is way better before I set things from Ram from 16gb to now 24gb total. Im using Vengeance Ram which is high quality for upgrading, a bit expensive but worth it.

@@ORLTEXGODLY Believe you have to go down on the second list of resolution in the box and tab on the mhz box to display the options. It's also the video card you using but not sure. I do know the higher mhz of monitor is there under the lower tier of resolution sizes.

This is wrong. If you have VRR or GSync compatible monitor, which is almost everyone today, you should it set as follows: Low latency should be on Ultra GSync on Frame rate should be *capped to 1-2 fps less than your monitor's refresh rate* so if you have 144hz monitor, it should be 142fps.. If you have 240hz monitor, it should be 238fps, etc. VSync on Triple buffering on In Windows power settings it should be set to Ultimate performance, you can google how to do it in cmd.exe.

with knowing the low, mid and high tier changes since the early 2000: low is everything under gtx 950 optimized or gtx 1050 with stuff like 2-3 overlays on like geforce or discord / borderless fullscreen. mid is everything to rtx 2080, comparing to the 30 and 40 depends on which 3070 and 3060, but in the past this way they were compared. and everything above is hig tier obviously. fucked up systems again on mid tier would need something like a 2090 as you really drop often under 90 fps which shouldnt even be your 0,001% low on such a 2000 series. if you got a hieg tier better dont have a messed up system, as you might be able to get decent fps but with a frame time of idk 8-40 ms. thats the stuff from someone "light tweaking" for friends. nothign that fucks up systems or hinders stuff like playing sea of thieves. but i could see some stuff like 4k euros setups with 390 hz screen set on non native black bar gpu scaling and aspect ratio. paired with144 hz from the older screen in windows and geforce ,discord, game bar and for using controller steam driver the steam overlay.
