Bluebell Railway in Sussex has a variety of Steam locomotives. Many were active in the ten years between 2007 and 2017.
Here is Part 1 of the feast of steam - (part 2 • Best of Bluebell Steam... )
Class A1X 0-6-0T No. 55 'Stepney' built in 1875, leads A1 0-6-0T No. 72 'Fenchurch' of 1872, ahead of 'Dukedog' 4-4-0 No. 9017 'Earl of Berkeley' built in 1938.
The trio head a noisy procession: which also contains C class 0-6-0 No. 592, E4 Class 0-6-2T No. 33473, U class 2-6-0 No. 1638, Rebuilt West Country Class 4-6-2 No. 34028 'Eddystone' ( a visiting locomotive) and West Country class 4-6-2 No. 21C123 'Blackmoor Vale'
Individual locomotives include: -
4-6-2 21C123 Blackmoor Vale, built in 1946, running forward before backing onto its train leaving Horsted Keynes northwards as visiting 0-6-0ST 'Sir Berkeley' Shunts.
U class 2-6-0 1638, built in 193, climbs towards Horsted and leaves northwards with vintage stock including the 'Mets'. The former Metropolitan Railway coaches, descends towards Sheffield Park and climbs towards Horsted Place Farm Bridge.
E4 0-6-2T No. 473, built 1898, in Southern Railway livery runs into Horsted, climbs up towards Horsted Place in springtime and is seen climbing out of Horsted Keynes station, I think, with an all Groome footplate crew and running back under Horsted Place farm bridge and finally in British Railway lined black with C class No. 592
C Class 0-6-0 No. 592 built in 1902, Climbs out of Horsted with No. 32473, departs by itself, romps along with an empty stock train for Horsted Keynes - East Grinstead Xmas traffic and doing what it was designed for - pulling a short goods train
Q class 0-6-0 No. 30541, built in 1939 and newly outshopped from the works, acts as works shunter moving C class 0-6-0 No 592 with its shiny new boiler stays glinting. 73082 Camelot is seen partially complete with its newly refurbished boiler. 30541c limbs up under Three Arch Bridge, climbs up past Black Hut, blasts under Leamland Bridge with a loose coupled goods train and coasts, tender first, back under Horsted Place Farm bridge.
O1 class 0-6-0 of 1896, climbs up out of Horsted Keynes station on a very wet afternoon with a train of vintage stock and moves south with the Queen Mary brake van,
H class 0-4-4T of 1906, hammers up under Three Arch Bridge with an afternoon train for East Grinstead. Followed by two shots at the same location but from the other side of the line, firstly hauling with a 'Birdcage' brake coach leading.
S15 4-6-0 No. 847, built 1936, looms out of the fog with a goods train, eases up Freshfield bank on a sunny windy day and hammers up under Horsted Place Farm Bridge.
Just a short glimpse of P Class 0-6-0T No. 178 from 1910, leaving Horsted Keynes, piloting C Class 592 Followed by : -
P Class 0-6-0T No 323 'Bluebell' also from 1910, running in front of U class No. 31638 now in BR Black and 'Dukedog' 9017 also in BR black livery at Sheffield Park. 323 climbs towards Horsted Keynes with a friendly wave from Clive Groome and canters up under Horsted Place Farm Bridge with an 'Autumn Tints' Special.
0--4-0T 'Captain Baxter' , built in 1877, at Horsted Keynes and rattling up towards the top of Freshfield bank with a short goods.
A1 class 0-6-0T No. 55 Stepney, 1875, with a brake van special, & posing as DS377 'Brighton Works' .
80151 2-6-4T built in 1957, passes bunker first at Horsted Place Crossing, on the Belle and coasting back with the Metropolitan set and a milk tanker.
Standard class 5 MT 4-6-0 No. 73082 of 1955, climbs Freshfield Bank and restarting from Horsted with its Camelot name in place and as it ran before being named. Finally rushing out of Sharpthorne Tunnel on a Driver training run.
Rebuilt Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 34059, from 1947, is seen arriving and leaving Horsted Keynes. It is seen again briefly in part two of Bluebell Locomotives
Part two deals with the visiting locomotives during the same period:
All filmed on a Canon XHA1, initially with the internal microphone, latterly with a Rode stereo 'broadcast quality) external microphone.
Part 2 is here : • Best of Bluebell Steam...

"Floreat Vapour" May Steam Flourish! Birch Grove is my favorite. It’d be even lovelier to see her steam in Marsh Umber!

Thank you for your kind comment. All my content is up on RU-vid but as far as I can see there isn't any more of Blackmore Vale. I hadn't realised just how long it has been out of steam. You might like ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YEZLuXm4xB0.html though.

All much enjoyed, thanks Nick, especially the Q in the autumn colours around 13:30 and the S15 in the mist (at a favourite location). The opening sequences reminded me of the Cavalcade of Steam in the ?1980s - I have a lot of 35mm slides from that time but have struggled greatly to convert them to digital media - if you have the technology and would like to collaborate, do please let me know. Kind regards, Bob.

Bob, thank you for your comments. I like the shot of the Q too, did you note the skill of the engineman - shut off a little just as the wheels were about to slip. Out of shot further down the line I had heard a slight slip at an earlier point. Coincidently the S15 had a bit of a slip just after I had stopped recording on that very damp autumn morning. Happy to collaborate but sadly I do not have the technology to convert slides to digital media. Nick.
