My videos are still stuttering, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I tried all of the different presets you showed. Do you have any other video showcasing some other presets, or some sort of advice? Thank you in advance, and thank you for the video! :D

Hello can I ask? on my obs studio, when i go to the "encoder settings" It doesn't show up the settings: Preset, Tuning, Multipass mode, [Look Ahead - Psycho Visual Tuning] and GPU. My version is already 30.02. I hope you can read this comment so that you can help me. :D
I just downloaded obs and watched some tutorials on how to use it and after recording a bit, my quality was bad and I was looking even more tutorials on how to use obs. I didn't come here to fix the lag, but I am so happy I found this video, it's very informative and everything is to the point.
So when i record a video in Roblox bedwars (with xbox bar) the video gets blurry so if i record with obs and with these settings will it help to get better quality and not blurry? pls anyone respond!!
Thank you soooooooo much this actually worked!!! My rocket league gameplay has been such low quality and you sorted it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Will this work on my stream too or do I need to mess with more setting for that? Many thanks x
CQ at 15 is ridiculous. The file sizes are enormous and there is no gain over 16, 18-20 is also quite acceptable, quality wise. Same with running CBR at 25000, 15000 is more than youtube allows for 1080p60.
my recordings for reactions be laggy at least when i try to record full screen on youtube videos any tips to fix this because it diddnt use to be a problem at all
Hello Mr Michael, My name is AY I am from Nigeria. I have been trying to connect my OBS to VideoPsalm to display lyrics..My OBS version is 30.2.3 & Videopsalm version is 1.27beta. What do I need to do Mr Micheal to Integrate my Videopsalm Lyrics into my OBS
Maybe I'll instal OBS again bcs I got this version 1 year ago but I uninstaled it bcs it won't record screen Now I know how to do it, so I hope it will work
Why should you check the box to automatically remuz to mp4? Then you have a mkv version & a mp4 version. Do I just use the mp4 version & why? Is it better to use that?
If u use ure Output Videofile later on a Video-Editor and cut or trim that Video-Recording to upload on youtube. The most Video-Editor Software on this planet handle mkv files not very well. if u put a mkv file in a video-editor, it lags to load on the position you will cut or trim. you cant move the curser fluid on that position you want (mkv). The Elgato Games Capture Software doing it too. The Elgato Software has also a shadow recording in background in .ts or .mkv and if you stop recording, that software delete the shadow recording and you get the mp4 output.
Did everything suggested but for some reason it still lags when recording COD gameplay, even though I get avg 120fps and record at 60fps. Looks like 30fps and delayed sound. Only happens on COD and not other games for some reason
Channels like these need a lot of subscribers and likes because they really deserve it, I've seen 20 videos before this one saying *ok lets cut to the chase or im not gonna waste your time* and then proceed to talk for 20 minutes and my recording still ends up looking like garbage
Just wanted to come back and say thank you for this! An update changed my settings to factory again and these are perfect! Looks great and practically no frame loss. (My laptop is lower end)
i want to record gameplay videos for youtube and upload them to be in 1080p60. Right now i record with x264 video encoder, 14000 bitrate and base canvas of 1400 × 900 with no output downscale. After recording i upload the video to youtube but it is only uploaded in 720 sd. Unless i use cap cut to import and export at 1080p60 i cant upload the recording in hd straight out of obs. I am getting a gpu soon so i can use something other then the x264 setting on obs. If some one can suggest a solution thank you ahead of time and sorry for posting on here. i asked in youtube comments for help but no replies.
Can you Please help My game doesn't lag but My video still does Here are my computer specs Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz 1.20 GHz 4.00 GB (3.70 GB usable) 546131B9-F634-4C19-9CD7-1B5B4C85B279 00356-02116-20991-AAOEM 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
thank you for this great video, was very helpful for sure. I want to record a reaction video, I am finding lag when doing the recording, it is so frustrating. I have made all the changes that chatGPT suggest, my settings seem to be ok. i have unplugged and repluged the cam link etc. etc. i am using a mac mini m2 with 8 gigs of ram. I do not know what to next to improve the video quality? feel frustrated etc etc. i am also getting lag on zoom, not so much when i record with quick time player, but still there is a little lag still, i have turned off every other program so that only obs is playing. do i need a new camlink? aghhhh if you could help that would be great.
I wondered about the bitrate recording vs using CRF (constant rate factor).... when editing video handbrake recommends encoding using CRF and not bitrate... so when I saw the bitrate I wondered if I should change that... Usually if you're ripping a DVD and have the raw file that you want to compress, deinterlace, etc.... if it's 480p the defaul is 20 CRF... but I usually bump it to 17... but when it comes to using OBS... I'm such a noob. I've successfully recorded a few things (not game play) just recording video.. so I used 30 FPS....using a capture card... and I still noticed on some recordings a slight stutter during panning scenes... like if the camera slowly zooms in or out or moves slowly side to side...you will see a slight jerk (not horrible)...I can re-encode the recorded video and choose a setting to drop duplicate frames... that helps a lot but I still see it on occasion
Someone please help. So when I record in OBS everything looks smooth as ever on the OBS miniscreen that they provide to show what your recording. But, when I open the video through the windows default app "Videos" it ends up looking choppy and low quality, anyone know a fix?
I just followed your steps and see that there are many differences between your version and mine. Specifically I cannot remux mkv to mp4. I will be making a 15 minute video, is it advisable to use mp4 ?
Question, when you render this in a software like capcut, that only have bitrate, what is CQ lvl 15 equivalent to in bitrate? Because you wanna render at the same amount or close to atleast...
I have tryed recording CQP 20 wich is the deafault and should be okay quality but when i finished recording for about 1hour and 50 minutes i came to find that my file size was 38,6 gigabytes. Is the file size meant to be that big ?
Well, for added insanity I got 486 MB in 3 minutes, 2 of which were me starting Minecraft. While CQP works like VBR, it has a very high bitrate limit so my bitrate shot all the way up to 60 Mbps (7.5 MB/s) and I probably don't need to tell anyone, but I don't have anywhere near enough storage to tolerate 450 MB/min recording. With my normal settings I get 8 GB after ~2 hours at 10,000 Kbps CBR (1.25 MB/s), and the quality is great. I record at 1080p@60 fps with NVENC. Only go higher if you have enough storage, or you don't have issues with clearing your drive once in a while..
