I respect you all very much. I used to depend on my own efforts too, to check myself all the time, to make sure i was controlling all my responses, but praise the Lord, there is a better way. I learned from Al-Anon about detaching, and someone who teaches about self-differentiation, which the Lord led me too, because i had a lot of baggage from alcoholic parents, and other dysfunction. Jesus said, “i am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”, and He can teach you discernment so that by examining of your resentments, and heartaches, and traumas which began in childhood, and giving them the attention they deserve, (which is very difficult for most Christians to accept, because of pride) with Jesus help, with his biblical guidance He has set me free. I used to see this battle one dimensionally too. But if you will let Him lead you, He will, right out of your blindness, to freedom from the oppression that old fears control you with. And you will not be plagued with unnecessary guilt and shame from attacks you didn’t see coming. I do know and understand where you are coming from, but again, the Lord has shown me the way of grace.❤😊
