51:02 the fact that they used the music from “They’re taking the hobbits to Isengard” which was on the internet like 20 years ago, really brings me back lol
I hope Nux makes a video on Heavenly Delusion. It's an amazingly crafted show. Every episode answers a question, but asks 3 more. The animation is movie-quality a good amount of the time. The sound track is fantastic(Look up "Departure," and "My Heart," and ESPECIALLY "Blue, Blue Sky.") Mimihime is top 10 most wholesome adorable anime characters. More people need to check it out.
Heavenly Delusion was one of my few “Watch On Day Of Release” shows. The vibe was EXTREMELY weird, and the tone-shifts were initially jarring, but the underlying mystery kept me hooked. Looking forward to a second season.
Trigun Stampede _is_ great, but you have to go into it with the mindset that it's not a retelling of the original. You should treat it like it's own thing in order to get everything out of it.
@@susbedo9258 Not at all. It's also not a Brotherhood situation where they re-adapted the manga more faithfully. It's pretty much it's own story. It's kind of like Pluto now that I'm thinking about it, a retelling of a classic.
@@susbedo9258 kinda but no. It's supposed to be a more canonically accurate to the manga show, but they rearranged the timeline of some things because of people knowing the whole storyline of the original, and needing to flesh out thematic decisions that would carry on to explain things as they develop.
Main male character of "Undead Unluck" is just Nux: Completely unkillable/uncancellable, appears frivolous and goofy, but is secretly filled with crushing depression.
Frieren being my favorite. Im not even mad that it got second. Im glad people are praising it. It deserves it. Even if it is side quest the anime. Its awesome
The way you gush about Frieren is exactly how I gush about it to everyone that will listen. It really the best pure fantasy show we;ve gotten in forever
I got in frieren when it was around 20-25 chapter in and it makes me so fucking happy that it is getting the love it deserves, It is probably in top 5 manga i have read so far
I gushed about it to my friends for like 2 months straight (we chill at a cafe every week) and I guess one of them watched it for the sake of shutting me up. One day he just texted me saying, "Dude. Do you own any Frieren manga? Or know where I can read it? This shit is gooooood"
@@mirai7233 Yeah. a friend of mine typically waits til somethings finished and binges it. but I got him to watch it 'til the op changes' for the first half. He just recently finished that, and said 'I watched up to current. You werent kidding. Frieren really is as good as you said.' 'Yes. Yes it is.'
Pluto is an absolute masterpiece but even that trumps Infront of the masterpiece that is 20th century boys. It is one of the most engaging and addictive stories i have ever witnessed. Naoki urusawa is truly a master of his craft. This story made him my top 3 manga artists of all time instantly and i hadn't even seen monster back then.
Dude... I dropped down to be like "The DS fish were okay!", went "Nah, I'll wait." scrolled back up and hit play. Saw what looked like a 2003 wants its FFXI ram back reference, then came down here again to go "WTF was that?!" 🤣🤣🤣
Vinland Saga in 3rd place is WILD Nux, but hey. Everybody's got their own tastes. Also completely disagree about S2 needing to be shorter. Episodes like 9 and later ones in the season wouldn't hit as hard.
I'm really glad Garnt put Trigun Stampede on there it was fantastic to me, and studio orange are the best when it comes to CGI, too. Also, Frieren's adaption couldn't have asked for better from Madhouse but so happy Vinland Saga S2 got that spotlight cause it was undoubtedly my AOTY in 2023.
Rentarou in the most recent chapter threatened a god of infinity and made him fear and kneel before him, and escaped his infinity effect. just because the god made one of his girlfriends cry.
I have to place "Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts" as #1, because the King is a big regal fluffy lion monster, and I'm EXCEEDINGLY biased in favor of lions. After that, "Sousou No Frieren", "Apothecary Diaries", "Jujutsu Kaisen"... and "Undead Unluck"... which has some of the most unique power scaling I've seen in years, and "Mashle", which is the most hilarious and brilliant farce of Harry Potter ever. And there was also "The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today", a very chill anime about a mysteriously huge cat who has to constantly prevent his hopeless owner from starving/drinking to death from self-neglect.
Undeat Unluck is one of the best stories about not giving up and fighting through tragedy I've ever read. Hits similar notes to Vinland Saga but less about personal redemption and forgiveness and more about how you shape and determine what trauma does to you. And the power scaling and abilties are crazy hype, too. (I say this as a manga reader only, but still).
Nux saying he has ADD explains a lot even if he was joking. So most of the shows he hates that most love is usually because he doesn't feel like he has time for it and starts fidgeting at 2 times speed till he just drops it
It may not be up there with the rest that came out in 2023, but Bungo stray dogs new seasons should have at least been mentioned for how good they were. Especially season 5
Trigun Stampede was something that I had strong mixed feelings over. Let me just say that if you start and don't finish it because you loved the original, you'll hate it. If you finish it and have read the manga, you'll appreciate it. They kinda mixed up the timeline, but treat Stampede like a prequel to the 1997 anime.
I dont remember where i heard it but someome said anime are all amazing short stories and or small novels. Whereas vinland saga is a whole series of novels expertly written and executed
As someone looking at the Trigun thing in a 10 second clip with no history, the new one looks prettier. But the real question would be, which version has the best writing / story / pacing / characterization. Because that's the true deal maker or breaker for me.
55:30 My dad would just throw M80s over our heads when we were on a walk, looking into lakes and laugh when we fell over from the explosions... AND NOW YOU KNOW MY HORRIFYING BACKSTORY THAT TURNED ME INTO A TYRANNICAL MONSTER!! #GodEmperorAlondro2032
Gigguk does watch a ton of anime but, honestly Nux fell off, he used to watch a lot more anime. Pluto and Heavenly Delusion would've been anime that old Nux Taku would've seen as they aired. Old Nux would've already made analysis videos on both series by now.
Facebook is specifically awful bc it listens to everything I say and knows I love jjk bc me and my buddy talk ab it a ton. Facebook will feed me fan page after fan page of stupid jjk memes sprinkled in with wildy big spoilers that just ruin my whole mood 😂.
14:25 the fact that you're not off the point because these two got symbolically married in the manga, HA. They got something going on between them, no question. The manga is fruity as hell. Also W to Vinland saga 🔥🔥
Fun fact that 3 wish controversy in Genshin about the Chinese new year banner turned out to be the highest ever sales in Genshin china, they're boycott did nothing. The Chinese folded 😂😂😂😂
Imo, even tho I haven't finished watching it, Trigun is the best CG anime ever made. It had a Disney/Pixar feel to it, especially in the facial expressions. I expected it to be awful, but I was so far beyond wrong. I do still have a soft spot for the original, tho. That might be my rose colored glasses of nostalgia, tho.
So you know who TheQuartering is... Interesting. I keep hearing you drop names of other people I watch, like Ben Shapiro or Tim Pool. I dunno if you watch them or just know of them, but it's interesting seeing these people be mentioned when talking about anime, cartoons, etc.
