As an adult I realize cheese is an interpretation of someone with learning disabilities, I feel like this show, subtly taught us to be understanding and loving to those who are different, cause even as a kid as annoying as cheese was I could feel the weird love of his innocence
That might be giving this show a little too much credit. I don't think he was meant to represent a person with a learning disability, I think it was just meant to make fun of that one "weird" kid we all knew who looked a certain way, talked a certain way and, by all accounts, smelled a certain way.
My mother never understood or appreciated the cartoons I watched when I was younger but for some odd reason, she remembered and loved this character a lot. She always make references to the “Hot rod flames and bunnies” part.
The best thing about Cheese is the creators KNEW he was annoying so they used him sparingly JUST ENOUGH to get on your nerves and STOP right before you’re breaking point! Except it doesn’t really work in a comp!
I still hate him, just a lot less. I think because as we grow up we don’t *hava* to forcefully be around mentally handicapped people. So we can enjoy their company, without it becoming too much.
@handle830 Cartoon Network has become this cesspool of goofy and otherwise lazy animated creativity. If they do reboot this show it better be just like how it started. I'm tired of them rebooting stuff just to fit this goofy nonsense trend that they've been riding to hell and back.
@@okjeffy6581YT removed my other reply but yeah he looks like those Jakovasaur dudes from south park season 3 lol they are literally the same person and you cannot change my mind 👊
Could be right. And I’m a high school student with high functioning autism spectrum. And I think I can “relate”? Or maybe I acted like cheese when I was very younger.
That's actually part of what makes Cheese work, in my opinion. Unlike other shows with annoying characters who are just tolerated by the other characters, Cheese is actually treated like the nuisance he is. In a weird way, I find that makes him more likable because the audience's annoyance is validated.
I say this as a person with autism and I’ve always thought this…but I swear to god that this cheese was made by someone who wanted a character who personified what autism, ADHD, and OCC looks like to every normal person. And possibly a tad bit of Tourette’s.😂
I know you loved Cheese and I hope you're at peace. My ex-girlfriend killed herself last week and this was her favorite character. She'd go CHEEEE and smile from ear to ear. I miss you so much Sarah
Anyone remember playing the game on Cartoon Networks website, where you click to make cheese say wee and when you let go he starts screaming, and idk why that clip brought back so many memories from that time
The funniest for me was when Mr Herriman told Cheese he doesn't live there at Foster's and to go home that really cracked me up because Mr Herriman is my all time favorite Character on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends to always watch and think about this show to always puts me in such a good mood of all time.🤣🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅😅😄😄😄😄😊😊😊😊
I always found the 'cheese go home' episode depressing. I'm just enough on the spectrum to understand why cheese just kept going to other residents and sounding more and more confused about being told to go home. My parents didn't even catch that side of things when they were watching it with me until I pointed it out. On a more positive note: Cheese's 'song' for the security system is actually not an uncommon way for people to remember codes, and why many of those keypads these days DON'T use different tones for different keys anymore.
Buttercup: HOT ROD FLAMES!!! Bubbles: BUNNIES!!! Blossom: ENOUGH!!! Buttercup: I can't believe we're related. Blossom: Shut up, at least the bunnies are on fire.
