05:37 is the funniest. One thing live learnt from watching a lot of these is that you need to be slow if there's anything unusual going on, particularly at junctions and if there's multiple lanes.
@@joaquinjr2570 You don't have alot of safety tech for cars in america because you have an organization stuck in the 1970s. It took them ages to say "You can have non round sealed beam headlights"
Unlike conventional bulbs, LEDs are switched on and off very quickly (too quickly for the human eye to see), they don't actually stay on continuously. What you see there is the dash camera shutter speed phasing in and out of the LEDs pulse, and since by the looks of it they all had similar LED pulse speeds they appeared to 'flash' synchronously.
@@HarmonicaMustang Nope, they are all German vehicles (in this case at least) fitted with a system that under heavy braking flashes the brake lights to alert other drivers. If you are gonna be a smart arse at least know what you are talking about. Most if not all modern European vehicles have this fitted as standard.
10:10 When a car is spinning out of control, honking is not effective. You're far better off to take that hand off the horn, place it on the steering wheel and attempt to avoid the oncoming out of control car.
Actually incorrect. Assess your situation, but first you brake and come to a stop. Unless you are certain your avoidance would not affect anyone else and cause a further incident, in which case you can try to avoid a collision.
Regardless, at all points on a roundaboout you must give way to the right. The dashcammer will be found at fault by any half decent insurance company for that reason.
@@adz124ps eh? Surely not? The guy is in the correct lane for entry into that slip road. The lady was next to him all along for the lane to go straight yet turns left without checking her mirrors. Noone was speeding. She's just a prick
adz124ps give way to your right doesn’t mean that you let someone in the lane next to you off like that. It means give way to vehicles approaching from your right as you approach the roundabout. Her being in the wrong lane is 100% at fault, she has the option of circling the roundabout and then taking that exit without the accident the camera vehicle was completely innocent and no insurance company would find them at fault with that footage.
@@bobbyladd cant tell if you're joking but just in case i will point out noticing a trend and knowing south korea is generally considered "tech savvy" is far from racism.
@@shroomyesc No way: he barely used his brakes. The front forks don't dive and look how little he's slowed down. He's basically coasting with the clutch in whilst he revs .If I pull the brakes hard on my bike on a dry road like that I'll stop dead in no time. Even without ABS he could have quickly braked to a halt: it's part of the mod 1 test. At the very least he wouldn't have hit the car as hard. Absolutely terrible riding, and gives the rest of us a bad name.
I agree, at first glance it looks as if the car driver is at fault, but re-playing the clip I noticed it appears Phillip is doing double the speed limit and accelerating into a 40mph speed limit and ignoring the "Slow" marker on the road. Hope he learnt from this, slower speed gives you more time to react, being on two wheels makes you more vulnerable you have to out think the other idiotic drivers on the road.
@@whatshisname3304 I did not say the car driver was totally blameless, but when you're on two wheels for self preservation don't ride like Phillip M, and that was my point, you will come off worse.
£3k to Repair a qashqui? Nah, £100 for a Boot lid, £50 for a bumber from breakers, if its the wrong colour then MAX £200 respray. Maybe £100 in labour from a Garage if you're that incompetent
Thats why our insurance goes up. A dent in a VW Passat door. That will be £1000.00 to you sir. I shit you not. Neadless to say the car was driven with the dent. Insurance wanted to total my mates car due to minor damage, he got the bits from a breakers yard and fixed himself. The biggest scam are those national body repair centres.
The driver has every right to have their car repaired to a proper standard using new parts, at a dealer approved by the insurer to ensure a good finish, not the dirt cheapest possible junk yard scrap. You're ignoring the possible damage to things like parking sensors, structural damage inside that you can't see from the clip etc. Now if the car was going to be a write off, I agree, buy it back for scrap price and do it yourself but for a newish car - nope, proper repair please. My other half's car was eventually scrapped after 2 repair attempts after a guy ran a give way and drove into the side of her and the car never really recovered (soft top which leaked after the incident)
Yes, that’s right. If it’s not your fault then get it done in a slapdash fashion, wave your warranty on your car goodbye, but hey, you’ll have saved the other party a few quid. I’d say the incompetent one is the person who pays for second hand parts, gets a cheap spray job done and ends up with a car that can’t be sold as being in A1 condition and won’t have a manufacturers or repairers warranty on it.
