One of the many things I respect about Bernie is how he kept it REAL and clearly had a heart of compassion. His t.v. show was incredibly funny but also dealt with real family problems, and real scenerios involving kids. I love how he promoted the strength of family. The way he discussed problems family face when dealing with a family member who struggles with drug addiction, truly encouraged me. I'm sure many other people have been touched in the same way. I have two loved ones who haven't been responsible parents due to drug addiction, and the rest of us have had to deal with the heartache and children involved. His show was very relative to modern families. I only wish I could have experienced one of his live performancances . I'm confident Bernie is spreading joy in heaven today. He was a unquestionably special man. He left a legacy of laughter, honesty and kindness.

The day Bernie Mac died, my daughter and I had the flue. She was laying in bed with me. She had just woken up and we fell asleep with the news on. She said that I was in a deep sleep and they announced Bernie Mac’s death. I sat straight up out of a deep sleep and screamed noooo and started sobbing. I felt like I lost a close family member. Celebrities death do not usually impact me that way. I miss Bernie..I wish he was still around. He will always be one of my favorite comedians.
