Amazing. Student of both Hindustani and Carnatic music, with exposure to western music, I couldn’t imagine this production. But, this can be seen in Bollywood music too. When Indian musical elements don’t match western concept of harmony, chords can be seen to be missing only to catch up where they agree.
Love this. I’m an American yoga teacher who appreciates the fusion of East meets West. I learned Carnatic vocal for a short time. I’ll be playing these tracks in class.
I notice in South Indian classical music there is a tendency to use the violin which like the harmonium are non Indian western musical instruments. The use of these 2 western instruments itself is fusion.