@@vernonbear your telling me to get manufacturer fresh parts on my 1999 BMW 🤣🤣, that qashqi aint a new car and a doubt it has warranty anymore. A new ish car i could agree
8:52 that was poor visual awareness by the Dashcam driver, not your fault, however the fact you didn’t even slow down tells me you weren’t watching what was going on ahead of you.
Not sure use of the horn was necessary at 10:10, Tim. Pretty sure the oncoming car already knew something had gone wrong and it was heading towards the wrong side of the road 😆
it was me she hit and her words was i checked the wrong mirror ? lol insurance fixed the damage to my new car and wasnt contested as i had the footage safe to say the dashcam has already paid for itself :)
What is it with bikers that rev instead of using the horn? If it's not loud enough get an after market one. Not that expensive, and more affective than " some asswhole is being an idiot on his bike."
From comments left by bikers on other videos rev-bombing is infinitely quicker and easier than using the horn. The reason being that they already have their hand on the throttle and the horn button is apparently nearly always made really small and awkward to reach by bike manufacturers. Nothing to do with how loud the horn is at all.
That's about right, could have been more. I was hit by a bin lorries bin lifting equipment as they were reversing, nearside front wing took the damage and it cost £2.5k
People in the clips should take their cars back to where they brought it from . And say the indicators and brakes don't work And they can't see out of the mirrors and windows. How difficult is it to indicate the bloody indicator is like a inch away from the steering wheel So unless there's alot of people with broken necks it's not hard to look in mirrors and check blind spot when maneuvering.
It happens from time to time, it’s purely accidental. Don’t worry, all over the nation Range Rover owners are ignoring give way signs, undertaking on the motorway and generally pissing off other road users.
you should always approach a roundabout as to stop if need be. i think both approach speed was a little to high, as you can see from the footage is that the range was clearly on the roundabout first with truck have no intentions to stopping. truck is defo to blame but it could of been a lot less or avoid at a slightly less speed until you left the junction
100% his fault. I suppose some people have no shame, and would rather upload the clip even though they look like a twat. I hate fuckers who creep out of junctions in traffic.
@@AstronomyWales "I hate fuckers who creep out of junctions in traffic" What else do you expect someone to do if their view is blocked? Just peel out blindly and hope nobody's there?
Yep. He thought he was blocking traffic coming from the right so he felt he had no need to look to the right. Obviously he thinks it's everyone else's fault though and not his!
Jason M at 2:20 you could have just braked pal even though people shouldn't be pullin out a lot of these dash cammers look like they don't even try and avoid an accident just to get some footage or some cash
Here's an idea, how about not speeding, how about instead of dipping the clutch and accelerating try the brakes? Not saying the car wasn't at fault but clearly the biker just ran in to him, he had plenty of time to come to a complete stop safely. Provided he wasn't speeding and rev-bombing.
@@RagedDrew I have no ill will towards bikers, but the second I see one approaching I get so tense and on edge. They always drive far too close, far too fast, weaving in and out of traffic. But you're right about the speeding. It's actually shocking the speed these bikers go at.
How can you be confused?? The cammer was ok to continue at the giveway, then the van was already on the wrong side of the white line before he just steered in to the cammer, at what point was the cammer at fault exactly??
Brian Smith just the road layout in general. Would the car have had to give way to the van had the van been closer? Yes the van took the turn terribly but he was in the fuel lane and turned into the fuel station, and I’m sure he would have avoided the hashed markings. If he was expecting the cam car to give way, then his actions are more understandable. Very few people take turns at true right angles. I think if the van’s right turn had priority over the cam car’s give way lines, it is just poor driving from both sides as the cam car would have likely been in the way when the van came to turn had he done it correctly
I'm slightly embarrassed by the amount I've these I've watched without it clicking that there aren't an unusually large number of people who own dashcams who also happen to have very deep voices.
They stick a set of lights on the back. Like a trailer board and thats it. The big question is, how heavy was the transit. I ask because my transit has to be recovered, too heavy to tow..
There’s a special place in hell for people who record videos off a computer screen I mean come the fuck ok there’s a computer right in front of you just upload it from there!
5:00 or so - hope the dash cam car stopped and gave details, that crash was caused by the car pulling out in front of the oncoming one but without that sort of evidence you'd struggle to get the blame in the right place.
10:50 now that's ironic. It looks like the silver one already has damage in the exact same spot as it is hit in this clip. Perhaps from doing the same thing?
